This week, we’re prayingfor Immanuel Lutheran Church of Audubon, with Pastor David Thompson.

In Session Two, John Bevere teaches that you determine the level of reward you

receive today and in eternity—all based on the principle of honor.Says Bevere, “As you scan the Gospels, you find [those] who received partial, full or no rewards. Each incident uniquely reflects their stewardship of honor. For some, there is a lack of due honor. For others, there is abundant honor and still for others there is a blatant dishonor. Like the Pharisees and teachers of the law

as they approached Jesus. If honor isn’t immediately apparent in the passage, the pattern or principle yet remains. It is a spiritual law.”“Look at I Samuel 2:30…God says—this is straight from the lips of God the Father himself—’Those who honor me, I will honor. Then he says, ‘Those who despise me shall be lightly esteemed’…”“Jesus made this statement over and over again. ‘He who receives you receives me, Jesus, and he who receives me receives him who sent me.’ Or He is saying, ‘He who honors you, honors me. He who honors me, honors him who sent me.’ John 13:20, ‘He who receives or honors whomever I send, receives or honors me. He who receives or honors me, receives or honors him, the Father who sent me.’Concludes Bevere: “He is dealing with every single human being you will ever come in contact with in the Kingdom and that is who? Those over you in authority, those on your level of authority, or your peers, and those who are entrusted to your authority.…Jesus said that in honoring each of those levels, there is a certain reward from heaven.”

Last Wednesday we started our prayer journey through the book of Ephesians.

There was a turnout of about 15, all VERY HUNGRY for the presence of God! Each Wednesday night at 7:00, we will open in prayer; have a short teaching on prayer and meditation; break for a time of personal meditation on God’s Word; come together in worship; have a time of sharing on what God is saying through the Scripture; and then transition to prayer.
