3. Both Barge Captain and Chief Engineer must check the flowmeter display to confirm the totalizer value is “0” and no alarms are displayed.
4. If totalizer is not “0” then print a ticket
1. Check that the pressure in the bunker line is “0” and bunker line is empty
Series 3000 Transmitter
In addition: Monitor the drive gain trend on the BunkerLink profile. If the drive gain is increasing and exceeds 75%, take action to reduce aeration
It is normal for drive gain to exceed 75% at the beginning and end of the bunker delivery, as lines are being filled or cleared
In order to meet certification measurement requirements ensure the aeration limit reads below 100%, at the end of bunker. It is important to monitor the metering diagnostics. Watch for “aeration present” and trends in drive gain.
1. If aeration is present, take action to reduce the aeration. For example, add backpressure
Aeration Present: If it displays “YES”, there is air in the line right now. This diagnostic is on the BunkerLink profile screen and transmitter display
2. Check that all permanent seals are in and all sight glasses are clean
5. Take steps to minimize amount of air through the flowmeter before the delivery begins
6. Connect BunkerLink 20 minutes before transfer begins
7. Open the bunker Manifold

4. Check to see the BDN value is within company acceptable limits
1. If the pressure doesn’t read “0”, vent the bunker line
2. Check that all sight glasses are clean, verify pressure reading is “0” and that seals are intact
3. A passing ticket is a valid custody transfer measurement
