Link is pleased to inform that the 125thanniversary celebrations organised by the IEEE MadrasSection at the MIT Campus of Anna University wasa grand success with 250 plus participating in variousactivities held in the day long programme on 27thAug 2009. This milestone event had addresses bydignitaries such as Dr. John Vig, IEEE President,Dr. P. Mannar Jawahar, VC, Anna Univ. Chennai

and invited talks by Dr. M. Anandakrishnan, Chairman, IIT Kanpur &IIT Rajasthan and Science City, Chennai and Dr. Ashok Jhunjhunwala,IEEE Fellow & Prof. of EE, IIT Madras. The afternoon events focused onstudents were informative and delightful. A short report and select photo-graphs of the event appear in this issue of LINK. More pictures relating tothe event are at the section website at http://ewh.ieee.org/r10/madras/. Linkwishes to place on record the leadership of Dr. T. Thiyagarajan, Secretaryand the Chairman, Dr. S. Salivahanan and the Execom members of theSection in the smooth conduct of this mega event of the year.

Brief reports of the events by the IEEE Computer Society such asWorkshop on “COMSOL Multiphysics Modeling”, CIO Meet on “TurningInformation into Business Insight” and the Launch of the BI Product –MicroStrategy 9 appear in this issue of LINK along with an article “Technol-ogy for Sustainable Development” based on the invited talk by Dr. M.Anandkrishnan and the details of IAS Madras Chapter activities.

It gives me pleasure to mention that theIEEE Madras Section, the largest Section inmembership and no. of student branches, hascelebrated the IEEE’s 125th Anniversary on 27thAugust 2009 at Anna University, M.I.T.

Campus. Dr. John Vig, IEEE President joined us to deliver the presidentialaddress. Dr. P. Mannar Jawahar, Vice Chancellor, Anna UniversityChennai inaugurated the function. There were two invited lectures byDr. M. Anandakrishnan, Chairman, IIT Kanpur & Chairman, ScienceCity, Chennai and Dr. Ashok Jhunjhunwala, IEEE Fellow, Professor ofElectrical Engineering, IIT Madras. On behalf of the IEEE Madras Section,I sincerely thank all the above dignitaries for their presence and activeinvolvement in this function. The present & past chairpersons of IEEEMadras Section, the chairpersons of society chapters & WIE and GOLDaffinity groups, Execom members of the Section and volunteers whoseselfless contributions have made it possible to conduct this milestoneevent.

The students had an opportunity to interact with the IEEEPresident Dr. John Vig, experts and IEEE Regional office bearers.Students presented a cultural program at the end of the function. About250 delegates participated in this mega event. The credit for the successfulconduct of this event goes to all the Execom members and office staff ofIEEE Madras Section and the student volunteers. Our special thanks toDr. T. Thiyagarajan, Secretary, who took full responsibility in conveningthis event at his institution.

There were many activities in the Section during the past onemonth. In association with IEEE CS and CSI, the Section organised atechnical talk on “Neuromorphic Microchips” by Dr. N. Kumarappan,Prof. of Electrical Engineering, Annamalai University on 22nd Aug.

The Madras Section along with IEEE CS, IEEE Madras WIE andCSI Chennai arranged a talk by Mr. R. Sampath, Director, QuantaConsulting, Inc. USA and Chairman, IEEE Orange County, California,USA on the topic “Rural Development: Leveraging Global Technologiesand Perspectives” on 12th Sep.

The CIO Forum of CSI Chennai & IEEE CS joined hands withApollo Telemedicine Networking Foundation & Apollo HospitalsEducational and Research Foundation in the conduct of a workshop on“eHEALTH: The Emerging Scenario” in collaboration with ICMR &TRC on 15th Sep. Dr. Poongothai Aladi Aruna, Minister for IT, Govt. ofTamil Nadu & Dr. Preetha Reddy, Director, Apollo Hospitals Groupwere the Guests of Honour.

Being the most vibrant and active Section in Asia-Pacific Region,IEEE Madras Section has many achievements to its credit in terms ofnational and international conferences, technical and non-technicalworkshops, technical talks, faculty development programs and studentcongresses. Contributions of WIE and GOLD affinity groups of MadrasSection towards social activities are well recognized by IEEEHeadquarters.

