help relieve stress and anxiety – they loved

doing Upside downs!! They particularly

enjoyed making family saltdough handprints

for 2020 and have been busy finding out

about V.E. Day ready for Friday 8th May (the

Oak Class

In Oak class pupils have been completing maths challenges, reviewing films, recommending

music, cooking Sunday roast to name a few.

Here is Kai’s film review!

Bloodshot

At first it was a bit dull but when the fighting started it got alot better after he and his wife are murdered, marine Ray

Garrison is brought back to life by a team of scientists. Enhanced with nanotechnology, he becomes a superhuman

biotech killing machine Bloodshot. As Ray first trains with fellow super-soldiers, he cannot recall anything from his past

life. But when his memories flood back and he remembers the man that killed both him and his wife, he breaks out of

the facility to get payback, only to discover that there's more to the conspiracy than he thought.

The team of scientists were kinda on his side and not on his side because they were trying to program his

nanotechnology in his blood stream to kill the guy who he thought killed him but the guy who killed Ray Garrison in his

past life was already dead, leading to a dramatic entrance in a science lab to kill the guy who he thought killed him and

all the guards that were protecting him after this event in the film Ray Garrison goes to london to see his wife but Rays

was a bit shocked at what happened in london. His wife was alive but had a different family now. Ray was confused. Ray

was killed by the guy who made him but Wilfred Wagins reserected back to life and killed the guy who made him with a

grenade. After that scene everything was calm on a cliff facing the sunset living in a trailer.

In genral the movie was thrilling ,hands sweating when ray was fighting, but at the end it was calm.

A special mention has to be given to Jamie, who has been showing of his range of talents as well as his

kindness and generosity. Jamie has been working really well and completing lots of his school work, which has

been great to see. He has also been very busy helping out at home and the community.

Therapy Blog - How visuals helps us?

Think about when you have ‘too much’ to do, what helps you? Usually we write lists.

Getting it all down visually in front of us means:

we can put it in order of most

important/easiest to achieve

make a plan of what to do in what order

we can cross off things we’ve done (feeling

a sense of achievement)

remind ourselves what we still need to do

Children are no different, visuals help them too!

Instead of a list, they might need pictures as well as words.

Visuals help them:

organise themselves for the activity and

get what materials they need

know how many activities they are

expected to do in a given task

be prepared for what’s coming next in an

activity

keep focused on the activity at hand

recognise when they’re finished

remind them of what reward they’ll get when they’ve finished

The types of visuals children use can be very different. To see some examples of

visuals, have a look at our wellbeing Padlet, there is a tab called ‘visuals’ –

https://springfieldsacademy.padlet.org/rebeccalland2/j0z9kb9uc1uz

If you have any questions, get in touch with Rebecca our Speech and Language

Therapist or your tutor.
