    CHAOS AND TERROR

    CITIZENS COMMISSIONON HUMAN RIGHTS

The Citizens Commission on HumanRights (CCHR) was established in 1969 bythe Church of Scientology to investigateand expose psychiatric violations of humanrights, and to clean up the field of mentalhealing. Its co-founder is Dr. Thomas Szasz, professor of psychiatry emeritus and an

internationally renowned author. Today,CCHR has more than 130 chapters in over30 countries. Its board of advisors, calledCommissioners, includes doctors, lawyers, educators, artists, business professionals, and civil and human rights representatives.

CCHR has inspired and caused many

hundreds of reforms by testifying beforelegislative hearings and conducting publichearings into psychiatric abuse, as well asworking with media, law enforcement andpublic officials the world over.

    RECOMMENDATIONS

1 Government, criminal, educational, judicial and other socialagencies should not rely on the DSM and no legislationshould use this as a basis for determining the mental state, competency, educational standard or rights of any individ-ual. Psychiatric abuse is the lethal weapon that hassparked the explosion of international terrorism. Mindand behavior control must be exposed, outlawed and sanc-tioned in every country in the world.

2Individuals who employ pernicious psychiatric methodsto manufacture terrorists should be identified and placed

at the forefront of the Most Wanted List of InternationalTerrorists. The only way to win the War on Terrorism is torender the psychiatrists behind the manufactured murder-ers inoperative.

3 Taxpayers money should not be used to fund psychiatrysunworkable methods and treatment for diseases thatcannot be scientifically verified. PTSD is not a diseaseit is a normal reaction to a terrifying situation.

    INTRODUCTION

    MANUFACTURINGMURDERERS

T he terrorist attacks on the twin towers of New Yorks World Trade Center and thePentagon in Washington, D.C. onSeptember 11, 2001, will never be forgotten.

Unthinkably violent acts shock us all. Whatkind of mindset methodically plans and exe-cutes mass murderwith utter disregard forhumanity? What kind of person could be socold-hearted and destructiveand be willing togive up his own life in the process? Yet someexperts claim that todays terror merchantsare no more irrational than you or Ithat we allhave demons within.

Beware these experts, because their claimsare blatant falsehoods. Terrorism is created; it isnot human nature. Suicide bombers are made, not born. Terrorism is the result of madmen bent on destruction, and these madmen are typ-ically the result of psychiatric or psychologicaltechniques aimed at mind and behavioral

P sychiatry representsa destructive instru-ment of social con-

trol. Its methods of mind and behavior control con-tinue to wreak misery on an international scale.

It is essentially the reverse of the path that broughtus into this madness. If we care anything at all aboutthe quality of life for ourselves, our children, and thefuture, we mustconsider this. This is not a nightmare

we will wake from until change takes place.Like the delinquent youth who has abandonedhis upbringing and taken up with bad company, wemust ask ourselves whether we want to keepcompany with a crowd that has no futurewithprofessionals who will likely destroy us.

Or have we had enough? If we are to bring mans inhumanity to man to an

end, it must be realized that the real enemy is psychi-

atrists and psychologists skilled in and driven by themanufacture of death, destruction and chaos.

Only in the absence of psychiatry andpsychology will mans true humanity to man becomefully evident.

This is the road to recovery.

    THE ROAD TO RECOVERY

control. Suicide bombers are psychologicallyindoctrinated to murder innocent people with-

out compassion.Part of that process involves the use of mind-altering psychiatric drugs. Consider theroots of the word assassin. In the year 1090,Hasan ibn al-Sabbah founded a terrorist groupcalled the Ismaili Order in a mountain fortress, south of the Caspian Sea. To train followers askillers, they were first drugged unconscious andthen taken to a beautiful garden filled with lux-

uries and women. They were woken to enjoythe delights and then drugged again andreturned to the Grand Master overseeing theirtraining. He would assure them they had neverleft his side, but had merely experienced a tasteof paradise that awaited them, if they success-fully carried out a killing assignment. Becauseof the heavy use of hashish to accomplish theintoxication, the killers became known as

Hashishiyn (from the Arabic, user of hashish) and later Assassins. The Japanese kamikaze pilots who

suicidally attacked allied shipping duringWorld War II, used amphetamines to overridetheir natural impulse to survive. Amphetamineside effects include psychosis, euphoria andcombativeness.