Inauguration of IEEE Student Branch at KarpagaVinayaga College of Engineering and Technology

The IEEE student branch at KarpagaVinayaga College of Engg and Tech wasinaugurated the on Monday, 24th Aug 2009.Dr. Suresh Chander Pal student activitychairman of Madras Section graced the occasionas the chief guest.

The function started with a prayer. IEEE

student chairman, Mr. D. Murali (IV ECE)welcomed the gathering. IEEE student vicechairman Ms. Arya Mol (III ECE) introducedthe chief guest Dr. Suresh Chander Pal, a man ofincredible hard work and enthusiasm, who hasbeen the propelling force for the success of IEEEin the state of Tamil Nadu for over a decade. Heinaugurated the student branch by lighting thekuthuvilakku and releasing the branch certificate.

Following the presidential address givenby the Director Mrs. Meenakshi Annamalai,Dr. Pal, in his address, detailed out on the branchoperations and the benefits of being an IEEEmember. He formed the different operationalcommittees and explained the duties of theirheads. The committees and the respective chairsare as under:

Student Professional Awareness Conference atBannari Amman Institute of Technology

The IEEE Student Branch of BITSathyamangalam organized the StudentProfessional Awareness Conference (S-PAC’09) on the 8th August 2009 . The spacious andelegant Vedanayagam Auditorium was thevenue. The one day conference was a placementoriented event imparting professionalism to thestudent engineers. Hence a leading professionalMr K N Visveswaran Mentor HexawareTechnologies , Chennai a Purdue Universityturned postgraduate was the speaker of the day.The Conference was well begun with thewelcome address given by Mr R KarthikeyanStudent Chairman of S-PAC highlighting thevision of IEEE.

Dr A Shanmugam, Principal felicitatedthe conference. His words enlightened thestudents about the fundamentals and missionof engineering practice. The objectives ofengineering practice such as the quality of thecurriculum was the topic of his address. He

also guided the students well about thepreparation and the needs of a qualifiedprofessional. He also stressed the importanceof proper learning environment. He stressed onthe most needed confidence in professionalism.

The secretary of the IEEE StudentBranch, Mr Shravan Potturu introduced theoffice bearers for the academic year 2009-2010.This was followed by a soul striking Oath takingceremony, wherein Dr G Gurusamy BranchCounselor along with the office bearers pledgedtheir vision and mission for the forthcomingyear.

The inaugural address delivered by theChief Guest Mr K N Visveswaran was thestar-studded event of the day. His flabbergastingenergy and efficiency kept the audience tunedthroughout the lecture. His crisp details aboutprofessionalism, the ability to complete tasksand the way to success with humanity added

more flavour to his lecture. The entire sessionwas carried on well inculcating and enhancingthe inquisitive nature in the students. Thequestionnaire part of the session kept thestudents in the peak of attention. Following theinaugural address was the most happeningquizzing extravaganza, Brain Busters’09. Therewas an active participation from all the studentsand the winner was awarded with attractiveprizes.

Prof P Suresh Kumar, Director, Schoolof Management Studies, BIT engaged thestudents with his inspiring lecture in theafternoon session. His guidance to dream bigand to realize the dreams was a limelight. Themost expected events of the day such as theFlash Presentation Contest, Poster DesigningContest and Stall Designing Contest followedthe lecture and the winners were awarded withprizes and certificates.

Simply Mail Solutions, a message melawherein the students were told to message theanswers for the questions asked raised theoctaves of the conference. Later ManagementGames ,which enhanced the intellectual abilitiesof the audience were conducted. At the end, MrK Charandeep, Joint Secretary of the IEEEStudent Branch proposed the vote of thanks.This year the S-PAC was entirely a qualitativeventure to mould better professionals.

Inaugural of the activities of IEEE Student Branchat Kongu Engineering College

The inaugural of the activities of IEEEstudent branch, Kongu Engineering College washeld on 29th Jul 2009. Prof. Narayanan-staffcoordinator of IEEE welcomed the gathering. In

his address, he invited the students to activelyparticipate in the events of the forum. Heproudly mentioned that the KEC IEEE studentbranch is the recipient of Maximum Growthand Retainment Award in the Asia PacificRegion. Mrs. V.R, Saraswathy, Staff coordinatorintroduced the office bearers for the year 2009-2010. Prof. Krishnaswamy, Vice Principal ofKEC presided over the function. He underlinedthe importance of professional ethics and theneed for commitment to ethical values amongyoung engineers. He pointed out the importanceof practical insights for developing theinnovative ideas into worthy products.

