SAFETY

Electrical Safety

Caution! before connecting the electricalpower cord to a power outlet, check thatthe air cooler voltage is the same as yourpower supply (refer to the rating labellocated on the rear of the unit).

Do not pull the unit along by the powercord or place the power cord near asource of heat. Always unroll the powercord completely before use.

Switch off and unplug when not in use.

If the power supply cord is damaged itmust be replaced by the manufacturer, aservice agent or similarly qualifiedpersons in order to avoid a hazard.

Portable evaporative air cooler -important safety instructions

Please read these instructions beforeassembling the cooler and keep for futurereference.

This appliance is not intended for use bypersons (including children) with reducedphysical, sensory or mental capabilities, orlack of experience and knowledge, unlessthey have been given supervision orinstruction concerning use of the appliance bya person responsible for their safety.

Children should be supervised to ensure thatthey do not play with the appliance.

Clean the air inlets and outlets at regularintervals to prevent airflow reduction (referMaintenance section).

Do not store or operate the appliance nearany flammable substances.

During operation, water is present in thebottom tank of the air cooler. Be careful whenmoving the unit to prevent water from spilling.

General Safety

For indoor use only.

Use only in the upright position on a flat levelsurface and at least 50cm from any objects.

Do not place objects on the air cooler, orthrough the ventilating slots or restrict the airinlets & outlets.

Closely supervise any children and pets whenthe air cooler is in use.

Always switch your cooler off and unplug itbefore cleaning or maintenance.

To assemble the cooler

Push the four castors into their locatingholes in the base. Use a rotating motionto assist in the entry of the steel springring (“ ” Fig 7).

Assemble the front and rear pillars andscrew together. Place this assembly onthe base and slide into position until itlocks (Fig 8).

Models Millenia and Megacool only

Place the reservoir of the cooler onto thefront pillar as shown (Fig 9). Tiltdownwards towards the rear until thereservoir locks onto the rear pillar.

To remove the unit from the pillars, use ascrewdriver in the two recesses in therear of the reservoir to release the clips.Tilt the unit forward to remove.

To assemble the cooler

How to get the best coolingperformance

Place the cooler with its back near to anopen window or door so it can draw in100% fresh air.

Open another window or door on theopposite side of the room for “flowthrough” ventilation. This cooler will notcool properly in a closed room (Fig 11).

Turn the cooler off before filling. Open thewater filling door and pour in clean water(Fig 12).

The water capacity is 14 litres. Theminimum amount of water needed for thepump to operate is 2 litres.

The cooler is full when the water levelindicator is in the “FULL” position(Fig 13).

! The cooler and pump will not bedamaged if operated without water.

Do not overfill, as water willspill out of the cooler!

Using the cooler

When this appliance is used as an air cooler,it should be filled with water and the coolknob turned to the “COOL” position (Fig 14).

(1) is selected for quietestoperation (Fig 14).

(3) is for maximum cooling(Fig 15).

. This cooler may beused as a fan only. Set the cool knob toposition “0” (Fig 15).

Conditioning of the aspen coolingpad

To get the best performance from your cooler,we recommend that when first used it is runwith water for at least 10 minutes at thesetting in Fig 16.

During this process the water becomesslightly yellow, and there is a natural smell ofdamp wood. This is normal.

Air direction control -Millenia / Mastercool

The cooler is provided with air guide vaneswhich can be adjusted as required to directthe air flow.

Models Millenia and Mastercool are adjustedmanually by sliding the levers on the frontpanel (Fig 17).

Model Megacool has motor driven vanesthat are switched on and off by the fancontrol switch on the control panel (Fig18). Set the control to the “sweep / fan”

speed setting to operate the sweep vanes(shown). Set to “fan” speed settings forfixed direction.There are no manual adjustment levers.

Cleaning the cooler

Important! Always switch off andremove the electrical plug beforecleaning and servicing thecooler.

To clean, wipe the cooler with a dampcloth and a little household detergent.

The rear panel can be removed to gainaccess to inside the cooler by removingthe screws at the top of each side.

Pivot the panel backwards and lift off(Fig 20).

End of Season

At least once a year at the end of summer itis advisable to do some simple maintenanceon your cooler to maintain its high efficiency.This involves cleaning the water system andthe Aspen cooling pad.

To drain water

Drain the water from the cooler by moving thecooler to a drain and removing the drain pluglocated on the bottom of the tank. When thecooler is empty replace the plug in the tank(Fig 21).

22Pump belt replacement

If a pump drive belt needs replacing, accesscan be gained by using a tool (screwdriver) toremove the small access door (Fig 22 - “A”).

Each cooler is supplied with a spare drainplug, located in the position shown (Fig 22 -“B”).

Clean the water strainer by removing anyforeign matter. Wash the Aspen cooling padwith water while it is still in the rear panel.Replace the pad if it is worn or deteriorated.