From Hitlers Final Solution in Germany

masterminded by psychiatrists 70 years agoto todays suicide bombers, the world has suf-fered greatly at the hands of programmed assas-sins and genocidal maniacs.

This publication reveals the hidden keyplayers in the alarming and explosive upsurgein terrorism todaypsychiatrists and psycholo-gists. Publicly exposing this destructive source behind terrorism, provides insight into an other-

    wise incomprehensible and devastating phe-nomenon.

reported, Combat Stress Management was handingout Prozac and Paxil like crazy to those who staffed

the prison, trying to get a handle on the frustrationand depression. 18Passing out known, violence-inducing antide-

pressants to soldiers who are responsible for keepingthe peace is, at best, ill advised, at worst, psychiatriccriminal abuse.

TARGETING VICTIMS Within days of the 9/11 attacks, psychiatrists

were predicting that as many as 30% of peopleaffected by the recent attacks would develop post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Three billion dollarswere desperately needed, they claimed, for treatingthe mental health problems in New York alone.

Three American psychiatrists coined the termPTSD in the wake of the Vietnam War and lobbied forits inclusion in the 1980 edition of the AmericanPsychiatric Associations (APA) billing bible,

The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of MentalDisorders (DSM).Professors Herb Kutchins and Stuart A. Kirk,

authors of Making Us Crazy, say that most of the sol-diers suffered the effects of participating in atroci-ties, seeing grotesquely mutilated bodies, or goingon particularly dangerous missions. Those whosuffered the mental effects of this were experiencing battle fatigue, or in other words, exhaustion, not

mental illness.Today, post traumatic stress disorder has becomestretched and blurred, says Tana Dineen, Ph.D.,author of Manufacturing Victims. There are some 175combinations of symptoms by which PTSD can bediagnosed. The application of PTSD has resulted ineverything being pathologized until the only way to be is to be abnormal, Dr. Dineen said.

Kutchins and Kirk further stated that PTSD has

become the label for identifying the impact of adverseevents on ordinary people. This means that normalresponses to catastrophic events have often beeninterpreted as mental disorders.

With PTSD authenticated through its inclusionin the DSM,psychiatrists paved the way for millions of dollars in funding to psychiatry cashing in on trauma.

    CHAPTER ONE THE DOCTORSOF DEATH

W hile the 9/11 media concentrated onOsama bin Laden, his Afghanistan- based terrorist group al-Qaeda and the19 airline hijackers with links to al-Qaeda, very few

knew the role played by Egyptian psychiatrist,Ayman al-Zawahiri.Vincent Cannistraro, formerly a high-ranking

Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) counter-terror-ism official, places Zawahiri at the heart of the mat-ter: Zawahiri is the guyhes the operationalcommander number one, on the right hand sideof Osama. He believes that violence is purifying. He kills innocent people. 1

The September 11 attacks were neither the firstnor the last time Dr. al-Zawahiri and al-Qaedaworked together. At the height of the morning rushhour on Thursday, March 11, 2004, 10 explosionsripped through trains in three bustling stations inMadrid, Spain, leaving in their wake 191 dead and1,900 injured.

Six or more operatives had planted bombs timed4

T errorism and war in Iraq have been a cash cowfor psychiatrists in the U.S. In March 2003, The

New York Timesreported: Military psychia-trists, psychologists, social workers and other mentalhealth workers are present [in Iraq] to offer treatmenton the forward lines.

Soldiers have been handed antidepressantsknown to have violence- and suicide-inducing proper-ties. The drugs can also cause anxiety, agitation, insomnia, bizarre dreams, confusion, and akathisia (aninability to keep still) that can lead to violent behavior.

On April 30, 2004, television stations around theworld broadcast graphic pictures of Iraqi prisoners being tortured and abused by U.S. soldiers in the AbuGhraib prison outside of Baghdad, Iraq. 17 However, what wasnt known then was that psychiatrists had been dispensing psychoactive drugs to servicemenand women in the prison. Specialist David Bischel

    TARGETING THE ARMED FORCES

for simultaneous detonation, a tactic aimed at ampli-fying the violence for greater psychological impact.

The meticulous planning began at least 10months earlier, when Moroccan psychiatrist AbuHafiza gathered a number of al-Qaeda agents fromSaudi Arabia and took them to Fallujah, Iraq. Overthe next few months, posing as a teacher from areligious school, Hafiza roamed Iraq to gatherintelligenceon behalf of Dr. al-Zawahiri.