The Chief Guest, Prof. P. Jayachandar,Professor & Dean, Department of CSE, VellalarCollege of Engineering & Technology, Thindal,Erode in his address, gave an overview of theevolution of IEEE. He threw light on the recentcontributions made by the Indian Engineers inthe field of software, space, etc., He suggestedthe students to develop an interest in thepromising field of sensors, transducers. The YearPlans of IEEE and WIE were presented bySomesharun, Chairman of IEEE and Shankari,Chairman of WIE. After the talk, Prof. K.Narayanan presented a memento to Prof. P.Jayachandar. The inaugural function ended witha vote of thanks by Treasurer of IEEE.

Guest Lecture at St. Joseph’s College of Engineering

It was a great afternoon on 14t Aug 2009when the chief guest of the day walked into theAudio Visual Hall of St. Joseph’s College ofEngineering. The hall was thronged by a sea ofinquisitive faces; all eager to know about whatthis buzz word ‘IEEE’ was all about. And wehad the right person to quench the thirst ofknowledge about IEEE. It was none other thanour beloved IEEE Chair, Student Activities, Dr.Suresh Chander Pal, who had been kind enoughto accept our request to honour us as the ChiefGuest of the day.

The air of enthusiasm grew manifoldwhen Dr. Suresh started talking and interactingwith the lively audience. He inculcated thequalities and virtues one must have in thiscompetitive world and attributed thesecharacteristics to success of the person in one’sfield. Starting off with a stimulating speech, thechief guest went on to talk about IEEE’sfoundation history. Having given a brief preface,he listed the details about the IEEE Regions andStudent Chapters and how students can availbenefits from these IEEE bodies. The studentswere amazed at the statistics of peopleassociated with IEEE and were really glad thatthey were a part of the IEEE family.

Dr. Suresh also threw light in to the variousadvantages that IEEE offers to its members andmade the students realize by citing a fewexamples about how IEEE can actually be aforum for the students to turn their ideas intoreality. He encouraged the students to come upwith innovative ideas and assured that IEEEwould not only provide them the necessary backing,but also help shape the ideas. Eventually, hecalled upon all the office bearers and other in

charges of various committees and urged themto bring up the IEEE student branch. No doubt,the students were taken into the world of IEEEby the eminent Chief Guest and were sure torespond to the calls put forth. The meeting drewup to a close with a photo session with Dr. Suresh.

The IEEE Student Branch of St. Joseph’sCollege of Engineering is very thankful to Dr.Suresh Chander Pal for having graced theoccasion and really opening up the young mindsand stirring them to perform well.

Activities of IEEE IASMadras Chapter

A meeting on ‘Personality Management’was arranged on the 10th August 2009 at the HotelAshoka, Egmore, Chennai. The Guest speakerwas Dr. K. Balasubramanian, Chief ExecutiveOfficer, Vision Unlimited. The speakerhighlighted on the various aspects of confidencebuilding measures and the personalitydevelopment. For the engineers it was a uniqueexperience to learn their importance, to theorganization to remain stress free and also toenjoy their work. The meeting was well attendedby around 30 engineers including members. Thewelcome address and introduction of guestspeaker was done by Dr. G.V. Rao, Chairman,IEEE-IAS (Madras Chapter). A High tea wasarranged at the end of the meeting.

Michael Faraday’s birthdaycelebrations meeting was organised on 25thAugust 2009 in Rowsons Marketing Pvt Ltd.,Madras premises. The meeting was arrangedwith breakfast and attended by 15 engineers

The IEEE Computer Society, MadrasChapter & CIO Forum of CSI Chennaijoining with COMSOL Multiphysics Pvt. Ltdorganized a free workshop on “COMSOLMultiphysics Modeling” on 4th Aug 2009.

This workshop was aimed to providean overview to COMSOL MultiphysicsModeling which will lead one through thework flow and bring designs to life withmultiphysics simulations in applicationssuch as fluid-structural interactions, thermalexpansion, electromagnetic-structuralinteractions, and more. This event featureda live demo of the modeling and itscapabilities by the resource persons fromCOMSOL Multiphysics Pvt. Ltd,Bangalore. Participants numbering about 45from both academic & industry whoattended this workshop were provided witha free trial version of the software forexperimenting at their workplace.

