TECHNICAL FEATURES
GLXFor starters these rods are 25% lighter than rods of comparable strength, which you will notice
as soon as you take the rod from the car and carry it to the bank side. Once rigged, you will fi nd
the fast action, medium/stiff to stiff and progressive tapers help you throw out beautiful high-
speed loops with new found ease. After one of these beautiful casts, you will get the opportunity
to enjoy its incredibly sensitive tip while fi ghting the fi sh you couldn’t quite reach before. It may
seem presumptive to suggest you can’t experience this with someone else’s fl y rod, but quite
frankly no other rod maker has GLX graphite. Not even close. Basically, whether you are an
expert fl y angler who wants every last bit of his ability to shine through, or an intermediate
angler who wants to improve his abilities practically overnight, the GLX is the rod you need.
In 1993 G. Loomis introduced GLX, the ultimate performance fi shing tool, which was fi rst off ered in
our fl y rod line up, and then shortly after expanded into our casting and spinning rods. In collaboration
with the leading USA carbon fi bre manufacturer, a custom ultra high strength high modulus fi bre
is engineered specifi cally for fi shing rod applications. Combined with new mandrel tapers to
optimize the new fi bres, it creates the ultimate lightweight, sensitive, and best casting rod EVER!
IMXSerious Anglers with state of the art equipment know that a great rod is essential, and that’s why you
fi nd people all over the world fi shing IMX rods. It was the IMX breakthrough that put G. Loomis on
the map, and it’s no secret why. Th eir high modulus graphite makes them extremely sensitive, giving
you a “picture” of what the lure is doing every inch of your retrieve. You’ll feel every rock, every bush,
every weed, every twitch your bait makes, and when the subtle take occurs, it will feel like the biggest
vacuum in the world just sucked in your bait. It’s hard to describe, but easy to appreciate. And talk
about strong... you can haul in the meanest underwater critters from the heaviest cover with minimal
eff ort. Incredibly, however, they’re some of the lightest rods on the market so you can fi sh day after day
without fear of your casting arm committing mutiny. Distance, accuracy, sensitivity, strength, these
rods truly have it all. Apart from our GLX, there’s not a rod anywhere that can outperform an IMX.
Guide types -
In 2003, with our introduction of CrossCurrent Fly rods we debuted a new guide called RECOIL.
RECOIL guides are made from a special nickel titanium alloy with unique physical properties
which match perfectly with the rod blank. Until now, fi shing rod guides have been plated or have
used ceramic inserts to provide wear resistance. RECOIL guides are made from an extremely
hard but fl exible “Shape Memory” alloy, which does not require plating, cannot corrode in any
environment, and returns or “RECOILs” to its original shape after repeated deformations. We
use RECOILs on every new fl y or cast / spin GLX rod that we build. Th e properties match up
perfectly with our GLX rods and with additional weight reduction and sensitivity it only makes
a GLX rod that much better! Having no inserts means that the inner ring cannot pop out,
which could happen with conventional guides, meaning that you don’t have to stop fi shing.
Note - On Roaring River Greased Line rods the guides are Hopkins & Holloway guides.
Th e Dredger & Stinger series take Recoil on the GLX models.
WHAT WE MEAN BYACTION AND POWERAction
Rod action refers to the fl ex characteristics of a rod, varying from Slow to Extra-Fast. An Extra-Fast
action rod fl exes mainly at the tip. Slower (or softer) action rods fl ex throughout the entire length
of the rod. Moderate action rods fall in between. We tailor the action of each of our rods to the
particular fi shing application for which they’re designed, taking into account the preferred fi shing
action, optimum casting range, fi ghting power, the feel of the rod, and countless other variables.
Power
We rate the power of our rods on a scale of 00 to 8. Th is rating should give you an idea of how each
rod in the series compares in terms of lifting, fi ghting and casting strength. Because each series
is rated independently, a 2-power Spin Jig rod, for example, does not feel the same as a 2-power
Steelhead rod. Another way to measure power is resistance to fl ex or how much each specifi c
rod bends under load. Th e 2-power rod fl exes more easily than a 3-power and so on. Generally
speaking, the heavier your choice of line and lure, the higher the power rating you’ll need.
“To make every day you spend on the water more memorable”
Last year whilst visiting customers throughout Europe, presenting our products and making casting demonstrations at fly events, I was
asked the following question several times. “Is it true that G.Loomis rods will be produced in the Far East in future?” Th e answer is a
defi nite ‘No’. Quite the reverse in fact for 2009 was a year in which the decision was taken to expand production in Woodland, USA
- home of G.Loomis. Th e overall aim is to enhance our quality standards, reinforce the R&D team and re-organise the sales and
marketing operations. Like most companies, G.Loomis’s greatest asset is its’ people, all of whom have many years of experience
in designing and producing fly and spinning rods and, most importantly, share a common passion for angling.
Th at knowledge, know-how and passion has resulted in some fantastic new ranges for 2010 including the Crankbait Deep
Flex and Jerkbait series, and for anglers who love the surf, the Pro Green Series - winner of the “Saltwater Rod Best of
Show ICast 2009” award. For fly anglers there are three new amazing series of rods; the Max GLX Czech Nymph
- specifi cally designed for nymph fishing, the new 4pc Stinger GLX series, and the totally new VersaSpey. New
accessories have also been added including the Max Taper flylines, along with some exciting new additions
to the Luggage and Clothing series.
I hope you enjoy the new catalogue and don’t forget, with G.Loomis you’re not just buying a rod,
you’re buying a rod designed, rolled, assembled and hand finished in Woodland, Washington,
by some of the best craftsmen in the world.

