COUNCIL BRIEFS: (Complete minutes posted at City Hall and on the city web site) Regular Meeng: Monday, June 12, 2017, 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. Council present: R. Kokesch, Scharfencamp, and Sher- man. Staff present: Kokesch, Pederson. Guests present: K. Friesen, K. Jacobson, R. Degner, R. Hall, M. Gehrke, S. Palmer. 1) Meeng was called to order, roll call showing Gruendemann and Heibel absent. Pledge of Allegiance Recited. 2) Approved the minutes 5/8/17. 3) Approved Consent Agenda Items: Approved the citys financial report, May receipts $25,254.57; current expenses $52,502.85; 7 past due ulity bills, approved 6 for disconnecon and granted 1 extension for payment; zoning permits issued: M. Fierro to install 4’ x 4’ wood deck at 254 1st Ave. E.; C. Villegas to install a 14’ X 16’ x 6’ wood and chain link kennel at 261 1st St. N. 4) Approved Leer of Condions from USDA Rural Development for fire truck funding: Total project costs $301,478, township/city contribuons $150,478, loan $101,000, grant $50,000; loan term 15 years, currently at 3.375%. 5) Cizens addressed: K. Coles has issues with her address, approved her to change her address. R. Hall water leak in yard and under curb, he felt city should be responsible, per city ordinance and policy, city is responsible for water main only. 6) Tabled Sheriffs Office Contract renewal. 7) Ordinance Violaon Noces were sent in May, violators have unl July 1 for compliance, will be reviewed at the July meeng; R. Degner stated that storing brick is allowable in the business district, he is working to clean up the rest. 8) Department Heads reported. Kokesch: there have been numerous pump issues and lots of expense, a temporary chlorinaon pump is installed at the ponds; connues to work with the nursing home on the liſt staon issues; there was vandalism at the tennis court park, looking for replacement parts; sheriff to be nofied of campers staying past 7 days at the boatlanding; discussed campers parked on streets, visibility issues, sheriff nofied; approved moving R. Thompson water meter as it is a liability issue; presented request for water spigot at City Hall for Caish Days, ques- oned if need warranted expense. Tabled Ambulance appointments and Bylaw changes for lack of informaon. Ped- erson presented: Lions request for $200 for Caish Days, approved; researched peanut product use in public build- ings, is allowable, cleaning following is essenal; new state laws regarding ordinances and Sunday liquor; reported on Washington D.C. trip with MN Assoc. This is located on the Museum Grounds as well. Myron Lindeman plays the pump organ and we sing-a-long to celebrate our Nation! Charlie Dunlevy will also be performing! Free Will Donation event with pro-ceeds going to fix the sidewalk by the church!
