WELCOME TO CATS INSTITUTE FOR GLOBAL BUSINESS, WHERE WE SHAPE GLOBAL LEADERS.

Built into the CATS Academy Boston college preparatory curriculum, the CATS Institute for Global Business (CIGB) is an innovative program that focuses on teaching students to become valuable global citizens and leaders.

With the guidance of CIGB faculty, students will not only learn the core quantitative and professional communication skills required to succeed in our modern world, but will also develop decision making and ethical abilities to become effective members of the global marketplace.

Students will finish the CIGB program with global business skills that aren’t normally taught until the college and university level. That means CIGB graduates will be a step ahead for their higher education studies and for their future in the global workplace.

The CIGB program integrates core analytical, communication, and technological skills with foreign language and culture studies, all while providing a hands-on practical context to explore topics like innovation, entrepreneurship, social justice, and environmental responsibility.

As Executive Director of CIGB, I take great enjoyment in personally motivating students to develop and follow their passion for business, technology, innovation, and learning in general. I first came to the United States as a young teenager and throughout my education here, I cultivated a profound enthusiasm for practical, hands-on experiential learning. Innovation, decision making, and creativity require a global perspective. I am confident that students who have the right academic and intellectual curiosity will benefit greatly from being part of CIGB.

I am excited to welcome you to the CATS Institute for Global Business at CATS Academy Boston and personally guide you on this unique educational journey.

Dr. Uri Feldman Executive Director of CATS Institute for Global Business at CATS Academy Boston

CIGB IS A DYNAMIC PROGRAM DETERMINED BY THE STUDENTThe CATS Institute for Global Business is a ground breaking business program that educates students to develop leadership and business skills by providing them with the opportunity to forge their own pathways and depth of engagement.

Choose your direction At CATS Academy Boston we are committed to educating students who are prepared to be global leaders in their chosen field. Our students will need key skills to position themselves for success. For this reason, CIGB offers two foundation courses to all CATS students as part of the core graduation requirements. Beyond the foundation courses, CATS students choose their level of engagement with CIGB and have the opportunity to take associated electives, participate in co-curricular clubs, and dedicate themselves to the CIGB pathway that could lead to a Certificate of Excellence in Global Business upon graduation.

1. Innovative Foundation CoursesManaging finances and acquiring presentation and public speaking skills are key proficiencies that all students need to be successful, both personally and professionally. All CATS students are required to complete two semester-long courses (one year) in Personal Finance and Presentation Skills.

2. Pioneering ElectivesAll students may take any CIGB electives throughout their academic journey at CATS Academy Boston. These electives inspire creative thought, push the boundaries of accepted theory and engage students in progressive fields of study. Beginning in September 2015, CIGB will offer selected electives.

* The CIGB capstone project, typically completed during their final years at CATS Academy Boston, is a final product, presentation, or performance based on a specific topic, profession, or social problem that interests the student. The student is expected to conduct research on the subject, maintain their findings and results, and create a final product demonstrating their conclusions in a paper, short film, or presentation to a panel of CIGB faculty members who will collectively evaluate its quality. The capstone project is designed to encourage CIGB students to think critically and creatively, solve challenging problems, and enhance the skills they’ve acquired to demonstrate their own mastery and passion in business and entrepreneurship.
