Four principles of proper waste management – all violated by BBMP

1. Garbage should not be given loose – to avoid manual handling, infringing human dignity of waste-collector , and leachate from leaking.

2. Garbage should not be exposed to the environment and cause stink and air-borne bacteria.

3. Garbage should not be dumped on the ground to avoid feeding of garbage by rodents, dogs, cows, etc. , become a breeding ground for flies, bacteria, vectors, etc. and spread diseases.

4. Garbage should not be visible to the public and create an eye-sore and unsightly, unaesthetic surroundings.
