Art Adventure Camp Complete eight amazing spring-themed landscapes, seascapes, animals, and florals under the guidance of a professional, certified instructor from the award-winning Robert Garden School of Art in this fun-filled camp. Learn true fine art techniques and creative thinking from a pro, not just crafts, using five different mediums: heavy, light acrylic and watercolor to create beautiful paintings, and two drawing mediums: oil pastel and charcoal. Composition, perspective, color mixing, brush strokes, and more will be demonstrated with step-by-step instruction. All art supplies are provided. Wear an old t-shirt and bring a roll of paper towels to class.

Jo-Ann’s Little Dancers These classes develop poise and coordination, while teaching the fundamentals of ballet and tap. Classes encourage group interaction skills and support your child’s self-esteem and positive image. Children will also develop rhythm and music appreciation skills. Students may wear a leotard, tights, and ballet and/or tap shoes.

Kidz Love Soccer (KLS) Since 1979, Kidz Love Soccer has been dedicated to teaching children the world’s most popular sport within a nurturing, recreational environment. A typical session experience includes age-appropriate activities: skill demonstrations, fun games, and instructional scrimmages. Mommy/Daddy & Me Soccer Introduce your toddler to the “world’s most popular game.” As you and your child participate in our fun, age-appropriate activities, your child will be developing their large motor skills and socialization abilities. The fun happens on the field; and, in Mommy/Daddy & Me Soccer, parents are part of the action—not just watching from the sidelines. No specific equipment is required for the Mommy/Daddy & Me class. Spring Volleyball League The league is designed to introduce young ladies to the game of volleyball. It was created to provide a safe, fun environment to learn the basics of the game through practices, teaching the fundamental volleyball skills, sport ethics, and league competition.

A team will consist of a minimum of 8 players and maximum of 12 players. Teams will practice an hour and a half each week. Players will receive a team t-shirt.

Registration can be completed online or in person. To register online, the team coach must contact the Recreation Department at 817.503.1180 with their team information. At that time, the coach will be given a team code to give to their team to register.

Signing up as an individual or a free agent does not guarantee your child a spot on a team. A coach will have to volunteer in order for a team of free agents to be formed. If and when a coach volunteers, a staff member will contact individuals with team information. If you would like to coach, please call 817.503.1180 for more details.

Zumba Zumba combines fitness and motivational music with combinations of world dance—creating a dynamic, excitingly effective, and fun fitness program. The routines feature a combination of fast and slow rhythms to help tone and sculpt the body. It’s a mixture of movements with easy-to-follow dance steps.

Intermediate Yoga This class offers a flowing practice that appeals to experienced yoga students comfortable with yoga postures and sun salutations. New Year Restorative, Yin & Yoga Nidra Gently stretch, restore, and be guided through visualizations that create the life and adventures you desire in your new year. Restorative: Relax, release, and heal as you linger in passive poses with lots of comfort enhancing props. Yin: Gentle poses to increase flexibility, and rehabilitate joints and muscles. Yoga for Active Adults Each month, the class begins by learning basic alignment of selected poses, breath work, and meditation. As the class progresses, new poses are added, creating a flow using these poses and synchronizing them with proper breathing. Each class utilizes warm-up poses to allow deeper stretching and cool-down poses to release the muscles and allow for complete relaxation. No experience is necessary. The class is designed to provide options for all levels. A discount is available for Senior Center members.

Freedom from Smoking The American Lung Association has designed a program to help smokers to quit and stay smoke-free, utilizing proven methods to deal with the physiological, psychological, and sociocultural components of smoking. This free, four-week program addresses managing stress, nicotine withdrawal, weight control, and long-term strategies for maintaining cessation.

Managing Money for Retirement This course introduces the key concepts and practices of wise money management for retirement. Students can find out how to generate a steady income, protect assets from erosion, minimize taxes and provide a secure retirement for their family. Proper estate planning including will, probate, trusts and more can help students make the best use of their retirement plan, evaluate lump-sum distribution options and reduce estate taxes. The instructor will review various types of investments, such as stocks, bonds, tax-deferred annuities and mutual funds. In addition, this course will cover the topics of Social Security, Medicare, life and disability insurance, and long-term health care. No products will be sold during this information seminar. You Can Oil Paint a Masterpiece Learn basic color mixing, brushstrokes, and perspective in this fun and easy class. Paintings include Twin Peaks in the Clouds, Tiger Lilies, Crashing Waves, and Cowboy Hat in a Bluebonnet Field.

Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo The legendary Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo is a 23-day extravaganza at the Will Rogers Memorial Center, offering a unique atmosphere rich in tradition and history. The trip featues various livestock shows throughout the morning and the Cowboys of Color Rodeo in the afternoon.

Dallas City Tour & Rooming House Museum This first half of this bus tour around Dallas shows all the sites that make this city BIG. DANCE AND FITNESS CLASSESSENIOR CENTER

Yoga for Active Adults Each month, the class begins by learning basic alignment of selected poses, breath work, and meditation. As the class progresses, new poses are added, creating a flow using these poses and synchronizing them with proper breathing. Each class utilizes warm-up poses to allow deeper stretching and cool down poses to release the muscles and allow for complete relaxation. No experience necessary. The class is designed to provide options for all levels.
