Mobile apps are becoming essential tools to our everyday lives as well as ourwork whatever that would be. CEMAS has been working with businesses romevery sector in Wales including engineering, health, arming, entertainment andmany others. This event is concerned with mobile apps or sport.

The event gives a plat orm or a variety o apps; some developed by CEMASor local business through the ERDF business support programme and others

by Welsh app development businesses who are members o the Welsh MobileInnovation Network (MINe). It is my pleasure to welcome you to the event whichI hope will inspire you to get involved in this exciting world.

in Mobile Applications andServices (CEMAS) is part undedby the European RegionalDevelopment Fund (ERDF)and is established at theUniversity o South Wales.

We make apps, in act, we make greatapps with some great companies -and were all really proud o this.

As part o our o ering, we have abusiness support programme that canwork with SMEs in the convergence areao Wales by helping them develop, testand nd a route to market or their mobileapplication product. CEMAS is unique inthat we are able to minimise the initialrisks to businesses that are associatedwith developing a mobile applicationthrough a ully unded app developmentprogramme available to eligibleSMEs in Wales.

The CEMAS team can help Welsh SMEs

and start-up companies develop theirapp idea on a number o plat ormsincluding iOS, Android, Blackberryand Windows Phone.

Jon Moore is the Managing Director oAnalysisPro Limited. Jon started his company2 years ago to o er a ull port olio o productsand consultancy in the specialist eld o visualper ormance analysis. He has over 20 yearsexperience in this industry, gained initially in asporting environment working with the WRUas a specialised scrum coach be ore becomingthe American Eagles World Cup Squad scrumcoach, player assessor and notational analyst.Jon then joined Bath RFC as their scrumcoach and video analyst. His growing interestin the notational side o the sport lead him tobecoming the General Manager o SportstecUK or 9 years.

Through his passion or this industry Jon hasenabled the knowledge gained working withsporting environments to be pushed out to

non sporting environments such as the FireService and medical simulation centres.These non sporting environments are nowalso enjoying the bene ts o videoper ormance analysis.

UB coach is a per ormance analysis toolor rugby matches utilizing and emulating

pro essional analysis tools and techniques tohelp greatly improve the sports per ormanceo the amateur and semi-pro essional athleteor sportsperson. As an iPhone app it is highlymobile and give great scope or broadlyanalysing your sporting per ormance.The greatest challenge in developing theapplication was rstly truly understanding thesport o rugby, the rules o the game and howit is pro essionally analysed. The next challenge

or the team was to attempt to design a UIinter ace that would accurately and e ectivelysupport the analysis o an individual duringa game o rugby. This was solved throughrigorous testing on orientation and aestheticelements, guided by the expert knowledgeo the client.

We love that the application has the abilityto capture comprehensive data relating to anindividual or teams per ormance within a gameo Rugby. The ull analysis unctionality o theapplication gives a ull and accurate pictureo the recorded per ormance.

CEMAS have been excellent incommunicating back, when we havean issue we talk it through and resolve it,I can only speak highly o everybody thathas been involved in the project at CEMAS.

Developed in Cardi by Sequence inpartnership with Microso t, the ree LionsOfcial App is available across the 3 leadingoperating systems, Windows, iOS and Android- both phone and tablet. The app providesin-depth tour knowledge and the per ectplat orm to share with the rest o the onlinesporting community using the #seao redhashtag on the eatured twitter eed.

There will also be the ability to add your mano the match as the tour proceeds. We are

really excited about the behind the scenesvideos that will be taken by the Lions usingthe Microso t Sur ace and the Nokia Lumia.