After completing his reconnaissance, Hafizamet with al-Zawahiri in August 2003, near the

Pakistan-Afghanistan bor-der, debriefing on his obser-vations and making recom-mendations that ultimatelytook shape in the Spanish bombings. 2

In March 2004, thesame month as the Madrid bombings, The Times(of

London) revealed that al-Qaeda used drugs to brain-wash young men in Iraq tocreate suicide bombers. The process, experts say, involves the use of painand drugs in combinationwith hypnosis.

According to Colonel Karim Sultan, police

chief of Karbala, Iraq, Its a long process to brainwash them. They seduce them with money, then start to use drugs on them until they are half-conscious.3

They give their suicide bombers barbiturates, and the amphetamines are for street fighters whoare facing off with the U.S., a State Departmentanalyst said. 4

Psychiatrists and psychologists boast that they

are able to program individuals into assassins.Long before anyone heard of a ManchurianCandidatea person unwittingly programmed tokill by means of drugs and hypnosisGeorgeEstabrooks, a psychologist and former professor atColgate University in New York, reported the cre-ation of operational Manchurian Candidates on theAllied side during World War II. The key to

Former psychiatrist Ayman al-Zawahiri is the guyhes the operationalcommander . . . number one, on the right-handside of Osama [bin Laden]. . . He believes that violence is purifying. Vincent Cannistraro, former counter-terrorismofficial, U.S. CentralIntelligence Agency (CIA)

In the U.S., techniques were developed tocrush the human psyche to the point that it

would admit anything, stated CIA mind controlpsychiatrist Sidney Gottlieb. British psychiatristWilliam Sargant, Gottliebs peer, advised the use of drugs on resistant sources, noting that thedrugs function is to cause capitulation, to aid inthe shift from resistance to cooperation. 13

EXCUSING MURDER Psychiatric experts advising governments

on terrorism also argue that the madmen areperfectly sane.Dr. Adel Sadeq, Chairman of the Arab

Psychiatrists Association, and head of theDepartment of Psychiatry at Cairos Ein ShamsUniversity, explains it this way: Thepsychological structure [of the suicide attacker] isthat of an individual who loves life. This mayseem strange to people [who] are incapable of

understanding [the suicide attack] because theircultural structure has no concepts such as self-sacrifice and honor. 14

Dr. Jerrold M. Post, a psychiatrist, politicalpsychology expert and former CIA analyst, saysthat terrorists are not psychopaths but use psy-chological strategy for political change. 15

According to Post, Saddam Hussein is not irra-tional, impulsive or suffering from a psychotic

disorder. Yet this is the man who waged a savagewar on Iran between 1980 and 1988, imprisoned andthen executed 8,000 members of the Kurdish resist-ance, and used chemical weapons against Kurdishvillages in his own country that killed 5,000 and left45,000 injured. Post claims that Hussein merely hasa paranoid outlook and that his troubles can real-ly be traced back to the womb. 16

From glorifying the blatantly criminal acts of

suicide bombers, to reducing the hideous acts of amaniacal murderer to psychological or biological bad luck, psychiatrists on both sides of the terror-ist conflict share the same twisted perspective onthe criminal mind. This perspective protects anddenies the dangerousness of the criminal, at theexpense of honest citizens.

    11

creating an effective spy or assassin, he said, restsin splitting a mans personality, or creatingmulti-personality, with the aid of hypnotism. This

is not science fiction. This has and is being done. Ihave done it. 5Numerous studies have verified that psy-

chotropic drugs can take over the human mindagainst the will of the individual.

Through the use of drugs, wrote WalterBowart in Operation Mind Control, the skilledmind controller could first induce a hypnotictrance. Then, one of several behavior modifica-

tion techniques could be employed with ampli-fied success. In themselves, without directedsuggestions, drugs affect the mind in randomways. But when drugs are combined with hyp-nosis, an individual can be molded and manipu-lated beyond his own recognition.

Colin Ross, M.D., author of Bluebird: DeliberateCreation of Multiple Personality by Psychiatristsandan authority on coercive psychiatric methods,

revealed that a variety of techniques could beexploited by a skilled psychiatric technician to pro-gram an individual to commit violent acts.Hypnosis exerts a more powerful influence whencombined with drugs and pain.

