How can we restore land and build peace

in a sustainable way?

Land degradation and conflict costs businesses $40 billion every year, and threatens the food, f ibre, forestry and bioenergy industries by reducing yields, damaging and harvests, and forcing people to migrate. Add weak

governance and other socio-economic inequalities, and conflict often closely follows. The solution? Uncovering new ideas to restore land and build trust, increase private investment, reduce the risk of conflict and the impact of climate change, and create new markets.

The ground-breaking discussions at the Caux Dialogue on Land and Security 2017 will highlight and explore

the needs and oppor tunities for private sector investment, and connect policymakers, investors and businesses with the very people leading the f ight for land restoration across the world. It’s a unique opportunity to find solutions and plan of actions for urgent issues of our time.
