Phases of Disaster Cycle

• Prevention and Mitigation(pre-disaster): addresses what can be done to reduce or eliminate risk of life and property

• Preparedness(pre-disaster): focuses on the process of planning for the worst case –scenario

• Response(During & post disaster): is devoted to steps to be taken during an emergency

• Recovery(post-disaster): deals with how to restore learning & teaching environment after a crisis
