Eric Trang
Eric Trang is more than just a regu-
lar member. He gives so much
time and effort into the club. He
goes to the 6 AM events, events
that are more then 3 hours, and
exemplified that within a month
time. He showed great spirit at our
Sprinkler Sprint event and good
effort at the Kiwanis fireworks
booth. He has not only dedication,
but love for our club.

Even through the slow sales, working the firework booth was definitely an interesting experience. Who knew that there could be so many fireworks? It was a nice, relax-ing day hanging out with fellow key clubbers, listening to music, and selling fireworks. Let's not forget about the wondrous fan that kept turning off in the morning heat! Helping out people choose fireworks to light up their Fourth of July and Kiwanis to sell them was a good way to spend the morning. This is definitely an event that I would do again next summer!

Summer School Snack Selling
The summer school snack selling is such a nice event to bond with
members and do service at the same time. There’s always a certain
time when all the kids have a lunch break, so we are pretty busy during
that time period. During the other times, we just have a snack our-
selves because our advisor, Ms. Wong, makes/brings delicious foods
for the volunteers. I believe our sales are doing very well. Overall, I
think this is a great way to pump up the service in the summer!

There is no doubt that summer in Las Vegas means extreme heat and
awkward tan lines, but that didn't stop the Division 28 Key Club mem-
bers from attending the July DCM. Unlike most Division Council Meet-
ings, this was a Joint DCM that united members from all across the city.
Our outstanding Lieutenant Governors flawlessly executed this meeting,
giving us tons of information from International Convention & Spring
Board Training Conference, as well as updates about our Region Train-
ing Conference. This DCM definitely cured us members from our Key
Club withdrawals, and it got us super excited for the upcoming year. An-
ticipation is in the air as we all prepare for a service-filled year celebrating
service, leadership, and family!

Check Your Seats in the Heat!
The Check Your Seats in the Heat event was a great opportunity to spread
awareness to our community. While we passed out ribbons to shoppers at
our local Smith's, we were able to pass along the message that summer is a
very dangerous time to leave anything alone in the backseat of your car.
Even though we were distributing information about this issue, a few of
the shoppers stopped to talk to us about their knowledge of our cause,
which allowed us to learn even more. I hope we are able to participate in
more events like this in the future!

President’s Message
Can you believe it’s already the middle of summer? I
hope everyone enjoyed our past events so far, and is
excited for our upcoming events! They will be filled
with service and fun. I know summer is going by slow-
ly for some of you, so a great way to make this sum-
mer memorable is to help out at our events. Remem-
ber to send me articles after an event to be featured in
a newsletter like this and receive half an hour of ser-
vice! It’s a great way to get started on earning hours to
get inducted this winter or spring. I hope you guys
find my pencil and notify me. Have a great rest of the summer!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer. As a
club we've been doing well; having numerous
events, lots of spirit, and a lot of participation. Eve-
ryone in our club is truly amazing for this and I
hope we can keep this up. Be sure to keep partici-
pating in events and if you haven't already done so,
check out our website for upcoming events and
news made by our wonderful bulletin editor, Holly
Wong! We have a great year ahead of us and I am
glad I am going to be able to share it with all of you!