MAX GLX COMPETITIONTh e Max GLX Competition rods are designed specifi cally to suit the demands of
serious Stillwater anglers. Made with hi-tech GLX graphite, the rods have an extra-
stiff action and fast taper designed to deliver fast line speed and incredible distance.
Available in a range of three line ratings, from #6 to the all-powerful #8 model.
MAX GLXTh e Max GLX are the result of the need for ultimate speed and control under the most
demanding casting and fi shing conditions. Ideally suited to casters who demand fast cycle
time, these rods have the extra-stiff action and fast taper needed to push either Hi-D or fl oating
lines with ease, from the drifting boat or while drifting the river in a raft. Also excellent for
long line nymphing with weighted fl y or indicator, or to make a tight cast into a stiff wind.
When you want to take control no matter the conditions the Max GLX is your rod.
MAX GLX “CZECH NYMPH” A unique fl y rod series designed for a special style of tournament stream angling in Europe where
speed and line control are paramount to success. Th ese are extremely fast, 10-foot, 4-piece rods
with light, sensitive tips to help anglers make short, accurate drifts with weighted nymphs. Th e
technique requires very little in the way of traditional casting. Anglers fl ick weighted fl ies upstream
of the target area and then, using the extra rod length, and long, light leaders, actually guide the
fl ies along the bottom, under tension. Th e extra-fast taper in these rods provide a quick hook set,
so anglers can react before the fi sh spits the fl y. Th e 3-weight is for smaller fi sh and protecting very
light tippets. Th e 4-weight is for slightly heavier tippets and larger fi sh. Th e technique is quickly
gaining a following in the U.S. as anglers discover new ways to fool wily trout on pressured waters.

WHISPERCREEK GLXHands and knees approaches, gin clear pools, and trout with severe aversions to sloppy casts,
that’s where the WhisperCreek series earns its stripes. Based upon the original StreamDance
GLX Presentation series fl y rods, we’ve tweaked the design and changed the colour to clearly
distinguish these smooth casting “presentation” action rods from our other series. Featuring
the fi nest diameter tips in the business, they’ll track by intuition, and are specifi cally designed to
load up close for accurate shorter casts to spooky fi sh using Gossamer tippets. When stealth and
precision are more important than overwhelming force, these are the rods to have in hand.
EASTFORKEastFork fl y rods are a new range of performance fl y rods at less than premium pricing. Th ese rods
utilise extra high modulus graphite materials to create a slim diameter profi le blank that zings your
line out with Extra Line Speed. Th e fast taper/stiff design helps the caster to form tight loops for
added control and authority under all conditions. A rich, full body cabernet satin colour envelopes
the blank. A ported reel seat with burl cork insert is branded with our Skeleton Fish logo.
XPERIENCEXperience fl y rods are a new range of high performance/high value travel fl y rods. Utilizing
the same high modulus graphite found in the top of the range rods of other brands, the rod
tapers have been crafted to cast eff ortlessly with a lightweight feel, yet with durability to
become an heirloom. Th e lighter sizes, with medium fast taper and stiff ness, provide the high
line speed needed for accuracy and control. As the demands of casting greater distance with
larger weighted fl ies arise, the #8 and heavier models are designed with fast/stiff er taper to
meet what ever challenge swims within range. Finished in a rich mahogany brown colour with
a new anodised reel seat these rods are suitable for all fresh and saltwater conditions.

