    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Title: Construction Leader I Employment Status: Full Time

    Department: Construction FLSA Status: Exempt

    Reports To: Director of Construction Supervises:

    JOB SUMMARY:The Site supervisor will facilitate the construction of Habitat for Humanity homes at a

    specific site or service area. This person will have to supervise volunteer leaders on eachhome to ensure that each home is being built according to the plans from start to finish.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Take responsibility from permit through homeowner sign-off Assurescompliance with building codes.

    Train/Mentor Crew Chiefs, Team Leaders, and all other volunteer labor. Work with Home Sponsors and CampHabitat groups on site to ensure a positive

    experience with Habitat.

    Inspect the work of all volunteer labor on a constant basis. Maintain working relationships with municipalities and inspectors. Work with purchasing personnel to ensure all materials are available and on time

    during building and coordinate needed tools to be on site.

    Maintain community Appearance Maintain budgets and schedules to ensure work is performed in accordance with

    these documents.

    Evaluate and schedule delivery of in-kind donations. Available on a full-time basis. Workweek is Tuesday Saturday. Ensure that all other staff has any and all construction information they need to

    perform their duties.

    Excellent stamina is required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

    Intimate knowledge of all aspects of construction. Able to work a Tuesday Saturday workweek. Interpersonal skills Team player. Organizational skills. Strong communication skills. Time management skills. Action oriented, must press for immediate results. Thorough knowledge of construction industry. Leadership skills.

    Blueprint reading skills. Follow-up skills. Teacher and mentor. Ambitious. Desire to succeed. Decision maker/motivator. Cool in pressure situations.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE:

    1 2 years as a Project Manager or QA/Service Manager or equivalentexperience.

    At least 5 years in the construction industry.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THIS JOB:

    Dress code is casual and comfortable; no sandals or open shoes allowed, steeltoed boots recommended and company shirts will be provided.

    Employee must be proficient in or able to use or learn to use office equipmentsuch as computer, printer, phone, copiers, calculator, fax machine and other

    communication vehicles.