Article based on the invited talk deliveredon 27th Aug 2009 at the IEEE’s 125 th yearcelebrations.

Economies everywhere are keen onmaintaining high growth rate in order to createsufficient wealth for national development goalssuch as agriculture, education, energy,infrastructure, widening health services and soon. All available technological capabilities areharnessed for this purpose. In this context asection of policy makers, planner and generalpublic consider that all development effortsshould be sustainable, meaning thereby thatSustainable development is development thatmeets the needs of the present withoutcompromising the ability of future generationsto meet their own needs. It is a process of changein which the use of resources, investmentstrategies, technological development, andinstitutional change are all in harmony andenhance both current and future potential tomeet human needs and aspirations. Becausesustainable development is a context-drivenconcept, different societies tend to define itbased on their own values, needs and expectations.

Unfortunately, such an holistic approachis not adopted as deliberate option by mostcountries, developed as well as developing, forthe following reasons:

Firstly, they are under intense globalcompetitive pressure, which makessustainability concerns take a lower priority.Secondly, the political system strives hard toshow visible results of ‘development’ duringtheir term of office sometimes resorting toshortcuts. Thirdly, there are entrenched vestedinterests at national and local levels interestedin manipulating the decision making process atthe cost of environmental, ecological and socialinterest. Fourthly, the propensity for corruptionat all levels makes the policies and legislationfor sustainable development meaningless.Consequently, many countries are unable tomeasure up to the sustainability standards.

In the sustainability efforts there aremany technologies, which are capable ofproviding ample support. Three major groups

of technologies are revolutionising industrialprocesses around the world - information,biotechnology and advanced industrial materials.Referred to as the “enabling technologies”, theyare responsible for creating a multitude of newproducts and services and transformingproduction methods in almost every sector ofthe global economy. In a knowledge-basedeconomy, scientific understanding andappropriate applications of these enablingtechnologies are important determinants ofsustainable economic growth.

Agenda 21 also contains several otherimportant statements with emphasis onfacilitating the accessibility and transfer oftechnology, particularly in developing countries,as well as the essential role of capacity buildingand technology cooperation in promotingsustainable development. It states that: Newand efficient technologies will be essential toincrease the capabilities (in particular ofdeveloping countries) to achieve sustainabledevelopment, sustain the world’s economy,protect the environment, and alleviate povertyand human suffering. Inherent in these activitiesis the need to address the improvement oftechnology currently used and its replacement,when appropriate, with more accessible andmore environmentally sound technology.

However, these are not individualtechnologies, but should be treated as totalsystems that include know-how, procedures,goods and services, and equipment, as well asorganisational and managerial procedures forpromoting environmental sustainability.

The environmentally sound technologiesmay be based on transformation of alltechnologies to become more environmentallysound. They capture the full life cycle flow ofthe material, energy and water in the productionand consumption system. They cover the fullspectrum from basic technologies that areadjunct to the production and consumptionsystem, to fully integrated technologies wherethe environmental technology is the productionor consumption technology itself. They includeclosed system technologies (where the goal iszero waste and/or significant reductions inresource use), as well as environmentaltechnologies that may result in emissions andconsider technology development within boththe ecological and social context.

In this respect, a study undertaken bythe Yale University to develop theEnvironmental Sustainability Index (ESI)

provides a comparative assessment of thesituations among 146 countries. This index isbased on five components associated withenvironmental sustainability.

1. Environmental Systems: A countryis more likely to be environmentally sustainableto the extent that its vital environmental systemsare maintained at healthy levels, and to the extentto which levels are improving rather thandeteriorating.

2. Reducing Environmental Stresses:A country is more likely to be environmentallysustainable if the levels of anthropogenic stressare low enough to engender no demonstrableharm to its environmental systems.

3. Reducing Human Vulnerability: Acountry is more likely to be environmentallysustainable to the extent that people and socialsystems are not vulnerable to environmentaldisturbances that affect basic human wellbeing;becoming less vulnerable is a sign that a societyis on a track to greater sustainability.

4. Social and Institutional Capacity:A country is more likely to be environmentallysustainable to the extent that it has in placeinstitutions and underlying social patterns ofskills, attitudes, and networks that fostereffective responses to environmental challenges.

