THE LIGHT HAS COME: GOOD NEWS Luke 4:18-19 (pg 1,030) Pastor Dan Beyer

Please silence electronic devices. Thank you!

Hello friends & family! I miss you all & I know you miss me. Things here in California are far better than I could’ve ever imagined. The Lord is invad-ing my life like never before. The more I’ve gotten to know his heart, the more I realize that He just loves hanging out & getting to know me. It’s a relationship, not a religion. God isn't about rules, he’s about relationship, & obedience to him comes from that relationship. I’ve realized that saying “no” to sin simply doesn’t work, but saying YES to him does. He must be the big YES in our lives. Freedom doesn’t come from focusing on not sin-ning, rather, it comes from focusing on the One who is without sin. The Lord is showing me that we, as sons & daughters of the King, are so much more powerful than we realize! We don’t have to reach for the Kingdom. It is among us. The Kingdom of Heaven is inside us! We all carry it & it’s up to us as ambassadors to let it out, & let it be shown to the world, so that the world may know who we are & where we come from, so they can dis-cover who they are as well. For we all come from the same loving Creator, & his desire is that no one should perish, but that all may know his wonder-ful love. He’s not out to get us. He’s not about pointing out our faults & shortcomings (though he does correct us). He wants to call out the gold & beauty in us! If he calls us beautiful, are we not beautiful? If I discredit my-self, I’m discrediting the One who formed me. You can’t insult a painting without insulting the artist. And I can honestly say with confidence that God did a marvelous job painting me. Needless to say, these past few months have been extraordinary. God is revealing to me who I am, who I was born to be, & why I was put on this earth. I’m experiencing Him in ways I never knew I could! I’ve never felt so alive. The relationships I’ve begun to form here are ones of true love & joy. And now in my heart, a truth that’s been spoken to me so many times, but never really hit home until now, has been permanently planted: God is good all the time! -Alex VanOtteren