ROARING RIVER GREASED LINE SERIESOver a century ago Jock Scott wrote of Greased Line fi shing as performed by A.H.E. Wood to present
a fl y broadside to salmon to entice the fi sh to strike. Th is traditional form of Spey casting maintains a
relatively fi xed line length of 65-100 feet, allowing you to cover water without retrieving or lengthening
line on each cast; keeping you less tired and more focused on your prize. Th ese powerful designs use
the full bend of the rod, fl exing through the mid-section when fully loaded. Th e Roaring River Greased
Line series of two-hand rods off er the ultimate combination of power and grace in a rod and provide
you perfect swing speed and fl y control. For Spey casts from 50 to 150 feet the Roaring River Greased
Line two-hand rod series will truly allow you to fi sh the water “Fine and Far off .” - Steve Choate
ROARING RIVER DREDGER GLXTh is is the “go to” rod to cover Northwest steelhead under a wide range of river conditions, lines and
fl ies. Rod action is moderate with a positive feel, allowing the angler to use a bit more authority lifting
heavier sinking lines with heavily weighted fl ies, resetting the anchor, then delivering a long cast.
Expect eff ortless 50 to 90 foot casts, with short belly head and running monofi lament. Th is rod is at
home on larger western rivers where continuous longer casts are needed to cover the run and battle of
big fi sh when they decide to nail your fl y. It is a must rod for trips to the Dean, Babine, Kispiox rivers.

ROARING RIVER SERIESTHE THREE STYLES OFROARING RIVER TWO-HAND RODSTh e Roaring River Series is designed for the three primary casting techniques
used throughout the world: Traditional, Skagit and Scandinavian.
ROARING RIVER GREASED LINETo address the Traditional style of two-hand casting, our fi eld experts have helped to defi ne the
Roaring River Greased Line rods; seven rods ranging from a 14’ #8/9 wt. to a 17’ #10/11 wt. Designed
to cast long belly fl oating or sinking lines using a long casting stroke, this traditional form of spey
casting maintains a fi xed line of 65 to 100 feet. Th ese rods allow you to cover water without retrieving
or lengthening line on each cast, keeping you less tired and more focused on the prize. Th ese
powerful designs use the full bend of the rod, fl exing through the mid-section when fully loaded.
Greased Line GLX – Th e Greased Line GLX is crafted with our proprietary GLX
graphite along with the fi nest rod components available today. Featuring Hopkins and
Holloway guides and exquisitely crafted Portuguese cork handles, fi tted with a special
composite cork end-cap and fore grip. Made with our exclusive off set - oval sculptured
barrel reel seat, each with an ivory style insert engraved with a fl y graphic.
ROARING RIVER DREDGERWhen you need to get down fast in swift, deep drifts, the new Roaring River Dredger will
comfortably manage the sinking tips and weighted fl ies needed for Skagit style casting. Th is model
is designed to throw short to medium belly 38 to 62 ft. lines using the balanced medium casting
stoke, refi ned over time by the northwest steelhead fi shermen. Requiring less back cast space
than traditional casting, this rod provides excellent distance with some shoot to the cast.
Dredger GLX – Th is is the top of the Dredger range, featuring our proprietary GLX
graphite along with the fi nest rod components available today. With nickel titanium recoil
guides by REC these cast as slick as they look. Exquisitely crafted Portuguese cork handles
with a special composite cork end-cap and fore grip are fi tted to our exclusive off set - oval
sculptured barrel reel seat, each with an ivory style insert engraved with a fl y graphic.
ROARING RIVER STINGEROriginally targeted at Scandinavian style casters, these rods have also become very popular
for use with both Traditional and Skagit lines, particularly for casters looking for fast action
rod performance. Th e taper and power of these rods are perfectly balanced to enable the
angler to change lines and casting styles in order to achieve long casts with less eff ort. With
a choice of either 14’ or 15’ models, both will help you generate high line speed and give great
shooting distance casts. With a fast action taper, these rods will also let you make overhead false
casts - where back-casting room is suffi cient - generating the highest line speed possible.
Originally launched in 2004, these two 3 piece rods are now regarded as
the benchmark against which other Salmon rods are assessed.

