National trends in After-School Programming From Afterschool Alliance Seven in Ten students improved their homework completion and class participation when attending a community learning center. Three out of Four parents agree that after-school programs give them peace of mind about their children while they are at work. For every dollar invested in after- school programs, at least $2.50 is saved in crime-related costs. 73% of parents agree, after- school programs help reduce the likelihood that youth will engage in risky behaviors. 71% of Minnesota parents feel that after-school programs help working parents keep their jobs. Neighborhood Youth Services provides a FREE, comprehensive, full-service program for school-aged youth in Duluth’s Central Hillside.
