After Normal Duty Hours & Weekend Customer Service Issues
Due to budget crisis, DPW will only be responding to Life, Health, & Safety (LHS) issues called in to the after hour and weekend Customer Services lines, 263-4613 & 263- 4274. It is important customers call in only LHS issues. If issue(s) are questionable, your call will be directed to the Operations & Maintenance, subject matter experts. Since DPW understands some issues are subjective, below is a list of examples you can report: Unscheduled water or power outages Major water leaks which may cause collateral damage to the facility or personal property Plumbing issues (toilet or sinks) Inoperable refrigerators (to prevent perishables from spoiling) Downed power lines, shorted outlets
Structural Damage from: wind, rain, flood, and earthquakes Broken glass in windows or doors Inoperable heating or air conditioning system; however, if you have multiple working units in your quarters, please wait until the next work day to call in

DPW
Avoiding Mold Issues In Your Quarters
Maintain your air-conditioner (A/C) settings at 25.5 Degrees Celsius or 78 Degrees Fahrenheit
Humidity levels should be between 30 and 50 percent (dehumidifiers are available at the Post Exchange) NOTE: Most dehumidifiers need to be monitored so the sump tray will not overflow with water
Keep all windows and doors closed (operating A/C systems with the doors and windows open causes condensation)
If you are going on an extended trip (7 days or more) please notify the Housing Division so they can provide you with a check list of essential items before closing up your quarters such as:
- leave your A/C systems operating at low speed and at 85 Degrees Fahrenheit - leave your closets and indoor room doors open - leave your bathroom ventilation fans operating - do not leave any dehumidifiers operating - do not leave any damp laundry laying out
Remediation:
- Light surface mold can be removed by diluting 1 cup of bleach in a gallon of water and apply to the area with a spray bottle or dampened sponge
- Any heavy or reoccurring mold issues please call DPW customer service line 263-4613 / 263-4274
