A Message from Brian Bedard, President/CEO When I walk down Main Street in Elim Park, I can sense the hum of life that infuses this community. This is a testament to the many ways we strive to enrich lives to the fullest. The leadership at Elim Park is committed to constant listening in the midst of each new season of planning and implementing improvements. When I think of our mission to “honor God in all we do,” I am reminded of His instruction in Luke 6:31 to, “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” This encourages me to lead the way in enabling people to live a full and carefree lifestyle, and customize their Elim Park apartment into the home they want by providing as many choices as we can imagine. For those who call Elim Park home, we recently added free Wi-Fi and Connected Living, a Web-based platform that allows residents and their families to access information in one place and engage in activities on campus. Soon an ice cream parlor will be a community gathering place for residents and their families. And I can assure you, the dreams for the future at Elim Park don’t stop there. I hope you’ll visit and take a walk down Main Street to experience the bustle for yourself. We’d love to meet you. A few months ago, Dorothy Zeiser moved into a cozy, corner apartment home at Elim Park. “My Mom said the time she lived at a retirement community were ten of the best years of her life,” Dorothy explains. “So when my sisters and I got into our seventies, we started visiting

around. We saw quite a few.”Though she had started

planning, Dorothy expected her move to be in the distant future.

When her daughter, a Cheshire resident, recommended that Dorothy visit Elim Park, it took Dorothy a

while to follow-up. When she did, she says, “It knocked my socks off!”What she saw convinced Dorothy to consider

accelerating her timeline. She didn’t want to give up her busy lifestyle, but she recognized that moving

to Elim Park would not require her to adapt to a new way of living. “I still drive. I stay active.

Elim Park allows me to continue my lifestyle with the promise of preserving

it as time goes on.”“I feel I couldn’t be luckier,” she

says. Though Dorothy is still settling in, she plans to take advantage of the many exercise programs offered at the fitness center on campus. She also looks forward to enjoying performances at Nelson Hall.

The move from West Hartford to Cheshire brought Dorothy closer to her family. This

has allowed her to help care for her grandchildren when the need

arises.“It’s a wonderful atmosphere,”

Dorothy concludes. “And it’s because of the wonderful people here. It’s pretty

splendid.”