GLX STINGER SERIESG.Loomis introduced their two-hand “RoaringRiver” series back in 2004. Developed around
the three dominant forms of spey casting – Traditional, Skagit and Scandinavian, the series
is recognised as one of the most comprehensive line-ups of two-hand fly rods in the industry.
Th e Scandinavian style Stinger rods, whilst still available in original 3-piece confi guration,
are now also available in a more transport-friendly 4-piece. Like the 3-piece, the rod actions
remain fast and powerful to help create narrow loops using an underhand casting stroke.
Since the physical weight of the line reflects the true rating for each rod, we’ve converted our
traditional line-size system to grains and grams for a more universal rating system.
Th e new GLX Stinger also incorporates nickel titanium RECOIL guides by REC which help
make the rod noticeably lighter. Th ey’re also flexible, making a mistake like catching a tree
branch nothing more than an inconvenience. Th e handle shape has also been refi ned and
the overall diameter reduced. Th e high-quality Portuguese cork, special composite end-cap
and fore grip are fitted to an off set oval sculptured barrel reel seat with ivory eff ect insert and
triple wing locking nuts, to help loosen or lock the reel easily - even in cold temperatures.
VERSASPEY FLY RODSWe used our “blend” fi bre technology and moderately priced components to create a new range
of two-hand salmon and steelhead fl y rods that are so-named because of their “versatility”.
Balancing the rod with the right line-weight allows these rods to perform all the dominant casting
methods with exceptional comfort and control. Th ey are better than our expectations… they
are fantastic! Th ey have dual fl y line-ratings along with weight-ratings in grains to help select
the right balance. For fl oating lines with short, mid- and long-belly integrated lines, use the dual
weight line listed for the rod. When using Scandinavian and Skagit shooting lines (sink-tips not
included), use the grain-weight for reference. Th e rods range in length from 12’ 6” to 13’ 6” and are
well suited for short/compact length shooting heads, yet they are long enough for full fl y lines.
ROARING RIVER GLX SWITCHIf you are looking for the fl exibility to make traditional single hand casts, roll casts,
or full-on spey casts, the new GLX Switch rod is defi nitely worth a look. Each of
the three rods in the series are 11’ and have light, progressive actions.

CROSSCURRENT SALTWATER SERIESSaltwater fl y fi shing is a passion, a fanatical pursuit with zeal fuelled by the degree of diffi culty required
to reach the ultimate goal. It’s fast fi sh and skinny water for some . . . big fi sh and blue water for
others. Sometimes it’s fi nesse and long leaders, but most of the time it’s brute strength and power!
Creating fl y rods for such a demanding fi shery requires a lot of dreaming and a lot of fi shing.
Messrs Pallot, Wejebe, Rajeff and Loomis, along with a cast of hundreds, shared their angling
and casting expertise to help create the most advanced series of saltwater rods ever made.
Our CrossCurrent series includes 15 unique rods that put the odds in your favour by
creating more aerodynamic loops, extreme line speed and superior casting accuracy. And
now that you’ll reach the fi sh, moving them away from trouble and ultimately in your
direction is much easier with the CrossCurrent’s stiff , powerful butt-section.
Th e top of the range are the six GLX 4-piece models, ranging from 6 to 12-weights.
With the ergonomic grip and our exclusive off set-oval sculptured barrel reel seat,
these rods are not only extremely tough but a delight to the eyes as well.
When you need to throw extra long casts in the surf or from jetties try one
of the three CrossCurrent Beach rods. Great for cutting through strong
onshore winds and delivering those extra large Deceiver patterns.
If you’re a blue water fanatic, the super powerful 8’3” 15-weight billfi sh rod is a revelation
in its own right. A gimbaled fi ghting butt allows anglers to use a fi ghting belt if needed. If
not, there’s a removable rubber butt cap. If you need even more leverage (we seriously doubt
it), there’s a cork fi ghting grip just above the main grip to help you even the odds.
Th e remaining six models are all 3-piece, fast tapered, power rods designed to cover the gamut
of saltwater fl y fi shing opportunities. Th ey’re a blend of strength and durability in a powerful
matrix that provides a wonderful casting rod capable of handling big fi sh with authority. Our
CrossCurrent rods have Fuji stripper guides and stainless steel, oversized, double-foot snake guides
with a durable pear-shaped tip-top. All CrossCurrent fl y rods feature premium grade Portuguese
species cork and each comes with a soft protective rod sock and Cordura-covered case.

Although, by comparison to other reel designs, fl y reels
are relatively simple, the demands placed upon them
can be exacting and extreme. Here at G.Loomis we
understand this, and all models are engineered
to withstand continuous use in a wide variety
of situations. Lightweight aluminium
construction and micro adjustable disc drags
are common features, as is the engineering
excellence associated with G.Loomis.
CROSSCURRENTA family of four phenomenally good looking fl y reels that are strong, lightweight, durable and
fi tted with 2 shielded A-RB bearings + 1 roller bearing for greater resistance against corrosion/
oxidisation. Both spools incorporate a push button quick release and wooden counter-balanced
handle. Th e multi-disc, waterproof drag has an ambidextrous quick-change system. Supplied
with bespoke reel case and 1 spare cold-forged, double anodised spool as standard.
EASTFORKFly rods have become increasingly lighter thanks to the use of new materials and
technology - it is therefore important that reels follow suit to ensure a well-balanced
outfi t. Th e Eastfork range features a cold forged body and quality drag system. At
160 grams, the 7/8 version is one of the lightest metal reels on the market.
Both 3/4 and 5/6 sizes incorporate a single disc, micro-adjustable drag,
whilst the 7/8 and 9/10 feature a double disc system.

STREAMDANCE WF• Th e Streamdance fl ylines have been made with special
running edges along the full length of the line which greatly
improve slickness and reduce friction against the rings.
• Th e new braided core has a very low level of stretch for improved
energy transfer, line control, sensitivity and low memory.
• Th e high aerodynamic profi le and the extra-long head signifi cantly
increases accuracy, control and presentation at any distance.
• At larger sizes the Streamdance is an excellent single hand spey line.
EASTFORK WF• Th e EastFork is an all-round fl yline designed
to suit most fi shing conditions.
• Th e line features an easy loading design at the head
able to punch out both light and weighted fl ies.
• Built on a braided core for virtually zero memory.
• Available as a high quality fl oating, intermediate, double
taper, or full density compensated fast sinker.
• Overall, a range that represents outstanding value for money.
STREAMDANCE DT• Th e Streamdance DT utilises the same materials and manufacturing technology
that is common to all Streamdance WF fl y lines. Th e improved double taper design
helps refi ne the delicate presentation needed when fi shing for trout and grayling
with small fl ies, and gives you a feeling of complete control over the line.
• Th e high buoyancy tip and front taper lands gently, yet still maintains enough energy
to turn over your fl y and present it with pinpoint accuracy at any distance.

SPINNING RODS · SOFT PLASTIC
JIG & WORM SERIES
We all know largemouth bass are cover-oriented creatures. Th ey
seek very specifi c comfort levels, dramatically infl uenced by water
temperature, bait activity and oxygen content. Find all three and
you’ve found bass fi shing’s nirvana. Although controlling the
conditions is challenging, you can improve your chances by fi shing
these rods no matter what Mother Nature throws your way.
We’ve pushed the boundaries as far as we ever have with these rods. Th e fi rst thing you’ll notice
with these jig & worm rods is the action. Th ey have a much faster taper which lowers your casting
trajectory, providing more accuracy and far better line/lure control. Casting into tight spots or
any small opening in heavy cover is one thing, but pulling an oversized largemouth out of that
same pocket is quite another. Th is calls for moving the power zone up towards the tip, making the
overall rod stiff er. We’ve managed to address this without adding any additional weight. Numerous
fi eld testers can attest to fi shing all day long, hardly remembering holding a rod in their hands.
Th e GLX models add dynamic rod tapers and the unique new, lightweight Recoil®
guide system. Th e result? An unbelievably sensitive, feather-light fi shing instrument
that gives you total confi dence and improves your success immediately.
JIG & WORM RODS - SPINNING
JIG & WORM RODS - CASTINGLENGTH: 6’8” | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGFor smaller worms, jigs, and grubs. An excellent 10-pound line rod for lighter duty, clear
water applications. Nice soft tip for casting smaller, light baits, but has surprising power in
butt-section for fi shing jigs.
LENGTH: 6’8” | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGBalances perfectly with 14-pound line and 3/8-ounce jigs and 6” worms. Moves big fi sh with surprising
ease and still feels like a feather in your hand. May be the best all-around rod of the bunch.
LENGTH: 6’8” | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGA powerful jig and large worm rod for fi shing in close around heavy cover. It has
a magnum butt to move fi sh to the boat in a hurry and still has enough tip to cast
smaller baits when necessary. It’s a 20-pound line rod for serious pitching.
LENGTH: 6’8” | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGWhen you need to fi sh lighter line or smaller, lighter baits in really clear water, a spinning rod is
a great option. Not just any spinning rod. One with a truly extra-fast taper for accurate, pinpoint
casts and enough beef to move a fi sh away from trouble in spite of the whisper-thin line.
LENGTH: 7’1” | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGTh e ultimate heavy-cover jig/worm rod. Peg a one-ounce worm sinker on your line and pitch it into the
nastiest stuff you can fi nd. Th is is “top of the food chain” stuff . No sissies allowed. Fish the hydrilla, the
trees, the cypress knees, the buck brush… it just doesn’t matter. Looking for a GREAT peacock bass rod?
LENGTH: 7’1” | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGWith a light tip and a powerful butt-section this rod is a perfect choice for fi shing lighter line and small
jigs, especially in clear water when you need longer casts and more leverage for a long range hookset.
LENGTH: 6’8” | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGSmall worm/jig head combos, 5” grubs, small topwaters, little jigs, gin-clear water, just
enough wind to make casting to fi nicky bass, tough. A tough proposition? You bet! Here’s
our answer: an ultra-sensitive spinning rod designed especially for fi nesse fi shing.
LENGTH: 6’8” | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGWhen the fi sh get a little bigger and the cover gets thicker, you need more power. If you still
prefer to stick with a spinning rod, this is the right choice. It will fi sh lighter jigs and worms
eff ectively, but it also gives you the power to step up to heavier baits or stronger line for
thicker cover or deeper water. It’s fi nesse fi shing with a bigger gun. It’s advantage angler!

With the success and demand of the Jig & Worm Series rods we’re off ering Jig & Worm MossyBack. Made
with a special blend of graphite and designed with the same tapers giving them the same great actions.
With Fuji® Alconite guides, these rods are available in the Jig & Worm, Carolina Rig, and Flipping Sticks.
Th e actions are very fast, enabling you to use a much shorter casting stroke that just loads and
locks. Not having to wait for the rod to load results in more accuracy and repetition.
Th e GLX models feature, super-lightweight, (nickel titanium alloy) RECOIL® line guides. Th ese
guides are extremely tough, fl exible, and provide a noticeable reduction in overall rod weight.
Th e butt ends are made from a super durable composite cork.
Compared to traditional rubber ends, they are very quiet when bounced against a boat
surface. And the rounded edge results in friendlier contact with the rib cage.
Th e core of the Jig & Worm Series is, well, what else… the “Jig & Worm” rods! We off er six MossyBack
6’8” models ranging from 2 to 4-power for pitching jigs and worms. Two longer, more versatile 7’1”
models, ranging from 2 to 5-powers, that extend casting range and line control for deeper water.

