SAFETY GUIDELINES
To ensure this fieldtrip is safe and enjoyable, the following safety guidelines should be followed: • Wear a pair of sturdy, comfortable shoes (eg. walking boots, safety or
sports shoes); • Umbrellas and hats are recommended for protection from sun and/or
rain; • Outcrops are located along the busy trunk roads; thus, care should be
taken to avoid accidents; • Avoid climbing steep quarry faces. Rocks tend to be easily dislodged
especially in the rainy season; • If you intend to collect rock samples with a hammer, wear safety glasses
or goggles and warn your neighbours before hammering the rock; • At the outcrops, beware of snakes, bees, scorpion etc.; • Be environmentally friendly; take your litter home. • If you have any other query, please ask the fieldtrip leaders. • Note: Have enough drinking water supply- it might be hot and you will
loose a lot of fluid.
