[TRAVEL WATCH] Breezy Boarding? Delta is doing its part to make the long, drawn-out boarding process a little less painful. Through the airline’s newly launched Early Valet program, Delta employees preload carry-ons of select customers departing from Delta’s domestic hubs (Atlanta, Minneapolis/St. Paul, New York-JFK and Seattle) about 45 minutes before takeoff. Although the program is currently available exclusively to families with small children, those with disabilities, elderly travelers and high-value customers, Delta says Early Valet has resulted in an average 8 percent increase in customer satisfaction and shaved 90 seconds off boarding times since June 1—meaning the program could soon be implemented on a larger scale for the rest of us.
