Vandals Howl While Adults Have Scuffle The vandals who daubed paint all over the high school wall, cut down the steel football field goal l*ists ,jnd smeared the scoreboard must have higgled themselves silly Monday night when the Board ol Kducation and some 150 parents and othei spectators demonstrated how adults aren't necessarily adults. The board made some import- ant appointments Monday night. But that wasn't what caused the neat-not at the session It was the quest ion of whether the high school |'i aduation next week ought to tie hold indoors or out- dooi •< I his question drove some S|wakets almost to hysteria and threatened several times to drive th. meeting in the Town Hall »»lit of control The exhibition finally was halted when the board decided to let the students vote on whether they v mt the graduation exer- ci-es mad. or outside Since the student* have been agitating for weeks foi outside exercises the election appears to be academic In making several important appointments the Board of Edu- cation split on the same political linos that prevailed on the night the board reorganized in Febru- ary The majority prevailed in naming Joseph Polito, brother of Public Affairs Commissioner Ralph Polito, assistant to the high school principal over Michael Murliiir#^ former football coach, and in naming Frank Gagliardi elementary guidance director over Angela Wisnewski. 1ho vote was five to four. The majority including President Pat- sy Restaino, and Trustees Peter Curcio, Frank Livelh. Mario Riz- zo and Theodore Toploski voted the jobs while the minority of Mis Charles Christ, William Bel- lo. Morris Settenibrino and Mrs John Sozzio voted against. Vandals Howl W hile Adults H ave Scu ffle

The vandals who daubed paint all over the high school wall, cut down the steel football field goal l*ists ,jnd smeared the scoreboard must have higgled themselves silly Monday night when the Board ol Kducation and some 150 parents and othei spectators demonstrated how adults aren't necessarily adults.

The board made some important appointments Monday night.

But that wasn't what caused the neat-not at the session It was the quest ion of whether the high school |'i aduation next week ought to tie hold indoors or out- dooi •<

I his question drove some S|wakets almost to hysteria and threatened several times to drive th. meeting in the Town Hall »»lit of control

The exhibition finally was halted when the board decided to let the students vote on whether they v mt the graduation exer- ci-es mad. or outside Since the student* have been agitating for weeks foi outside exercises the election appears to be academic

In making several important appointments the Board of Education split on the same political linos that prevailed on the night the board reorganized in February

The majority prevailed in naming Joseph Polito, brother of Public Affairs Commissioner Ralph Polito, assistant to the high school principal over Michael Murliiir#^ former football coach, and in naming Frank Gagliardi elementary guidance director over Angela Wisnewski.

1 ho vote was five to four. The majority including President Patsy Restaino, and Trustees Peter Curcio, Frank Livelh. Mario Rizzo and Theodore Toploski voted the jobs while the minority of M is Charles Christ, W illiam Be llo. Morris Settenibrino and Mrs John Sozzio voted against.
