Horse Arrivals arriving through Greenville-SpartanburgHorses arriving through Greenville-Spartanburg (GSP) by plane will do their Post ArrivalQuarantine (PAQ) at the venue before going into their designated stables. PAQ is onsiteunder the jurisdiction of the USDA.

Horse Arrivals arriving through Miami or Chicago

Horses arriving by plane through Miami or Chicago will do their Post Arrival Quarantine(PAQ) at those airports. They will then be transported to TIEC and enter the venue withDomestic Horse arrivals before going into their designated stables.

Visitors from non-visa waiver countries will need to obtain a temporary visa. Most visacategories, particularly those intended for participants and officials involved in a sports-relatedevent are:

You can apply for a U.S. nonimmigrant visa by first filling out the DS-160 online application. Afteryou submit your application, you can move on to the next steps, such as signing up for aninterview at the U.S. Embassy in your country.

National Federation TransportOC will provide rental vehicles for each Chef de Mission and each discipline team. Thesewill consist of cars and vans depending on the size of the discipline team to include thefollowing:

Chefs de Mission,Chefs d’Equipe,Athletes,Grooms,Team Veterinarians,Vaulting Attendants,Vaulting Lungers andVaulting National Trainers.

This service will be available from September 1st until September 25th.

Car PassesIn addition to the vehicles provided by the OC, one additional car pass will be provided perdiscipline at no charge to park at the venue.Additional car passes for general parking areas will be available for purchase for additional NFparking needs.

Shipping containersThe OC can facilitate the unloading of 20’ containers. Larger containers that require a craneoff-load is at the cost of the Federation and will need to be facilitated with the OC.The venue can begin receiving shipping containers on August 15 and must arrive no laterthan September 7. Ideally, all containers should arrive by September 1. Arrivals afterSeptember 1 must be specially approved by the OC.

PodsPod storage will be available onsite for teams. Pricing will be available in due course.Shipping container and POD storage will be in a designated area behind Barn 7.

National Federation AccommodationNF rooms covered by the OC must be booked through the Housing Bureau, Connections Housing.

Housing Connections is beginning to send NF hotel cluster assignments out to NF contacts this week.

Disciplines will be assigned to hotels within 5 miles/8 kilometers of each other in the following areas.

Connections Housing will be able to accommodate additional NF discipline staff within these clustersbased on availability.

FarrierFarriers will be available from the day the first horse arrives at the venue and remain on-siteuntil the final horse leaves the venue.

Farrier stations will be located adjacent to stabling areas.

Forges and equipment will be available for the NF Farriers’ use.

Mobile forges will also be available by warm-up arenas (or equivalent) during thecompetition with everything necessary to replace a shoe quickly. This service will be free ofcharge for NFs.

During competition, two to three further farriers will be on-venue during the day at all times.

Outside of the opening hours of the forge, an emergency service will be available.

Catering and Hospitality

NF CateringThere will be two main catering locations – a main location behind Barn 7 and a satellite, 24 hourlocation behind Barn 4.

Grooms will have access to the catering locations starting the day their horse arrives throughwhen their horse departs.

All other NF members with meals covered by the OC will have access to catering free of chargefrom 1 day before the discipline’s Horse inspection to 1 day after the end of the discipline’scompetition.

Additional meal access for outside of these periods (including from stables opening) and foradditional staff will be available at NF cost. Details regarding the process and costs for additionalmeals will be available by April 30.

Grab & Go options will be available.

Food will be available at the start area of each Endurance, Cross-Country and Marathon onthose competition days.

Media and Communication

Athlete Communications & Interviews

Pre-Event

When in need of fulfilling athlete interview requests from members of the media, wewill work with you directly to gain appropriate access to your federations athletes in atimely manner per each request.

We anticipate as we get closer to September, the number of pre-event requestaccess to athletes via the press will increase, most importantly after team selections.

If needed, we can help you prepare information statements about the event andprogress of the venue in relation to sport, accommodations, ticketing, if questionsarise or become prominent in NF communications with the media.

We will work directly with each NF Press Officer to coordinate specific interviewrequests pre-event.

Athlete Communications & Interviews

During Event

The FEI Communications Team and the Tryon Communications & Marketing Teamwill enforce mandated guidelines during the event in regards to media access toathletes outside of official press conferences and NF-organized interviews.

Media will NOT be allowed in the stabling area – only on a case by case basis will thePress Operations Team and FEI Communications Team determined if access tostabling will be granted.

If a member of the media requests an in-person interview with a rider, the PressOperations team will coordinate directly with the representing NF Press Officer fordirect access to athletes.

There will be a Chill-Out Zone in the Media Center, as well as an I-Zone near theMixed Zone for more casual interviews with athletes pre and post competition.

All Chefs de Mission, Chefs d’Equipe, Athletes, team personnel and especially medalists and placed athletes are requested to make themselves available for interviews when requested by the FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2018 Tryon Media Team. In addition, all Athletes will be obliged to pass through the flash interview and mixed zones after competing.All medalists, placed athletes and the best US athlete of the respective discipline are obliged to attend the Press Conference at the end of the day of competition. Other persons may be requested by media, and their presence would be greatly appreciated upon request of the FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2018 in Tryon Media Team. Team Kiss & Cry Areas: Each stadium will have a “Team Kiss and Cry” area to which a maximum of 7 persons pertaining to the relevant Athlete currently in the arena will be allowed. Up to 16 persons will be permitted during the vaulting squad competition.

Opening and Closing Ceremonies

Opening Ceremony: Chefs de Mission, Chefs d’Equipe, Athletes, grooms and team staff/officials from all NFs represented at the FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2018 in Tryon will be invited by the OC to the Opening Ceremony with their national uniforms (without horses) to take part in the Opening Ceremony on Tuesday, September 11th, 2018 from 6pm in the Main Stadium.

Closing Ceremony: Chefs de Mission, Chefs d’Equipe, Athletes, grooms and team staff/officials from all NFs represented at the FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2018 in Tryon will be invited by the OC to the Closing Ceremony on Sunday, September 23rd, 2018 from 6pm in the Main Stadium.

Accounts and RatesPrior to the start of WEG, each NF will be required to authorize a credit card to establish a Master Account. They will need to provide a list of those people authorized to charge to the account.

A WEG Rate Sheet will be provided for NFs including but not limited to thefollowing items:
