Profession of Faith: Nicene Creed I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begot-ten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with
the Father; through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation, he came down from
heaven, (all bow) and by the Holy Spirit was incar-nate of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For
our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on
the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right
hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the proph-ets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic
Church. I confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of
the dead and the life of the world to come.
Amen.
Prayers of the Faithful
February 11 is the memorial of the appearance of
the Blessed Virgin in Lourdes, France.
Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us.
GOD’S CALL. The person who has been “saved,” who has “heard the good news of salvation,” still lives in an unsaved world, a world sadly oblivious to the presence of God. Today’s readings outline how the disciple is present in the world. The outline begins with Isaiah: “Share your bread . . . shelter the oppressed . . . clothe the naked” (Isaiah 58:7). Those who hear the word of salvation are not
insensitive to the urgent needs of others. Then Paul reminds his flock that he brought Christ to them not in eloquence or wisdom, but by being with them in the “weakness and fear” of their daily lives (1 Corinthians 2:3). Finally, Jesus tells his disciples to go out into the gloom and darkness of the streets of the world and let God’s light shine through their good deeds. We disciples don’t save the world. To the extent, however, that we have heard the word of God and been awakened to God’s presence, we may spread that word and bring that presence to others.
Our heartfelt sympathy goes to Tom Hrica and MacKenzie & Hartley Hrica on the sudden passing of brother and uncle, Michael Hrica. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and their loved ones.

• Prefers to focus on small groups of Chris ans
• Becomes frustrated with groups of more than 200 people

• Requires spiritual and emo onal maturity, and disinterested discipline for the Holy Spirit to speak
• Requires on‐going pastoral discernment of this charism

These parishioners are celebrating Birthdays this week. If you see them, don’t forget to extend your
Best Wishes for a Blessed Day!
Is anyone among you sick? They should summon the presbyters of the church, to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will save the sick person and the Lord will
raise them up. If they have committed any sins, they will be forgiven." (James 5:14)
In the sacrament we pray that the sick be healed in body, in mind and in spirit. The mission of the Church is to do what Jesus did. Healing was essential to the mission of the disciples. If you are experiencing the effects of illness, advanced age, preparing for surgery and seek the healing power of the sacrament you are encouraged to ask Father Dennis to celebrate the Anointing of the Sick with you. You or a family member can contact the parish office at (803) 345-3962 or call Father’s cell phone at (843) 834-5447.
The Adoration Chapel is available for adoration of the Blessed Sacrament 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with the use of a code to enter the Chapel. The code is available through the Parish Office. Please make sure you refer to the Adoration Chapel Etiquette posted in the Chapel, on the Parish’s Facebook Page and on the Parish’s
website. Become a partner in our parish goal of year round Perpetual Adoration of Our Lord. Visit our Parish website at www.ollchapin.org and click on “Adoration PRO” at the top of the page. Questions, contact Administrator, Mike Weinzapfel at [email protected]
