CATIA - Ship Structure Detail Design 2 (SDD)

is used to complete design of heavy

structures with realistic plate and stiffener

elements. It provides industry specific

features to create hull structure detailed parts.

The full integration of CATIA - Structure

Functional Design 2 (SFD) and CATIA - Ship

Structure Detail Design 2 (SDD) allows user to

retrieve Design block information, that was

previously defined and assessed, to perform

the detailed design of the structure. The

application provides productive tools and

environment in order to manage structural

systems and connections and to create

physical plates and shapes.

When used in a concurrent engineering with

CATIA - Structure Functional Design 2 (SFD)

and CATIA - Compartment & Access (CNA),

CATIA - Ship Structure Detail Design 2 (SDD)

delivers ship builders with an end-to-end

solution that covers the industrial design

process from concept to functional to detail.

In addition, and at the end of the design

phase, SDD provides piece parts generation

(bridge to SR1 Mechanical Product) for

manufacturing preparation.

(Profile Cutout), Connection detail (Bracket,

compliant with standards throughout the

entire design concept process. In fact, the

designer can check classification and design

templates based on expert specifications. The

templates are compliant with industry skills

project level through the integration of

Object Dictionary in PRM (Project

Resources Management)... Users have direct

access to catalogs that are shared among all

structural applications and various project

resources. Because it is a centralized

repository, the PRM dictionary avoids

duplication of information and eliminates the

needs for users to search multiple catalogs.

Integration with CATIA V5 Drafting

application... CATIA - Ship Structure Detail

Design 2 (SDD) is natively integrated with

CATIA - Interactive Drafting 1 (ID1) and

CATIA - Generative Drafting 2 (GDR). This

tight integration allows user to perform

extensive drawing generation from

structure detailed design elements and

comprehensive 3D models. Drafting is

used for downstream purposes, such as

fabrication, installation, reporting and

maintenance.
