The Certificate Course in Evidence Based Diabetes Management (CCEBDM) was conceived by

PHFI in 2010 in partnership with Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Education Academy (DMDEA),

Chennai, and is supported by an educational grant provided by MSD Pharmaceutical Pvt. Ltd.

This program aims to develop core skills and competencies in primary care physicians for the

practice of evidence based diabetes management and to establish a strong network among

primary care physicians and existing specialized diabetes care centers in India for improving

patient outcomes in Diabetes care.

This course has now become the first globally recognized model to train Primary care

physicians in evidence based diabetes management and has been given recognition by the

International Diabetes Federation (IDF). The official announcement was made by the IDF

President, Sir Michael Hirst on 8th November 2013 at Delhi. He also released the Participant

Testimonial at the event which was the collation of the feedback received from 500

participants of CCEBDM.