Ross suspects the amount of suicide bombersprogrammed with drugs is close to 100 percent. 6

MANUFACTURING TERROR: Methods employed by those forming

terrorist corps involve the use of drugs and psychological conditioning, together with ideological indoctrination; these methods enable terrorists to perpetrate such atrocities as the suicide bombings of the Marine barracks in Beirut (1983), of the U.S. embassies in Kenya andTanzania (1998), and in Iraqs holy city of Karbala, where suicide bombers killed 112 people on March 2, 2004 (above).

genic drugs to the group. Another Aum physician,Ikuo Hayashi, testified that he used the barbiturate,

sodium thiopentala drug known to cause psy-chosisand electroshock treatment to remove [the]memory of Aum adherents. 9 Dozens of membersdied from sodium thiopental.

Carlos the Jackal (Illich Ramirez Sanchez):Originally from Venezuela, he was one of the mostrenowned revolutionary terrorists. A 1969 graduateof Moscows Patrice Lumumba University, where hetrained in psychological terrorism and brainwash-

ing, The Jackal reportedly worked for MohamarQaddaffi of Libya andSaddam Hussein of Iraq.Responsible for numerousskyjackings and bomb-ings, he was described asa ruthless terrorist whooperates with cold-blood-ed, surgical precision.

Dr. Aziz al-Abub(AKA: Ibrahim al-Nadhir): The psychiatrist behind the torture andmurder of CIA Beirut sta-tion chief, Bill Buckley,

al-Abub studied political persuasion, brainwash-ing and other psychological methods at the PatriceLumumba campus in Moscow in the 1980s. He

familiarized himself with the latest Soviet pharmaco-logical techniques for keeping a person passive overa lengthy period and reducing the will to resist. Heprovided pep pills for suicide-bombers andimplanted them with the idea of the glory of sacrificeand dying. Today, al-Abub reportedly works in theIranian prison system. 10

Frantz Fanon: Fanon trained in France to become a psychiatrist. Blaming the West for dehu-

manizing local cultures, he preached that achievingfreedom and mental health required acts of vio-lence. In his book, The Wretched of the Earth,Fanonwrote, Violence is a purifying force. It frees thenative from his inferiority complex and fromdespair and inaction. It makes him fearless andrestores his self-respect.

The time whenpsychiatrists consideredthat they could cure the

mentally ill is gone. In the future, the mentally ill

have to learn to live with their illness.

Dr. Norman Sartorius, former president of the WorldPsychiatric Association, 1994

Carlos the Jackal (IllichRamirez Sanchez) usedpsychological terrorism inskyjackings, hostage takings and bombings, such as the abduction pictured here.

The Unabomber: In the U.S., TheodoreKaczynski delivered 16 package bombs to scientists,

academicians, and others over 17 years, killing threepeople and injuring 23. Subsequent to his arrest, itwas revealed that between 1959 and 1962, Kaczynskihad been the subject of a disturbing mind controlexperiment aimed at measuring how people reactedunder stress. That experiment run by Dr. HenryMurray at Harvard, was under the control of SidneyGottlieb, a psychiatrist and head of the CIAs techni-cal services division. 11 According to Kaczynski, the

intensive interrogation he was subjected to wasvehement, sweeping and personally abusive andattacked his most cherished ideals and beliefs.Afterward, he started to have ideas about an anti-technology ideology of revolution.

Richard Baumhammers: On April 28, 2000, inPittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Baumhammers shot sixpeople, killing five and paralyzing one. Prior to thekilling spree, he had been under treatment by 12 dif-

ferent psychologists and psychiatrists and had takenup to 17 different psychiatric drugs. The Oklahoma City Bomber: The bombing of

the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building inOklahoma City was, at that time, the greatest act of terrorist violence ever committed in the U.S.According to David Hoffman in The Oklahoma CityBombing and the Politics of Terror, Timothy McVeighhad been a sergeant in the army and done courses

in Psy-Ops (psychological operations) at Fort Riley.Psy-Ops is the study of psychology for militarypurposes with the primary purpose to induce orreinforce foreign attitudes and behavior favorableto the originators objectives. It can be used toinfluence the emotions, motives, objective reason-ing, or behavior of a targeted public.