5. Global Stewardship: A country ismore likely to be environmentally sustainableif it cooperates with other countries to managecommon environmental problems, and if itreduces negative Tran boundary environmentalimpacts on other countries to levels that causeno serious harm.

Interpretation: Finland is ranked asnumber 1 with ESI score of 75.1. It is interestingto note that many industrialised countries, suchas France, USA and UK show a lower score,because of the environmental damage causedby their industries. At the same time, manycountries, which are not highly industrialisedsuch as Uruguay, Guyana and Central AfricanRepublic shows a higher score, possiblybecause of the absence of polluting industryand their care for environment. Many newlyindustrialising countries such as India, Chinaand South Korea, show poorer score because

of their rapid industrialisation without adequateenvironmental safeguards. Some leastdeveloped countries such as Bangladesh showvery low score, in spite of the absence ofpolluting industries, perhaps due to high levelof poverty.

The moral of the story is that everytechnology is a double edged sword from asustainability point of view and it dependsupon the wisdom of the society in making useof them for sustainability gains.

Guest Lecture on “Next Generation IT” at Kongu Engineering College

A guest lecture on NEXT GENERATIONIT at Kongu Engineering College was deliveredon 17th Aug 2009 by Mr.T.S. Rangarajan,Principal Consultant, Tata ConsultancyServices, Chennai. Prof.K.Narayanan, staffcoordinator of IEEE, KEC welcomed thegathering. Mr.V. Mohanraj, Vice-chairman ofIEEE, KEC introduced the chief guest.

The speaker Mr.T.S.Rangarajan startedhis talk with a note that “Next generation IT’ isthe enhancement of computer networking. Hepointed out that ‘Sensing and Actuation’ is thebasic idea behind this technology wherein thecapabilities of the computer is improved andautomation of computer is achieved. He thenelaborated on why this technology is coined thename “6th sense technology” with a mind-blowing video presentations. The video clippingshowed the unique ability of the device to walkup to any surface and access easily to benevolentinformation without any changes in usergestures. Mr.Rangarajan underlined that thepower and cost consumption is less in this newtechnology.

The incredible element in the video waswhen the device tracked the words associated

with a person (like the name, college name) ashe/she moved towards the device. Then heintroduced the idea of “Context Management”,and “Workspace”. He also gave the glimpse of“Google name” and how it is different fromemail. The participants comprised of facultyand students were overwhelming and the entiretalk was interactive with the students clarifyingtheir doubts on recent trends like cloudcomputing, crowd sourcing etc.

After the talk, Prof.K.Narayananpresented a memento to Mr.T.S.Rangarajan.Ms.K.Aruna, Vice-chairperson of WIE, KECproposed the Vote of Thanks.

Seminar on “Future for Engineers” at St. Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering

A seminar on the topic “Future forEngineers” by Dr. V. Shanmugavel, Director,Shanmugavel and Associates, Chennai & FormerChief Engineer, TNEB was organized by IEEEStudent Branch, St. Xavier’s Catholic Collegeof Engineering on 8th August 2009.

The resource person Dr. V. Shanmugavel,in his presentation, highlighted the opportunitiesfor engineers in administration, army, medical,automobile and education. He, further, outlinedthe different avenues in the field of auditing likeEnergy Audit, Technical Audit, Water Audit,Safety Audit and Cost Audit.

In his talk, the energy auditing conceptswere detailed out with examples. He also spokeon Non-Destructive Testing, CorrosionEngineering and he concluded his presentationby comparing the necessity of energyconservation in the context of global warming.

After the seminar presentation, C. JohnMoses, IEEE Student Branch Counselorpresented a memento to the Dr. V. Shanmugavel.

IEEE 125th Anniversary CelebrationsThe IEEE Madras Section organized the

IEEE 125th anniversary celebrations on 27thAugust 2009 at MIT Campus, Anna UniversityChennai. Dr. P. Mannar Jawahar, ViceChancellor, Anna University Chennai,inaugurated the celebrations and delivered theinaugural address. Dr. John Vig, IEEE President,delivered the presidential address. Dr. S.Salivahnan, Chairman IEEE Madras Sectionwelcomed the delegates. Dr.T. Thyagarajan,Secretary, IEEE Madras section introduced theVice Chancellor to the audience. Dr. P. SureshChander Pal, SAC, Madras section introducedthe IEEE President to the audience. Dr.Amithava Das Gupta, Vice Chair, IEEE Madrassection proposed the formal vote of thanks atthe inaugural session.

