When problems arose in the church at Jerusalem, seven men were chosen to assist thepastors in se t tling difficulties. The first two men in Acts 6 are Stephen, a man full of faith anof the Holy Spirit, and Philip. Because of his zeal in witnessing for Christ, Stephen was stoned

to death. Following the burial of this first Christian martyr, Philip went to Samaria with thegospel, the first messenger to the Gentiles. Acts 8:1f. reveals that Philip brought joy toSamaria.

TThhee PPeeoopp llee oof f SSaammaarr iiaa:: The Samaritans were a mixed race. Centuries earlier, the Kings of Assyria brought

Gentile people to supplant the lost Israelites, most of whom they had moved away from theirhomeland. (The ten tribes of Israel were lost during this period.) The Jews that were lefduring the captivity and nonconformist Jews mixed themselves among the Gentiles. Uponthe return of the Jewish remnant from captivity, the Samaritans volunteered to help rebuildthe Temple in Jerusalem. Their offer was spurned. That hurt the Samaritans deeply. Theynever forgot it. The people of Samaria obeyed Moses laws and looked for the promised

Messiah. Therefore, they were prepared for the coming of the message of Christ as preachedby Philip.

EEf f f f eecct t iivvee PPrr eeaacchhiinngg:: In Africa, Indigenous Pastors preach the gospel in the villages, rural areas and the

territories round about. They preach with power and the demonstration of the Holy Spirit, great crowds come to hear them God gives them power to perform miracles, the lame andthe sick are healed, demonpossessed are delivered and the promise is being fulfilled, as Jesussaid: Greater works than these shall ye do because I go to my Father John 14:12. Lurecorded the results of Philips preaching in these words, There was much joy in the city.Genuine joy always follows the path Jesus travels. Testimonies are received that great Joy isexperienced while preaching the Gospel. There is Joy in Evangelism Psalm 51:12, 13Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation , uphold me with thy free spirit. Then I will teachtransgressors thy ways and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

YYoouu SSeellddoomm SSeeee t t hhee FFrr uu iit t :: While Indigenous Students are in discipleship training they travel with teams of

Indigenous Pastors & Evangelists to unreached areas, travelling by train, bus, taxi etc, part of their training is witnessing to people along the way, leaving a precious gospel tract, sowingseeds of salvation and praying a prayer with strangers whom they may never see again.Students testified that the ones they have led to the Lord in the past, they meet again, andthere is great rejoicing. The students asked Now that you are saved have you beenbaptized? If Not, they share Baptism and are invited to attend meetings in the local villagechurch. Indigenous Pastors baptize candidates in the river, and souls are added to the church.Psalm 3:8 Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: Thy blessing is upon Thy people.

Pastor Daniel, coordinator of tract distribution mentions : unfortunately you oftendo not see the fruit of your work! In one of the rural areas, one group of villagers had noBibles all they had were a couple of tracts which they passed on from family to family sothat everyone would have the opportunity to read the Gospel message. This continues untilthere is virtually nothing left of the tracts, they are completely torn and worn out! Thank youfor helping CFAM to acquire Gospel tracts iit t ddooeess bbeeaarr f f rr uu iit t which we may not see, butrejoice when we hear testimonies of joy when families get saved and born into the Kingdomof Heaven . Psalm 95:12 O come, let us sing unto the Lord: let us make a joyful noise to therock of our salvation. Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving. and make a joyfulnoise unto him with psalms.
