Winners’ Stories
Nigel will spend his £1000 on visiting his daughter overseas
“I never dreamed I’d win! The PTCs are so valuable that’s why I play the lottery and I continue my support in retirement.”
George flew over from his home in Northern Ireland to enjoy the Yorkshire Cricket tickets he won in one of our Superdraws
“I had a super three days in Leeds and had a fantastic time at the cricket. Thank you once again and regards to all.”
Pete keeps up the good exercise habit he gained at the PTCs
“Having used the PTCs for physio more than once, I was more than happy to join the lottery to give something back to hopefully help others.”
Joanna couldn’t believe her luck
“I cannot thank the staff enough for the kind and caring attention I received on all my visits to Castlebrae. I joined the lottery as I wanted to give something back to the Centre.”
Ian was speechless to win
“Thanks so much for the prize, but thanks so much more for the care and support you give serving and retired officers every single day.”
Jim did good things with his £2000
“It was a shock to win! I have booked a holiday and I intend to give a donation to the cancer unit.”
Jim also gave the PTCs a return donation!
Mark won a voucher for 4-ball at Gleneagles in a Superdraw
“Joining the PTC Lottery was a bit of a no-brainer – anything that puts something back into these fantastic facilities has got to be worth a couple of quid a month.”
We’ve made over 500 winners since the Police Treatment Centres lottery started in 2013! That’s lots of happy people, even though most of them think winning is a bonus when their main reason for playing is to lend us their support.

The Police Treatment Centres provides comprehensive police-specific treatment for around 4,000 officers each year at St Andrews in Harrogate, North Yorkshire and Castlebrae in Auchterarder, Perthshire. Our treatment involves intensive job-specific physiotherapy or support for psychological wellbeing, including workshops, counselling and complementary therapies.
It costs us £4 million per year to meet the needs of our patients, the majority of which comes from the donations of Serving and Retired Officers. As budget cuts lead to fewer officers on the beat, the need for fundraising initiatives like the PTC Lottery is more and more important.
This is what our treatment means to our patients:
“The physios, nurses and therapists all work together as a team to provide the best possible care to each individual patient. This is supported by the centre staff who are excellent. Everyone
has the same aim – to help people, and that comes across in bucket loads. I think every aspect of the PTC is absolutely top
drawer. All just what I needed. Perfect!”
