It’s official we have moved offices on October 9, 2012 to our new location on 56 Albert Street in Clinton. Please join us for some food, prizes, fun and a tour at our Grand Opening on Saturday November 3 from 10:00 am to 2:00. Our new office is conveniently located across from the MTO license office and we have lots of parking for our customers. In September Una and I travelled to Ottawa to learn some new ideas from our mastermind group. It is great learning and sharing experiences with other business owners who are working hard every day in the real world. While in Ottawa we spent two days exploring our nation’s capital and enjoyed our tours of the Parliament buildings and the Canadian War Museum. As part of our mastermind course we went to the Shepherd of Good Hope Homeless Shelter in Ottawa. We truly got to witness first hand people in despair who have nothing. Our experience really put our life into perspective and made our problems seem trivial. After we toured the facility and saw the kitchen, that serves 1800 meals a day, we volunteered two hours in the soup kitchen and our group made a $2000.00 donation to help a great cause. While in Ottawa we got to meet the assistant coach of the Ottawa senators Dave Cameron. You may remember him as the coach of the World Junior Team that gave up a 3-0 lead, in the third period, to loose to the Russians at the 2011 World Junior Championships in Buffalo. Dave did an inspirational talk about how failure is an event not a person. He talked about how as a professional you can not let one game define your career. One last final note we have just learned that our Brokerage has been nominated as one of the three finalists for Insurance Brokerage of the Year by the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario. We are pleased to be nominated with some great other brokerages and we will find out how we made out later this month. Have a great month and a safe Halloween. Read This!
With all the decisions you make in a day, decision
fatigue can hit you pretty quickly. You may make
poor choices or feel overwhelmed. “It takes mental
energy to do things in life,” says psychologist Kath-
leen Vohs, professor of marketing at the University
of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
“When you make a bunch of decisions, it zaps some
of that energy.”
Embrace these tips to keep your selection process
running smoothly:
Stick to the familiar. Picking a default eliminates
the need to make a decision, Vohs says. Order the
same drink at Starbucks each morning, but allow
yourself a different drink for special occasions.
Ask for a little help. Have a trusted family member
or friend make decisions for you, such as choosing a
meal plan for the week or scheduling outings for the
weekend, Vohs suggests.
Go back to nature. Feeling fatigued before the 4
p.m. meeting? Take a look out the window or make
your screen saver show mountains or corn fields.
Studies find that nature scenes can restore and regen-
erate attention, Vohs says.
Eat What You Want Using
These Chefs' Secrets
For chefs, sticking to a healthy weight while surrounded by delicious food can be a real challenge. Alli-
son Adato, author of Smart Chefs Stay Slim: Lessons in Eating and Living From America’s Best Chefs,
spills the secrets:
Eat what you want. Chefs eat what they love without guilt. Instead of putting foods on a banned list,
chefs reach less often for such foods as bread and sugar. “Chefs would say there’s nothing that you
should never eat,” Adato says. Everything in moderation.
Eat dessert — but know what and why. Craving chocolate? Go for it, but don’t go overboard. Most
chefs crave “straight-up dark chocolate, usually in bar form,” Adato says. One square or chunk of choc-
olate does the trick. Chefs agree: The smaller the serving of dessert, the better.
Don’t linger. Good conversation and company make for great dinner parties, but stop eating when
you’re full, regardless of company. Use smaller portions, and you won’t be tempted to eat until the dish
is gone. Enjoy your food slowly, and pay attention to your body — it gets satisfied quickly.

End The Pain of Migraine It's like having a nail driven through your head:
That’s how some describe the concentrated, throb-
bing pain of a migraine. It’s often accompanied by
blurred vision, nausea and vomiting, and extreme
sensitivity to light and noise. And it can last up to
three days.
Roughly 30 million Americans get migraines, three
times more women than men — but sufferers can
find relief. Your doctor may prescribe medications to
lessen the severity or frequency of headaches; life-
style changes, such as a consistent sleep schedule
and healthy weight, also can help. Even alternative
treatments may work: Research shows acupuncture
may be effective.
Here are some other research-backed remedies, but
talk to your doctor first.
Botox. You might know it for smoothing wrinkles,
but botulinum toxin type A is also Food and Drug
Administration-approved to treat chronic migraines
in adults. Scientists at the University of Granada re-
cently identified trigger points in the head and neck
muscles for migraines and confirmed that injecting
botox into specific spots reduces the frequency of
attacks.
Exercise. Migraine sufferers might skip the gym,
afraid that working out will provoke one, but scien-
tists in Sweden found that exercise can be as effec-
tive as medication at preventing migraines. If you do
work out, warm up slowly, stay hydrated, and be
aware of exposure to humidity or hot or cold weath-
er, which can trigger an attack.
Supplements. Some evidence suggests that high
doses of riboflavin may prevent migraines, and coen-
zyme Q10 may decrease the frequency of the head-
ache. Research indicates the herbs feverfew and but-
terbur can help prevent attacks.
