Dear Pastors, Prayer Partners & Donors, Greetings in the Name of Jesus.

In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowestnot whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good. Ecc 11:6

African women have suffered from illiteracy to extreme poverty, domestic abuse HIV/Aids. To help them overcome these burdens, spur their spiritual growth, and give them hopfor the future, we train them in discipleship programs, how to evangelize other needy women itheir village sharing Christ and His love, through group prayer meetings and Bible study. It hataken years of meeting with Indigenous Pastors, Elders and church members, to explain hoimportant it is for everyone to get involved in the ministry of the church, especially womereaching other women.

Many were skeptical in the beginning, concerned that womensministries would become a womens liberation movement rather thanfocus on ministry. After placing Corn Grinders at the churches, seeingwomen saved, their families fed, extra money in their pockets to use forother needs, and even how the Donkey Taxi became a vital part of thisoutreach ministry, God intervened and the brethren realized how very

important women were in the ministry. Today, more women are activein rural Indigenous churches, doing evangelism, helping other womenin their personal lives to overcome grief, poverty & depression, throughprayer, getting them involved in outreaches reaching more tribal women.

Three words describe Womens Ministry Focus: Nurture, Enable, and Outreach. Firwe seek to nurturewomen, which entail the spiritual, physical, psychological, emotional facets their lives. Many women in the African churches are hurting we cannot ask them Go evangelize their World, when theyre dealing with severe challenges themselves. Next wenablewomen. In Africa many women do not have a high school education. We teach them read and write, this gives them confidence and self esteem, and helps them to study the Word God with other women. Thirdly, theres outreach. After salvation, they attend discipleship classeand after baptism they join the church, where we invite them to participate in outreach.

If we help women to grow in their personal relationship with Christ on a deeper level, thebecome more involved with the mission of the church. When women are truly nurtured, thegrow and reach out. Their family benefits as does their community and most of all their churcbenefits as new members join and become part of the family of God. They have hope for the futurand are excited to encourage other women that are in the same position as they were beforaccepting Jesus as their Savior.

Womens Ministry - Making a Difference

Many of these women are widows, and have to raise their familieon little or no income at all. We help them to start their ownincome generating projects, such as raising chickens and eggs tosell. Some women raise goats or sheep, to help them get out othe poverty mode of barely existing. Older widows have helped

Foster Orphans when there is no room at the Orphanages.

There are women who have learned to sew. They make clothinas well as many other items such as table cloths, place matsetc which are sold to travelers passing through their areas. Othewomen crochet, and do beadwork. The African women are verartistic, and enjoy visiting at the local market, where they arallowed to display their wares for sale. This year we are teachinthe women to make soap. The lives of women in these villages inAfrica will never change unless their financial situation changes.

By helping them reach their goals, we are sharing the Love oChrist, that He cares about their wellbeing in a tangible way.

Making a DifferenceSouth Africa June 1966:

June 1966 marks a very special time in the lives ofJohn and Anita Newton. AmidstJohns mission work travelling to tribal areas, preaching to Indigenous African people in hisTent, with Truck, equipment, and a team of Young African Pastors, eagerly learning at Johnsside, to preach, teach, disciple new converts, baptize them, plant new churches, John wasback in Johannesburg to stock up on supplies for the field and pick up more Bibles fordistribution to new converts, when he ran into Anitas cousins husband, at the store. Theywere acquainted and had not seen each other for several years.

After chatting, he invited John to dinner, adding, bring your wife. John told him that

he was not married, so he answered, all the more reason to come and enjoy a home-cookedmeal. They agreed to meet the next evening. Anita was invited to dinner to meet John neither knew of the plan to introduce them to each other.

Needless to say, dinner was delicious, John & Anita enjoyed the company, they allplanned to meet again on the Friday evening, to go out to dinner. One of their little girlsbecame ill, and they were unable to keep the date. Thus John & Anita went to dinneranyhow, which brings us to the prayer John prayed as he said his goodbye before leaving on amission trip the next day. Dear Lord, thank you for the wonderful evening, and theopportunity to get to know Anita. Father I have prayed for 13 years for my wife, and Father, ifit be your will, may we be engaged in October and married on December 17th, 1966. Johnsaid he felt Anitas hand grip his hand tightly, and thought he heard her gasp in amazement...

John asked Anita to pray and seek the will of God for their lives, and he wouldreturn in 3 months before he drove off, Anita said, John, you will have to ask my Dad for

his permission to marry me, you know that dont you?. John chuckled, smiled and replied,I know that my dear, If God be for me, who can be against me?John waved and Anitawent inside, thinking: Wow, now Ill have to pray earnestly to seek the will of God in my life!At breakfast Anita told her parents what had happened the night before asking them to praywith her They both later confessed they had known God was working, that John would betheir son-in-law. Isnt God good? John did return in October 1966, asked for her hand inmarriage, got engaged, took off to the mission field again, returning December to be marriedon the 17th. How exciting. Now for the rest of the story, It has been 47 years, Godblessed them with 3 lovely children, and 5 grandchildren, all healthy, serving the Lord, thework in Africa continues to grow. John turns 76 on July 31st 2013, Anita will be 65 on July 6,2013. Today they enjoy Gods blessing, His provision, are both healthy, serving & praisingour Heavenly Father for His goodness and mercy each day. Amen.
