Extensive Track Record
-
Excellent ReputationSumitomo has been very successful with the Continuous Unloader design and has enjoyed an excellent reputation with all the customers. Main reasons are:
High Unloading EfficiencyUser-Friendly Features for Easy OperationHigh Reliability
Continuous Product Development
Attentive After-Service
-
Sumitomo Barge UnloaderDesign is derived from proven and successful track record.
Designed for high efficiency and reliability.
Design optimized for barge unloading.
Lightweight design for lower civil construction costs.

Actual Operation
-
Effective Material TransferOptimized for smooth transfer of coal onto Boom ConveyorTransfer point sealed to eliminate dust Liners provided to prevent coal build-up or blockage
-
Optimization for BargesThe Continuous Unloader must efficiently unload from unevenly loaded coal barges. The upper layers of coal have peaks and valleys and the digging head must be designed to enable the buckets to be filled as much as possible.
The digging head is designed to fill the buckets as they move over the uneven surfaces of the upper layers.
-
Design of Digging HeadThe buckets should travel parallel to the material surface so they fill up to capacity. The buckets should travel along the surface for some distance so they can fill up.Our digging head design satisfies these requirements. d
Advantage:Efficient Operation
-
Bucket Elevator Swing
Advantage: Higher Efficiency
Bucket Elevator can swing in and out to access more material without moving the machine.Angle of digging head can be adjusted so the buckets travel parallel to the material surface.

Advantage: Efficient Operation
The digging head automatically adjusts itself so that the buckets can move horizontally when the Bucket Elevator swings in or out.
-
Dual-Mode Digging
Advantage: Higher Efficiency
Bucket Elevator can operate in both chain-tight and chain-loose modes. Chain-tight for normal digging and chain-loose for bottom clean-up Bucket-elevator canoperate in the mostefficient mode
Chain Tight
Chain loose

Overload Protection
Advantage:Prevents stoppage and spillage
Automatic Torque control of Bucket Elevator
Drive to keep unloadingbelow 120% rated capacity
-
Reducing Dust
Advantage: Clean Operation
Bucket Elevator column is fully enclosed, so there is no coal dust from unloading operation.

ConstructionMajor Sub-Assemblies are Pin Jointed
Heaviest Sub-Assembly is less than 60 tons
Advantage: Lower Erection Cost
