It’s a clean sweep.
Stuck on you.
Accidents can work wonders.
Geniuses need not apply.
Keep your trousers on.
故选 A 。
Great Ideas (the subject of the reading passage) 。

Tapescript1 All children have gifts and some of them are highly gifted.
They may have a talent for music and art. They may excel at sports or in dance, or be scientifically or technically creative. Very often, gifted children have outstanding intellectual potential.
Parents often ask about the “signs” of giftedness. Please bear in mind that the following are only examples; not every child will display all these characteristics. Gifted children often: walk and talk early; have great physical and mental energy; seem to need less sleep than children of the same age; show great curiosity about the world around them; are particularly interested in cause and effect, and in fundamental questions such as the meaning of life and death; ask lots of questions; have a superior vocabulary; talk fluently; learn to read early.
Tapescript2
Children of high intelligence often seek the
company of older children, as well as that of
adults. They often prefer games and hobbies
which are usually associated with older children.
Whatever form of exceptional ability a child may
show, the best preparation for growing up is to
have lived fully as a child. There are times when a
child, however clever, will want to play and act like
other children, and he or she should be allowed
and encouraged to do so. (215 words)

Tapescript
At weekends and during the holidays, there aren’t many who would willingly stay indoors working away on a word processor.
But that’s exactly what 16-year-old Richard Hayes does and it's paid off. For his first book The Secret Army has just been published, his second one is coming out in the autumn and he's in the middle of writing the third.
Here's how hard Richard, who lives in London, has to work.
“I try to write for an hour every weekday evening after I’ve done my homework and had supper and perhaps watched some television,” he says. “Then on Sundays I’ll try to do about five or six hours and I might produce about 10 to 15 pages of the book from that.”
“I’ve written The Secret Army at least three times and while I was finishing the final version I was spending about 12 hours a day on it. But I really enjoyed it--the book almost wrote itself.”
“I'm studying at the moment at Holland Park School, London, so homework has to come before everything else. I’ll be glad when the summer holidays come; then I can get on with my third book.”
He always wanted to be an author and also felt very confident about the book. “I knew The Secret Army would be published some time. I met a literary agent at a party last summer and he offered to read it. Then he told Macmillan's publishers about it and they seemed quite keen.”
“But I had to do a fantastic amount of cutting down and editing out words and characters and some rewriting, too.”
“I’ve lived with the story now for about four years, as I wrote the very first version when I was 12 years old. It’s a great thrill to see it finally in print.”
I Believe I can Fly
I used to think that I could not go onAnd life was nothing but an awful songBut now I know the meaning of true loveI'm leaning on the everlasting arms Chorus:If I can see it, then I can do itIf I just believe it, there’s nothing to itI believe I can flyI believe I can touch the skyI think about it every night and daySpread my wings and fly away I believe I can soarI see me running through that open doorI believe I can fly
See I was on the verge of breaking down
Sometimes silence, it can seem so loud
There are miracles in life I must achieve
But first I know it starts inside of me
Chorus:
If I can see it, then I can be it
If I just believe it, there’s nothing to it
I believe I can fly
I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away
I believe I can soar
I see me running through that open door
Chorus:
I believe I can fly
Yeah, ’cause I believe in you
If I can see it (wooh), then I can do it (I can do it)
If I just believe it, there’s nothing to it
I believe I can fly (wooh)
I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away
I believe I can soar
I see me running through that open door
I believe I can fly (I can fly)
I believe I can fly (I can fly)
I believe I can fly (I can fly)
If I just spread my wings (I can fly)
I can fly (I can fly)
I can fly (I can fly)
I can fly (hey! I can fly)
If I just spread my wings (I can fly)
I can fly (I can fly, I can fly, I can fly, I can fly)
