Las construcciones metálicas en Galicia destacan por sus elevadas inversiones en I+D+i, en formación y en calidad y medio ambiente.
Las actividades relacionadas con la construcción tienen un peso importante en las industrias integradas en la Asociación de Industriales Metalúrgicos de Galicia -ASIME, que cuenta con empresas de estructuras metálicas, industrias del aluminio así como de calderería ligera y pesada.
Esta actividad ha abordado, desde ASIME y desde las propias empresas, el reto de la internacionalización y actualmente éstas operan de manera relevante en el mercado internacional, contando con una amplia experiencia en la ejecución de trabajos de gran singularidad y complejidad.
