The economic losses from parasite infections can really add up. Even moderate parasite burdens can diminish productivity. The brown stomach worm (Ostertagia ostertagi), for example, can damage the digestive tract and cause appetite suppression. The problem is exacerbated by the small intestinal roundworm (Cooperia spp.), which causes further destruction and prevents proper nutrient absorption.

Other detrimental parasites include the stomach worm (Haemonchus placei), the nodule worm (Oesophagostomum radiatum) and the lungworm (Dictyocaulus viviparus). These parasites can result in significant losses from poor weight gain, impaired feed conversion and increased disease. And infected cattle can contaminate pastures, spreading parasites to other cattle.

Deworming lowers the cost of productionCattle operations continue to earn a rising return on investment for deworming, with $201/head

Administration and dosing

Administer DECTOMAX Injectable solution at the recommended dosage of 1 mL (10 mg doramectin) per 110 pounds body weight by subcutaneous (SC) or intramuscular (IM) injection in the neck region. SC injection is recommended to minimize the risk of injection-site blemishes and is in accordance with Beef Quality Assurance guidelines.

DECTOMAX Pour-On solution should be applied topically along the mid-line of the back in a narrow strip between the withers and tailhead, at the recommended dosage of 1 mL (5 mg doramectin) per 22 pounds body weight (or 10 mL/220 pounds body weight).

VALBAZEN should be administered to cattle at the recommended rate of 4 mL/100 pounds of body weight (equivalent to 4.54 mg of albendazole/ pound, 10 mg/kg).

Powerful parasite control for a b

for cow/calf operators and $24/head for stocker operations.1

Heavier cattle, better profitsDECTOMAX® (doramectin) and VALBAZEN® (albendazole) provide long-lasting control that eliminates the toughest parasites, and protects your bottom line.

With fewer worms, cattle experience improved appetite and greater weight gain. In comparison studies under different levels of parasite burdens, cattle treated with DECTOMAX showed greater final body weights.2 That adds up to more profitable cattle and higher-quality carcasses.

Powerful and effectiveDECTOMAX offers up to 28 days of protection against the most damaging internal parasites, giving you powerful control over more parasite stages, including immatures, for longer periods of time. For liver fluke-endemic areas, VALBAZEN delivers effective control of liver flukes and internal parasites.

With DECTOMAX®

• At weaning in cow/calf operations• At arrival at stocker facilities• Spring to reduce pasture

contamination

With VALBAZEN®

• At weaning in cow/calf operations

• At arrival at feeding facilities

• When adult liver flukes are most prevalent

– Winter in Northern regions – Summer in Southern regions

Best time to treat. etter return on your investment.

DECTOMAX® Injectable delivers greater therapeutic effectiveness against internal parasites, putting more killing power directly into the bloodstream, for faster delivery to the site of worm infections.3,4

The broadest range of parasite control available. No other single injectable product controls a broader spectrum of internal and external parasites than DECTOMAX. It knocks out 36 stages of adult parasites, L4 larvae and inhibited larvae.

Internal parasites controlled in cattle:

• Gastrointestinal roundworms • Lungworms • Eyeworms

VALBAZEN® (albendazole) is a broad-spectrum oral cattle dewormer suspension that controls four major groups of parasitic worms plus liver flukes.

Control liver flukes as part of a strategic deworming program.

With one product, you can control four major groups of parasitic worms — tapeworms, intestinal worms, stomach worms and lungworms — plus liver flukes. VALBAZEN kills inhibited fourth-stage Ostertagia (brown stomach worm) larvae. And a special drench gun makes it fast and easy to administer.

Internal parasites controlled in cattle:

• Mature liver flukes • Tapeworms • Stomach worms • Intestinal worms • Lungworms

Compared with ivermectin pour-on, cattle treated with DECTOMAX Pour-On demonstrated greater live weight at slaughter.8

Cattle treated with DECTOMAX Pour-On had significantly lower egg counts on Days 14 and 30.8

DECTOMAX Pour-On provides a 45 percent greater total drug availability5 than Ivomec over a 40-day period following application.9

DECTOMAX® Pour-On delivers consistent efficacy against worms, with a weatherproof formula that keeps external parasites at bay.

Convenient parasite control that won’t wash off.DECTOMAX Pour-On lasts up to twice as long as Ivomec® (ivermectin) Pour-On and generic ivermectin pour-on brands.5 It controls more parasites, including immatures, than Ivomec.6 Even when parasites are ingested after treatment, DECTOMAX Pour-On kills them in their tracks. And it drastically reduces fecal egg counts for nematodes.7
