文化创意产业是指那些从个人的创造力、技能和天分中获取发展动力的企业，以及那些通过对知识产权的开发可创造潜在财富和就业机会的活动。文化创意产业主要包括广播影视、音像、广告、建筑、视觉艺术、表演艺术、服装设计、电影、传媒、软件和计算机服务等方面的创意群体。文化创意产业在国内外已成为主要的经济力量。自从英国政府1998年正式提出“创意经济”的概念以来，发达国家和地区提出了以创意为基础的经济发展模式,发展创意产业已经被提到了发展的战略层面。 文化创意产业有着巨大经济效益和社会效益，世界各国政府都对这一产业的发展给予了特别关注和高度重视。
The cultural and creative industries refer to a range of economic activities which are concerned with the generation or exploitation of knowledge and information.
Comprised of industries such as TV and radio, music, advertising, architecture, art, performing arts, fashion, film, software, computer service, etc. Creative industries have become a dominant economic force both in China and abroad.
The term ‘creative industries’, formalized in the UK in 1998, has become a realm of economic exchange acknowledged and supported politically. Since then, developed countries have put forward similar economic models based on creativity, and creative industries have been brought up as national strategies. The economic and social potential of creative industries today is highly recognized by the developed world.
在中国调整经济结构、转变经济发展方式的大背景下，以文化创意、知识产权和高科技为核心内容的文化创意产业发展迅速。在国家一系列政策的扶植和推动下，文化创意产业呈现井喷式增长，被看成投资回报最好的行业之一。文化创意产业将成为我国经济的支柱产业。
In the background of economic restructuring and transformation, cultural and creative industries have developed especially fast in China. Fostered and promoted by official policies, the rapid growth of China’s creative industries runs in parallel with their high economic returns. There is no doubt that cultural and creative industries will become a pillar of China’s economy.

一些基础较好的城市，如深圳、北京和上海，文化产业更是经济发展的支撑力量。 创意产业的重要性已经蔓延到其他地区。为了全力促进西部经济文化升级和可持续发展， 四川省成都市2014成立创意文化产业商会， 旨在打造中国西部创意文化产业核心驱动平台。屹立在成都锦江区，乃至整个中国西部， 爱盒子是体现文化创意产业之新地标。
For cities in China with stronger economic foundations, such as Shenzhen, Beijing, and Shanghai, cultural and creative industries have become the core support to their economic development.
More recently, the importance of creative industries has spread to other regions. In 2014 a branch of China’s “Creative and Cultural Industry Association” was launched in Chengdu, with the objective to provide a platform for creative industries in West China.
In this context, iBOX stands as a bold new cultural landmark not only for creative industry in the JinJiang district of Chengdu, but in West China as well.

英国是高度重视并率先提出创意产业理念和用政策激励创意产业发展的国家。 这使伦敦在成为世界的经济、金融、贸易中心之后，日益成为引导世界创意潮流的创意中心。
作为创意设计界领军企业，英国年度最佳建筑师事务所霍金斯布朗(H\B) 对伦敦的城市创意建设作出巨大贡献， 例如H\B的项目 ‘Here East’, 该项目旨在将教育、商业、科技已经媒体行业聚拢在一起，形成拉动创意产业及创业人才的主要力量。
爱盒子是H\B对中国创意的第一个贡献。 H\B不但担任了设计打造爱盒子的主建筑师, 还入驻了爱盒子。H\B 的设计注入了国际创新设计资源， 也发扬了公司注重社交的主旨， 把爱盒子打造成促进交流合作的创意村庄。
In Britain, the introduction of national policy incentives to foster creative industry significantly impacted urban developments in cities such as London.
As a pioneer in creative industry, the award winning British practice Hawkins Brown Architects (H\B) continues to contribute to the city of London’s urban landscape under these new policies, with projects such as Here East capturing the imagination of citizens and politicians alike, sparking new growth in the city.
iBOX Chengdu is the firm’s first contribution to China’s creative industries. H\B has not only launched a satellite office in iBOX, but has also acted as the executive designer for the project. H\B’s design ideas bring in international innovative resources, and insert its focus on social themes, thus making iBOX a creative village as well as a platform for production and exchange.

Nature unfolds itself into the site, and the way the scale of the buildings are smaller than the other buildings around. It creates a very nice contrast with the existing fabric of Chengdu. I think it will be the tremendous asset to the city going forward.

iBOX provides some attractions in its bold form and presence. It is experimental in a way that a wide spectrum of people try to accept its bare-bone architecture, which is a visible trend and people are adapting to it. iBOX hosts a wide variety of cultural activities, though not mature yet to be recognized as a cultural icon, it is improving.
