The housing market, some suggest, is crumbling all around us. Competition and demand far outstrips supply and the threat of a global housing bubble crisis is fast becoming a reality.

And yet for most investors, the alternative residential and rental market seems be flourishing across European city hotspots. Could it be that increased globalisation, urbanisation, changing demographics and lifestyle fads are causing a boom in new models, new services and attracting new money? It could even be the case that resi alternatives are already the new ‘normal’, attracting global institutional capital and long term investment plays.

Ultimately, we need to ask ourselves whether there is enough product innovation to satisfy demand and invest to scale, and whether these new trends are a passing fad, or here to stay as a firm, core asset class.

The GRI Residential is where select senior developers are able to meet private and institutional real estate investors, local councils, fund managers and direct lenders into residential assets to develop business friendships and find new opportunities.

Sabina is responsible for developing CBRE Global Investors’ house views on the outlook for the global economy and financial markets, and analysing their impact on real estate markets. She is also the head of the eleven-strong European research team which provides strategic and asset level research support to our direct and indirect investment teams.

Sabina joined the industry in 2001 and started working for CBRE Global Investors in 2008 from IPD where she was Chief Economist. Prior to this she worked for Capital Economics, where she developed their UK residential and commercial property market analysis and forecasting service.

Registrations are for the full duration of the event and are not divisible into individual days or any other fraction of the full event. Registrations are not divisible amongst participants. We don’t authorise any third party websites to process registrations on our behalf.

Discussion Co-chair Rates • Selectively available to industry leaders (investors, developers and lenders) involved in the program.