3.6 Fan/pump not runningfast enough on low speed.

3.7 Pump drive belt faultyor broken.

3.6.1 Check that supply voltage is up to correct level.

3.6.2 Fan and pump will pick up speed slightly as the motorreaches normal operating temperature. Allow the cooler torun for 30-60 minutes and check again. If there is noimprovement have the cooler checked by a service agent.

3.7.1 Replace drive belt as shown on page 7.

4.1 Reservoir or Aspencooling pad dirty.

4.2 Water quality is poor.

4.1.1 Drain reservoir and fill the cooler with clean water. If itstill smells clean the reservoir and replace the Aspen coolingpad or proceed to 4.2.1.

4.2.1 Add a little vanilla essence or perfume to the water.

4. Cooler makes badsmell.

5.1 Dirt has accumulatedinside pump.

5.1.1 Proceed as in 3.5.1

5.1.2 Replace drive belt as shown on page 7.

5. Cooler makesscraping or rattlingnoise on new seasonstart up.

6.1 Too much water inreservoir.

6.2 Water level indicatornot working.

6.1.1 Drain some water out (see page 7).

6.2.1 Remove the rear panel for access. Slide the indicatorup to the 'FULL' position then let it drop. If it fails to operatehave it checked by a service agent.

6. Water overflows fromreservoir.

7.1 Electrical fault. 7.1.1 Electrical parts must only be repaired and replaced byAuthorised Service Agents.

7. Cooler will notoperate at all.

8.1.1 If the power supply cord of this appliance is damaged itmust be replaced. Electrical parts must only be repaired andreplaced by Authorised Service Agents.

8. Damaged powersupply cord.

3. No cooling. 3.1 Cooling control is off.

3.2 Reservoir is empty ornearly empty.

3.3 Weather is too humid.

3.4 Aspen cooling pad and/ or pump inlet screenblocked or dirty.

3.5 Pump is not workingproperly.

3.1.1 Turn cool knob to 'COOL'.

3.2.1 Fill with water again until water level indicator is at the'FULL' position. Water capacity is 14 litres

3.3.1 Turn cool knob to '0' and use cooler as a fan only.

3.4.1 Clean parts - see maintenance page 6.

3.5.1 The pump is NOT a separate electric pump. It isconnected to the fan motor and is driven mechanically. Turnthe cooler off and completely drain the reservoir. Refill withwater. Switch fan knob to high speed (3), turn the cool knobto 'COOL',run the cooler for 10-15 minutes non-stop. This willhelp dissolve and flush out the dirt. The Aspen cooling padshould now be wet. If the pad is not visibly wet and there isno cooling, have the cooler checked by a service agent.

1. Cooler will notoperate at first.

2. Cooler stopsoperating after runningfor some time.

1.1 Power outlet or supplyfaulty.

1.2 Wrong voltage.

2.1 Motor overheated(safety cutout).

1.1.1 Switch on power outlet.1.1.2 Check power supply.1.1.3 Check power outlet.

1.2.1 Check that power supply is the same as specified onthe rating label.

2.1.1 Wait 30-45 minutes for motor to cool down and it willrestart automatically. If condition persists take the cooler to aservice agent.

Switch fan knob to high speed (3), turn the cool knobto 'COOL',run the cooler for 10-15 minutes non-stop. This willhelp dissolve and flush out the dirt. The Aspen cooling padshould now be wet. If the pad is not visibly wet and there isno cooling, have the cooler checked by a service agent.

1. Cooler will notoperate at first.

2. Cooler stopsoperating after runningfor some time.

1.1 Power outlet or supplyfaulty.

1.2 Wrong voltage.

2.1 Motor overheated(safety cutout).

2.1.1 Wait 30-45 minutes for motor to cool down and it willrestart automatically. If condition persists take the cooler to aservice agent.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensationfor any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have theGoods repaired or replaced if the Goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failuredoes not amount to a major failure.

In addition to any rights and remedies that You may have under the Australian ConsumerLaw or any other law, subject to the terms of this warranty, We provide the followingwarranty:

2. We are under no obligation to repair or replace the Goods under clause 1 if the Goodshave not been used only for personal, domestic or household purposes or have notbeen operated and maintained in accordance with the instructions in the Owner'sManual. The addition of any third party device or the removal or the alteration of any ofour components will void this warranty. In addition, the warranty granted under clause 1does not apply to:

• Consumable components such as filters,

• Adjustments necessary due to misuse of the cooler,

• Normal user maintenance,

• Setting of controls,

• Transit damage, or

• Damage caused by user misuse, tampering, or failure to observe the care andspecial provisions in the instructions.

3. The warranty granted under clause 1 is limited to repair or replacement only. As far asthe law permits, We will not be liable for any consequential loss suffered through, orresulting from, the non operation, or ineffective operation of the Goods.
