GIVING TREE GIFTS Please return your gifts, unwrapped by THIS weekend, December 9-10th. Due to your overwhelming generosity, there are 116 children in Billerica who will be having a very wonderful Christmas morning.

Friends, We are so glad that you have chosen to worship with us! We give thanks to Jesus for all his blessings, and for your presence with us here, today.

If you are new to our Parish and have questions, please introduce yourself to one of our Hospitality Ministers, or the Mass Presider. We have so much to tell you about our Parish and we encourage you to come back next week. If you are already a parishioner, we welcome you back and hope that your experience here shows you the Love and Mercy of the risen Lord, in a new and deeper way. —Father Shawn, VF, Pastor

VOCATIONS Mark Robinson, along with our Youth Ministry Coordinator Dustin Batista, enjoyed a night out at the St. Andrew Dinner alongside Cardinal Sean. This evening provided a wonderful

opportunity for the young men present to ask their questions and learn more about a vocation to the priesthood. We ask for prays at this time as Mark discerns God’s will in his life.

The Saint Andrew Christmas Fair was held this past Saturday in Father Wilson Hall. There were beautiful gift baskets, children’s activities, wreaths, vendors,

delicious food, baked goods and so much more! Many familiar faces, along with a number of new ones helped to make this a wonderful and successful event!

Ladies’ Advent Tea All women of the Catholic Com-munity of Billerica are invited to join together for an afternoon of prayer, music and reflection, on Sunday, December 17th from 2-4 pm at St. Andrew Church. This will be followed by light re-freshments in Father Wilson Hall.

Take a break from the hustle and bustle to remember the meaning of Advent, the season of anticipation as we prepare for the birth of Jesus at Christmas, espe-cially on the Third Sunday of Advent, also known as Gaudete Sunday. For more information, please con-tact Fran Bilotta-Gulia at 978-387-3155 or [email protected] for more information.

WITNESS FOR LIFE IN WASHINGTON D.C Would you like to support our Youth as they travel to Washington in January? Anita Gulia, Antonio Gulia, Matt Tobio and Natalia Yailaian and their chaperones will be proclaiming our commitment to life, together with Cardinal Sean, by marching in D.C. To support them, we are accepting donations of any amount toward their trip. To donate, please place your donation in an envelope marked "Witness for Life," and either drop it in the collection basket, or send/bring to your Parish Office. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

LIFT MINISTRIES What an uplifting experience of Adoration, music and witness, with talks given by Cardi-nal Sean and guest speaker Dave Van Vickle! Old and young alike were moved by the Spirit as we came together in worship. What a wonderful way to begin the season of Advent as we prepare for our Savior’s birth.

Have you checked out of website recently? BillericaCatholic.org is a wonderful way to keep up to date with all the events in the Catholic Community of Billerica. St. Theresa Benefactor Society Members of the Benefac-tor’s Society are enrolled

into the daily prayer of our parish community for as long as the grace of God is necessary.

All members share in a special Mass each month. New members are: Alberta Leary Karen Ann Bernardo Shawn Mahaney Edward L. Browne, Jr.

The prophet Isaiah instructs us: “Prepare the way of the Lord.” This is what Advent is about and yet, it can be difficult to keep this focus when we are pulled in too many directions by the shopping and cooking and card writing that go with the season. Don’t allow the tasks to prevent you from finding

time to prepare your heart for Christ. Begin each day this week by making a simple prayer, “Come Lord Jesus, come! Come Lord Jesus, come!”

Support your Parish when you shop this Holiday Season Did you know that the Parishes of St. Andrew, St. Mary and St. Theresa all participate in Amazon’s Smile program? If you plan to purchase gifts through Amazon this Christmas,

please consider choosing your home parish to have 0.5% of your purchases donated back. More information can be found at www.billericacatholic.org or email Heather at [email protected].

Meet Father Cusack – Embracing his vocation, embracing God’s peopleFather Anthony Cusack grappled with his vocation as a young man. After hearing God’s call to the priesthood, he embraced a life of service to every person placed before him in ministry.

Recognizing the growing needs of ethnic communities, Father Anthony broadened his pastoral skills by learning to celebrate Mass in both Spanish and Vietnamese. This enabled him to accept his rst assignment at St. Ambrose and St. Mark Parishes in 2015.

Today, Father Anthony ministers in the heart of Dorchester. He engages the community in three very dierent languages. When summarizing his responsibilities, he describes personifying Christ: “The duty of the priest is, I think, to be Jesus to every single person he meets.”

To help ensure priests like Father Anthony receive essential care as they live out their vocation, please support the Clergy Health and Retirement Trust through the special collection this Christmas.
