Dear IT Management Professional:

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Networkers, which has grown into Cisco Live, our annual IT and communications conference. Much has changed since that first conference in 1989. But one thing remains as true today as it was then: knowledge is power. That simple phrase is the perfect theme for Cisco Live 2009. Innovative, creative, and knowledgeable people and businesses will always have a powerful competitive edge. In a challenging econ-omy, it’s even more vital to understand the trends that are redefining IT, so you can help your company weather today’s uncertainties and prepare for new opportunities in the future.

We realize the value of your time and have designed this year’s conference to be the most relevant and worthwhile customer event of the year. Our curriculum of more than 400 sessions is organized by functional tracks, so you can focus on the content relevant to your company and management role, or you can expand your knowledge base by exploring new concepts and emerging trends.

Visit www.ciscolive.com today to reserve your spot among more than 10,000 of your industry peers. You can also find the latest information there about this year’s conference, including session descriptions, speaker bios, networking opportunities, and entertainment options.

Service ProviderProgramService Provider Program SessionsThe Service Provider Program puts the spotlight on topics that are top of mind for members of service provider organizations. With the challenges of continuous network innovation and rap-idly evolving user expectations, knowledge is one of the most powerful assets available to today’s service providers. The Service Provider Program is designed to provide attendees with the technical and business education they need to man-age diverse networks and deliver the compelling user experi-ences that drive revenue.

Technical topics designed specifically for service providers in-clude how to build and manage the application, service, and net-work layers of your infrastructure and provide the voice, video, and data experiences that today’s end users demand. Sessions cover topics such as mobile and fixed access areas (including Wi-Fi mesh, WiMAX, DOCSIS, metro optical, and pseudowires), distribution and core transport, and routing technologies. You can also explore in detail topics such as application optimization in the transport for voice and video.

Managers and directors will also benefit from strategic busi-ness educational offerings that discuss the specific challenges and opportunities facing service providers — as well as all of IT and communications. In addition to these service provider-focused offerings, you’ll have the option to dive deeper into other aspects of Cisco technologies via the wide range of ses-sions offered across all Cisco Live program offerings.

“ As a service provider, Cisco Live gives me

IT Executive Symposium

At Cisco, we use our own solutions to help us connect and share informa-tion in new ways—ways that make smarter use of fiscal and natural re-sources. In other words, sustainabil-ity is just second nature to our way of doing business. But our commit-ment to being good stewards of the environment extends beyond our so-lutions. We also work hard on mini-mizing our environmental impact in the way we plan and run Cisco Live. That’s why you’ll see recycling bins throughout the conference venue. That’s why you’ll see fewer confer-ence materials on paper and more online. That’s why you’ll see shuttle buses that use clean diesel technol-ogy. We’ve learned that you don’t need to make a big impact on your environment to make a big impact on your world.

Cisco Live VirtualYour Full Conference Pass entitles you to a one-year subscription to Cisco Live Virtual, a dynamic, 3D, interactive world of content that pays dividends before and long after you attend the conference. Cisco Live Virtual makes it easy to pre-pare for the event, connect with your peers and Cisco experts at the conference, and stay engaged with the Cisco community throughout the year. You can:

• Watch informative technical sessions before you come to San Francisco

• Download session PDFs prior to the conference

• Manage your content with your virtual briefcase and My Sessions listings

• Network with your peers, Cisco experts, and Cisco partners using text and webcam-based chat rooms

• Download Cisco booth content

• Access hundreds of technical sessions and conference keynotes after the event

• Participate in live events from your workplace, including regular Second Life TechChats

Cisco customers are the most important element of Cisco Live. For 20 years, Networkers and Cisco Live have been providing the education and skills you need to be successful in your organization, offering you opportunities to meet with Cisco technical experts, and celebrating your support of Cisco products and technologies. We at Cisco are constantly look-ing for ways to improve the conference to meet your evolving needs.

The Cisco Live Customer Advisory Committee makes its debut at Cisco Live 2009. The committee is made up of nine customer representatives from a wide range of industries and company sizes. Each committee member has experienced Cisco Live or Networkers as an attendee and has volunteered his or her time to work with the Cisco Live team to represent the voice of Cisco customers in all relevant planning initiatives, including:

• Advising on overall content offering to ensure a well-rounded and relevant agenda that addresses an appropri-ate depth and breadth across all technologies, solutions, and audiences

Customer Appreciation event

Party Like It’s 1989!Remember the days when you were hungry like the wolf? When your hair was as big as your dreams? You can relive that 80s feeling at the 2009 Cisco Live 20th Anniversary Customer Appreciation Event. There’ll be food, fun, and entertainment from the decade that brought you acid-washed jeans and Rubik’s cubes. It’s our way of saying thanks for 20 great years. Highlights include:

• Amusement park rides and midway games

• An 80s music montage with:

...featuring a San francisco favorite, Notorious

Headline entertainmentYou’ll also have the chance to whip it good with DeVO — the band that pioneered geek chic.

Finally, we round out this totally tubular line up with the ultimate party band, the B-52s!

The B-52sLooking back at this band’s pioneering fusions of punk, new wave, and vintage rock, it would be tough to imagine the contemporary musi-cal landscape existing without having encoun-tered the intersected spirits of Kate Pierson, Fred Schneider, Keith Strickland, and Cindy Wilson. With hits spanning decades including “Rock Lobster,” “Love Shack,” “Dance This Mess Around,” and “Roam,” the B-52s are one of THE best party bands in history.

DeVOBy the process of natural selection, the mem-bers of this band met and shared the habits of making electronic noise, watching TV, and watching everybody else. They called what they saw around them the DE-EVOLUTION and called their music DEVO. Their many hits include “Girl U Want,” “Beautiful World,” “Work-ing in the Coal Mine,” and the classic “Whip It!”
