Welcome Parents
Grade 9 the Beginning of HS
Academically students are expected to be more self-reliant
Students should begin to resolve academic and social issues themselves with their teacher and counselor
We continue to expect, encourage, and facilitate maturity and responsibility
Attendance Policy
The Attendance Policy can be found on our website in the online Student Handbook, the district website under Board of Ed. Policies or
the district calendar.
Prolonged or repeated absences, excused or unexcused, from school or from class, deprive students of the educational and classroom experiences deemed essential to learning and may result in retention at grade level or loss of credit.
Prolonged or repeated absences is defined as total cumulative absences exceeding 18 days in a full year course, 9 days for a semester course.
Attendance
In order to receive credit for courses in grades 9-12, a pupil’s total unexcused absences must be less than 10 days for a full year course and 5 days for a semester course.
In order to receive credit for physical education in grades 9-12, a pupil’s total absence must be less than 8 days for those enrolled 4 days a week for a full year, and less than 6 days for those enrolled for 3 days a week for a full year.
Student Identification Cards
As part of our school safety initiative all students are required to wear their IDs, and must show their ID to get into the building.
Students without an ID will be sent to the Counseling Office for a new ID and will be charged 5 dollars.
Please insure that your child has their ID each day before they leave for school, and encourage them to wear it!
