Part I

Probationary Police Officer Log

Preview: The Field Training Program will consist of six phases. The Orientation Phase will be a

joint effort between the CGPD Training Section and the FTP. Subsequently, there will be four

phases of Field Training in which the PPO will be directly assigned to an FTO. The fifth Phase will

be a SOLO phase in which the PPO will be observed for the remainder of his probation period while

operating alone.

Instructions: It is the responsibility of the FTO or Respective Instructor to document

satisfactory completion throughout this Trainee log. FTO or Respective Instructor shall

initial each column upon completion. The completion of this log must be done prior to

entering the Silent Phase and presented to the FTL for inspection.

Standard Police Vehicle:

A standard police vehicle is described as a standard-factory issued, full sized, city-owned vehicle,

capable of safe, high-performance emergency operation, without interior or exterior alterations that

would inhibit normal operation by all sworn personnel. Said vehicle shall include the following:
