TRUSTTRUST
Israel believed but didn’t trust Israel believed but didn’t trustThe people of Israel arose and went up to Bethel
and inquired of God, “Who shall go up first for us to fight against the people of Benjamin?” And the LORD
said, “Judah shall go up first.” (Judges 20:18 ESV)
And the people of Israel went up and wept before the LORD until the evening. And they inquired of the
LORD, “Shall we again draw near to fight against our brothers, the people of Benjamin?” And the LORD
said, “Go up against them.” (Judges 20:23 ESV)

And the people of Israel inquired of the LORD (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days, and
Phinehas the son of Eleazar, son of Aaron, ministered before it in those days), saying, “Shall we go out once
more to battle against our brothers, the people of Benjamin, or shall we cease?” And the LORD said,
“Go up, for tomorrow I will give them into your hand.” (Judges 20:27-28 ESV)
Then Abraham reached out his hand and took the knife to slaughter his son. But
the angel of the LORD called to him from heaven and said, “Abraham, Abraham!”
And he said, “Here I am.” He said, “Do not lay your hand on the boy or do anything to
him, for now I know that you fear God, seeing you have not withheld your son,
your only son, from me.” (Genesis 22:10-12 ESV)

Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be
120 years.” (Genesis 6:3 ESV)But Noah found favor in the eyes of the
LORD. (Genesis 6:8 ESV)
Are they servants of Christ? I am a better one—I am talking like a madman—with far greater labors, far more
imprisonments, with countless beatings, and often near death. Five times I received at the hands of the Jews the forty lashes
less one. Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked; a night and a day I
was adrift at sea; on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, danger from my own people, danger
from Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brothers; in toil and hardship,
through many a sleepless night, in hunger and thirst, often without food, in cold and exposure. And, apart from other
things, there is the daily pressure on me of my anxiety for all the churches. Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made
to fall, and I am not indignant? (2 Corinthians 11:23-29 ESV)

Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness
as the light, and your justice as the noonday. Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his
way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Refrain from anger, and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil. For the evildoers
shall be cut off, but those who wait for the LORD shall inherit the land. (Psalm 37:4-9 ESV)
Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.
(Psalm 62:8 ESV)