The inaugural function was followed bythe inauguration of Industrial Exhibition by Dr.A. Joseph Stanley, Dean, MIT Campus, AnnaUniversity Chennai. M/s Qmax and M/s

Numeric Power Systems had put up stalls alongwith IEEE Madras section.

The inauguration of IndustrialExhibition was followed by the invited lectureon ‘Technologies for Sustainable Development’by Dr. M. Anandakrishnan, Chairman, IITKanpur & Rajasthan and Science City Chennai.Mr. H. R. Mohan , Execom member introducedhim to the audience. It was followed by theinvited lecture on “Towards TechnologyLeadership Wireless Communication” by Prof.Ashok Jhunjhunwala, Professor, Departmentof Electrical Engineering, IIT Madras. Dr.Amithava Das Gupta, Vice Chair, IEEE Madrassection introduced him. Both the lectures werevery informative and were well received by theaudience.

Past IEEE chair persons, present execommembers, society chairs, members, branchcounselors, student members, members of the

GOLD and WIE affinity groups, faculty fromMIT and invites from industries attended theprogram. In order to commemorate the occasion,all the present and past office bearers of IEEEMadras Section were felicitated and best studentbranches, society chapters, MGA awardeeswere recognized and felicitated. A comprehensivesouvenir was also released on this occasion.

In the afternoon, Dr. Mini S. Thomas,R10 SAC Coordinator and Dr. P. Suresh ChanderPal SAC Chair, Madras Section gavepresentations on various opportunities underIEEE student activities. Mrs. RamalathaMarimuthu R10 WIE Coordinator and Mr. S.Elangovan GOLD Vice Chair, Madras Sectionpresented their affinity groups activities. Itwas followed by the student activitiescoordinated by Mr. Prijo. The event ended withthe cultural program by the students of MITcampus.

He explained about the boomin the chip industry. Then he started his talk on“Career Development”. He spoke on financial

rewards, interesting jobs, advancement, how theindustry will value engineers. He answeredqueries of the students relating to on engineeringjobs and also higher studies. He, further,explained on the criteria for employment in hiscompany. The speaker had advised everyoneto learn soft skills over and above the technicalknowledge relating to their branch of engineeringand studies. He wished every one to become adedicated professional

Guest Lecture and Technical Seminar atSri Muthukumaran Institute of Technology

The IEEE student branch of SriMuthukumaran Institute of Technology,Chikkarayapuram (Near Mangadu), Chennaiand Yuva Sakthi organized a youth motivationcampaign on 10 th August 2009. This wasfollowed by a technical seminar given by ourcollege students on “Power TransmissionSystems”. This event was attended by around250 students of the college.

The program started at 9.30 in the morning.The chief guest at the program was Mr. N. Vittal,

IAS (Retd) and the former commissioner ofCentral Vigilance Commission.

The prayer song was delivered by Miss.Jamuna Kannan and Miss. S. Rajeswari of theIEEE Student branch. Following this, Prof. A.Murugasan, Head of the Department,Department of Electrical and ElectronicsEngineering welcomed the gathering.

Mr. B. Arun of the student branchintroduced the chief guest Mr. N. Vittal who was

began his administrative service at the youngage of 22. He had served as the secretary of theGovernment of India in the Department ofInformation Technology. He was included inthe list of 50 members who had contributed tothe development for the Indian economics. Theachievements of the chief guest and the eventsof the day were explained in brief by Mr.Karthik,a member of Yuva sakthi. The chief guest was thenhonored by Prof. A. Murugaesan, HOD, Deptof EEE and Miss. Sukanya, member of Yuva Sakthi.

The chief guest, Mr.Vittal delivered aninspiring and interesting lecture for an hour onthe topic “Strategic Strengths of India”. It hadmotivated one and all. The talk was followedby an interaction session, where the studentsof SMIT put forward their queries to the chiefguest. The chief guest was patient enough toanswer all the questions.

After a short tea break, the technicalseminar on “Power Transmission Systems” waspresented by Mr. M. Karthik and Mr. S. N.Arun Kumar of the student branch The wasfound to be very useful where in the studentsbecame familiar with the electrical systems.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs.Sheeba Joice, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Electricaland Electronics Engineering.
