The Chinese development model is shifting : the 13th 5-Year Plan (2016-2020) acknowledges the transition towards domestic consumption, the fight against climate change and eco-responsible targets for urbanization. To reach the ambitious commitments made at the COP 21, the next generation of Chinese cities requires a large deployment of solutions in technologies and equipment, but also in planning, governance and public-private partnerships.

In the real-estate market, a more favorable environment is enabling investors to diversify their portfolios by investing in more Tier-2 cities in China as well as in sustainable urban projects throughout Europe. More than ever, Europe and China need to consolidate their partnerships for smarter and more sustainable urbanization and for better real estate investments.

CHINESE URBAN DEVELOPMENT

After Hong Kong in 2015, Shenzhen in 2016, and Ningbo in 2018, the 2019 Green & Smart City Awards will be held in Nanning, the capital of the Guangxi Region. For the fourth time, this distinction rewards the public policies, strategies and projects put in place by cities in Europe and China in favor of a smart city and sustainable development. The award can also honour a project under development. Established by the Fondation Prospective & Innovation-FPI-, chaired by M.Jean-Pierre Raffarin (Former Prime Minister of France) and the China Center for Urban Development-CCUD-, a subsidiary of the State Agency, The National Development and Reform Commission - NDRC-, this Award recognizes European and Chinese cities for their achievements in urban sustainability.

GREEN & SMART CITY AWARDSDuring this special event, 60 cities from all over Europe and China exchange their best practices, intensify cooperation and showcase the most innovative solutions for building the city of tomorrow. Granted by a jury composed of European and Chinese experts, the Green & Smart City Awards honour Chinese and European local communities for their initiatives aimed at building a sustainable city.

BENEFITS OF YOUR PARTICIPATION

How the Forum and the Awards Ceremony will unfold :Chaired by Mr. Jean-Pierre RAFFARIN, President of Fondation Prospective et Innovation and by Mr. SHI Yulong, Director of The China Center for Urban Development, the awards ceremony takes place during a gala dinner bringing together policy makers, City leaders, European and Chinese entrepreneurs and experts in sustainable cities. Evaluation criteria :Cities will be evaluated according to the qualitative and quantitative information given in their registration file. Project quality, not the size of city, is the determining factor. Application deadline and requirements : The city must send the application form fully completed before 30/04/2019 and confirm Partner & Supplier contact information. To be awarded the prize, the city must also commit to bringing a representative to the award ceremony to be held in Nanning on September 27, 2019.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE

THE CITY PACKAGE INCLUDES :- Access for 2 people to the 3-Day Forum (Conferences, Round-table discussions and other opportunities to share experiences)- 2 Invitations to the Awards Ceremony GALA- Hotel accomodations : 3 nights in a 5* hotel- All meals and all transportation in Nanning- Interpreters available for the 3 days NOT INCLUDED in the Package : Travel to Nanning and Visa fees. These must be organized by the City Come with members of your local stakeholder ecosystem to promote the value of innovative partnerships for urban sustainability.
