O For a Thousand Tongues to SingO for a thousand tongues to sing My great Redeemer’s praise, The glories of my God and King, The triumphs of His grace.

2. Jesus! the name that charms our fears, That bids our sorrows cease, ‘Tis music in the sinner’s ears, ‘Tis life and health and peace. 3. He breaks the pow’r of cancelled sin, He sets the prisoner free; His blood can make the foulest clean; His blood availed for me.

5. My gracious Master and my God, Assist me to proclaim, To spread thro’ all the earth abroad, The honors of Thy name.

Jesus Paid It AllI hear the Savior say: “Thy strength indeed is small. Child of weakness, watch and pray; Find in Me thine all in all.”

Refrain:Jesus paid it all; All to Him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain; He washed it white as snow.

2. Lord, now indeed I find Thy pow’r, and Thine alone Can change the leper’s spots And melt the heart of stone.

3. For nothing good have I Whereby Thy grace to claim; I’ll wash my garments white In the blood of Calv’ry’s Lamb.

After Communion4. And when before the throne I stand in Him complete, “Jesus died my soul to save,” My lips shall still repeat.

Trust and ObeyWhen we walk with the Lord In the light of His Word, What a glory He sheds on our way! While we do His good will, He abides with us still, And with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain:Trust and obey, For there’s no other way To be happy in Jesus, But to trust and obey.

EverlastingFrom everlasting to everlasting, You are God From everlasting to everlasting, You are God

In holiness You stand secure, through culture’s shifting sands Unchanged by all the vanities of man And as the nations rise and fall Your sovereignty remains. You are, You are, You are the one true God.

From everlasting to everlasting, You are God From everlasting to everlasting, You are God

In faithfulness Your love extends, through times of turbulence Adopting those who call upon Your name. And every genera-tion joins in songs of grateful praise. You are, You are, You are the one true God.

From everlasting to everlasting, You are God From everlasting to everlasting, You are God

Eternal (Eternal), Immortal (Immortal), Invisible (Invisible), God. Eternal (Eternal), Immortal (Immortal), Invisible (Invisible), God

From everlasting to everlasting, You are God From everlasting to everlasting, You are God From everlasting to everlasting, You are God From everlasting to everlast-ing, You are God You are God.

Here I Am to WorshipLight of the world You stepped down into darkness Opened my eyes, let me see Beauty that made this heart adore You Hope of a life spent with You.

"I can take my telescope and look millions and millions of miles into space. But I can lay it aside, go into my room, shut the door, get down on my knees in earnest prayer, and see more of heaven and get closer to God than I can as-sisted by all the telescopes and material agencies on earth." —Isaac Newton

It’s one of my favorite family stories, one I espe-cially like to remember

and share with my daughter as we approach the Fourth of July.

It was April 1954. My mother, a German immigrant to America, had boarded the MS Stockholm. The passage across the Atlantic Ocean was a stormy one, so to distract herself, my mother thought about the fact that, in just a short time, she would arrive in America—the land of her dreams.

In the final hour of the voyage, my mother was abruptly awakened at 5 a.m. by a pounding on the door of her tiny, windowless cabin deep in the bowels of the ship. Opening the door, my mother and her cabin mate found a member of the crew.

“Come up on deck,” he said, smiling. “There’s something you’re going to want to see.” So my mother, along with dozens of other excited passengers, threw on their coats and made their way up to the deck. There, rising up in the dawn light, was the Statue of Liberty. It was one of the most exciting—and emotional—mo-ments of my mother’s life. To her, the statue WAS America, the bright hope of the world for millions of immigrants like her.

I tell this story in my new book, If You Can Keep It: The Forgotten Promise of American Liberty. And I tell another story, as well—one that took place forty-eight years after my mother’s arrival. It’s the story of what it was like to live in New York on September 11, 2001 and during the harrowing days and weeks after the at-tacks.

Just a few months after 9-11, I was standing on the upper deck of a ferry headed from Manhattan to New Jersey. As we passed through New York Harbor, I suddenly saw Lady Liberty, almost as if I were seeing her for the first time. I sur-prised myself by getting choked up. And I suddenly realized the reason I had tears in my eyes was that, after all that had happened, she was still standing there, still graciously welcoming poor, huddled masses, still holding forth her torch to light the way to liberty and hope. It just broke my heart.

I began thinking of some of the noblest Americans who ever lived—people who stood up—sometimes at the cost of their lives—to honor the American ideal: Nathan Hale, Abraham Lincoln, Rosa Parks, those first responders on 9-11. They knew what America was about—or SHOULD be about. They worked and sacrificed for the America that God intended us to be.

Independence Day is a day on which we should ask ourselves: How am I up-holding the promise of America—the promise Lady Liberty represents?

Let me put it this way: When people try to destroy it, not just with planes plow-ing into buildings, but with evil laws that rip America apart at the seams, do you fight them?

If you see something wrong, do you try to right it? Do you vote? Do you join volunteer societies—or begin one? Do you pray for our country and its leaders? Do you work on behalf of candidates you believe in—or have you even consid-ered running for office yourself?

I’d like to end this by quoting the last paragraph in my book, If You Can Keep It:“So go forth and love America, knowing that if your love is true it will be trans-

muted one way or another into a love of everything that is good beyond America, which is her golden promise to the world, and the promise that we, you and I, must keep.”

…and may God bless America.

Music. Pray for the individuals whom God will send to sing this wonderful story of God's greatest gift to mankind: "a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."

14. Pray for the elders as they meet to-night to discuss the business of the church. Pray for them to have wisdom and unity as they make decisions regarding the direction of the church.

15. We are observing "the nations" com-ing to us. The Bibleless are among these. There is an organization called Global Gates whose mission is the great challenge at the end of the Great Commission: "to the ends of the earth." For two thousand years, The Ends of the Earth have waited for the hope of salvation in Jesus Christ. Today, God has brought The Ends of the Earth to us. North America’s mega cities are now home to many unreached people groups from around the world. Through these unreached urban communities, God has opened a gateway that reaches to The Ends of the Earth. Pray for the completion of the task of taking God's GOOD Gospel to the ENDS OF THE EARTH. Remember that part of these Bibleless peoples live near us in Clarkston. Pray for the multitude of ministries going on there, other places in greater Atlanta, join in, pray etc.

16. Pray for the conference that Sean & Rebekah Conklin will attend this month (July 26 - August 1). They will also be help-ing with a few sessions at orientation for new families from August 23-25. Please pray for this time for their family, for the meetings and for everyone who will be trav-eling to the conference site.

W Please pray for VBS this week. Every-day we will host dozens of children and interface with their parents briefly. Pray for a loving and gracious spirit to permeate the attitudes of all who are serving — in all capacities. Pray also for safety for everyone and that the children's hearts will be ready to hear the truth and see the beauty of what Jesus offers them.

Please remember the following special missions requests taken from our monthly prayer guide. Numbers refer to days of the month.

10. Pray for the 40+ million widows of India. If you were a widow in India, you would be seen as cursed by the gods. You would be abandoned by family, seen as nothing but a burden. You would struggle to survive (many are illiterate, forced to beg). You would be vulnerable to sexual exploita-tion. This is a grim, but true, picture of what it means to be a widow in India. But there is hope … faith in Christ brings life-changing new joy to widows in India. One widow, named Geeta, said, “I have received new life through Jesus. I praise God for His blessings. I want to stand firm in Christ no matter what circumstance I may have to face.”

11. Please be in prayer for the VBS that begins today and runs through Friday. Pray for protection from the enemy. Something major has happened every year around VBS time that has tried to thwart the preparation or bring a cloud over the week at VBS. Pray for health and stamina for those involved in pre-prep and who are working the week of VBS. Pray for the Lord to impact for His glory the lives of the attendees and the workers during the VBS.

12. Praise the Lord for Boyden and Lois Donmoyer. Thank Him for the way that He continues to use them faithfully. Praise Him for the example they are to the Body, demonstrating a long-standing, faithful walk with the Lord.

13. Remember Sandra Clements as you pray for the CBC music ministry. July and August are months where she begins to get very serious about the choice of Christmas
