Do you know we have a Bible Buck store for kids who attend F.I.S.H. to go shopping for treasures? Each week students earn Bible Bucks for bringing their Bibles, memorizing scripture, participating in activities and showing love and kindness to their friends. At the end of the month, the children use

their Bible Bucks to purchase items from the store. Please consider donating to the Bible Buck Store. Dollar Tree toys, crafts, books and writing supplies make good items for the store or you can make a monetary donation through the office. Contact Belinda Bost, Children's Minister 828-244-1905 or [email protected] for questions.

Connect - Grow - Bridge

Corner Table groups serve at 10:30am: Souper Stars, August 5th, Sun Shiners, August 28th.

ECCCM’s “Share the Harvest Banquet” is Saturday, September 14th. Tickets are now available and are $75 each. Join us at Catawba Country Club. Enjoy a night of great food, music, dancing, silent auction and much more! This is ECCCM’s 50th Anniversary year!

Oooppsss!!! We made a mistake in the newsletter. Bob Malin and Paula Klinger were married in July. Adrian and Hilda Hefner’s anniversary was left off the anniversary list. Their anniversary is August 28th. Please add these important events to your newsletter.

It is time again for the drawing for the Camp Linn Haven Boosters Club fund raiser. The dinner and drawing will be Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at Bethel Lutheran Church. The tickets are $100, the grand prize is $10,000. Only 300 tickets are sold, see Doug Brady to get your tickets. Proceeds will go to the construction of a new bridge going into camp.

The Bible Study that meets on the First and Third Wednesdays will NOT MEET in August, but will resume in September at the same time, 10:00am.

It’s time to make your reservation for Family Camp. Look for an email to come later in the week. It will also be posted on our Facebook page. ECCCM is in desperate need of volunteers for our thrift store. We need people to run the register, to put new merchandise out, to organize and tidy up the store, etc.! If you would consider volunteering on a regular basis, whether daily, weekly, or monthly, please call Allen Sherrill at 828-465-1702 ext. 116, or go to our website's volunteer section at ecccm.org to learn more and fill out a volunteer form. Times are flexible and we will work with what is convenient for you! Thank you for considering serving!

Kids In Worship! Our worship word for August 4 is “Greed.” A greedy person values

material goods more than they value God. Greed is never satisfied

no matter how much material goods one can accumulate. A greedy person always

wants more much like the man in the parable of The Foolish and Rich Man, Luke

12: 13-21.

Jesus doesn’t say that possessions and money are bad. He just says that

worrying about them and chasing after them is not the way to live a life that is

rich in God’s eyes. Our possessions are temporary. God’s kingdom lasts forever.

Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for all of your amazing gifts we have in our

lives. We pray for help in placing you first in our priorities. Amen.

Be sure and get your Kids in Worship bulletin form the greeters or ushers. Crayons and colored pencils are at the Welcome Stations. For all things Children’s Ministry contact Belinda Bost, Children’s Minister at 828-244-1905 or [email protected]

PrimeTimers meet August 12th at 11:30 AM in the Emmaus room for our pot luck luncheon and business meeting. Our entertainment will be the musical talents of Paul and Francis Hale. You might remember the last time they entertained us. Elvis was in the building. i.e. Paul sang Elvis’ songs. Our hosts for August are Harold and Barbara Unger. Please remember Vicar Alex and his family in your prayers as they prepare to return to the seminary for his last year of classes and field work before he graduates and receives a call to start his ministry. Please pray for the Call just issued to Rev. Jon Vollrath as he considers Concordia as his next congregation. Christ's blessings, peace, love and mercy to all.

Anyone 55 and older is welcome to join PrimeTimers at any of our activities.

May God guide

our new Pastor

and his “CALL”!