CAROLINA RIG
Our Carolina Rig rods are designed to make throwing those long leaders and heavy
weights much easier. It’s a long rod (7’3”) with long rear grips for total, two-handed
casting control. Th e added length also increases casting distance so you can cover
more water, as well as a long arcing rod sweep for positive hooksetting power.
FLIPPING STICKS
If “fl ipping” is one of your favorite techniques, we think our new GLX fl ipping
rod can be described with one word – astonishing! First of all, it is a one-
piece and very powerful, yet so light you’ll wonder how we did it.
LENGTH: 7’5” | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGImagine a rod so light you can fl ip all day long. One-piece construction eliminates even more weight
and the titanium Recoil® guides… well, you get the picture. If not, try one out and decide for yourself
whether this isn’t the lightest, most responsive, most sensitive fl ipping stick you’ve ever fi shed.
LENGTH: 7’6” | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGTh is is our original fl ipping stick, and it’s an amazingly versatile rod considering the stiff ness.
Th e tip of this model is slightly softer than the other fl ipping sticks, making it fl exible
enough to cast Carolina rigs or big jigs, and anglers use it with great success, muscling
largemouths out of deep-water weedbeds. It’s an excellent power-fi shing tool.
LENGTH: 7’3” | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGTh e magnum Carolina Rig rod. A slightly longer rear grip for two-handed
casting control and the overall rod length provides much more positive
hooksets. Th is is the magnum version to get fi sh out of the thick stuff .

NEW
JERKBAIT SERIES
Fishing jerkbaits, whether early in the spring or later in the year requires a lot of confi dence. You
have to believe the fi sh are there and you must be patient. In cold water, it’s a pull, pause, pull,
pause, technique with lots of emphasis on the pause. Sometimes it’s as long as 30 to 40 seconds of
just letting the lure suspend. Th is is a deadly technique, especially with smallmouth early in the
season. You need a rod with a light, responsive tip that allows you to fi sh the bait properly without
sacrifi cing power. Th ese rods are designed with fast tips and progressive tapers in the mid-section
so the angler can work the lures correctly with minimal eff ort. Eff ective for spots, largemouth or
smallmouth, it all relates to water temperature. When it’s cold, you fi sh very slow, when it’s warmer,
you speed things up quite a bit. Sometimes you need to be super aggressive with the lure movement
and this rod has the power to do that and still not overload it, but when you need to be subtle, the
tip is light enough and responsive enough to impart a slight twitch if that’s what it takes to get the
fi sh going. Th ere is plenty of reserve power in the butt-section for getting fi sh heading your way.
LENGTH: 6’ 3” | POWER: MEDIUM | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGTh is rod is designed specifi cally for fi shing small to medium-sized jerkbaits in shallow water and
tight quarters where a shorter rod is preferred to keep line and lure under control, allowing you
to react quickly and move the fi sh away from cover. It allows you to fi sh the tip straight down to
make short, quick strokes to impart the proper action to the lure. Once you hook a fi sh, G.Loomis’
proprietary, progressive-power-taper takes over, providing increased power as the blank fl exes.
LENGTH: 6’ 3” | POWER: MEDIUM-HEAVY | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGIf you fi sh where the water is murkier and you need a lure with a larger profi le to make sure the fi sh
know it’s in the area, this is an excellent rod. Designed for fi shing heavier lines when you’re fi shing
lakes with more brush or trees and especially when you know there are big fi sh around. It still has
that nice tip-to-butt, progressive-power-taper that improves casting distance and lure control. It’s
extremely sensitive so when you’re deadsticking a bait, there’s no doubt when a bass takes it.
LENGTH: 6’ 9” | POWER: MEDIUM | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGWith the same line/lure ratings as the 6’3” version (GL11743-01), the extra length of this rod gives you
more tip speed to increase casting distance and allow you to fi sh deeper water more eff ectively. You
can move the bait faster and more aggressively so you can cover more water. It is especially helpful
when you want to stay back off the fi sh because of clear water or the fi sh are just plain spooky.
LENGTH: 6’ 9” | POWER: MEDIUM-HEAVY | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGTh is rod has the exact power-rating, action, line and lure rating as its shorter cousin, the GL11744-01, but
it is a full 6” longer which gives you much greater casting range and more versatility in deeper water.

NEW
CRANKBAIT SERIES
Our Crankbait Series rods incorporate all the elements of the best fi breglass crankbait rods, but with
all the added benefi ts of graphite. Th ese rods have a soft, yet dynamic action that allows your lure to
work perfectly and allows the fi sh to inhale the bait, but unlike fi breglass rods, they’re incredibly light,
super responsive, and extremely sensitive. Th eir reduced weight makes them far less tiring to cast.
Th ey’re sensitive enough that you can feel a bass suck in a suspended jerkbait and they recover
quickly so you won’t have to worry about keeping your line tight when a fi sh jumps. In other words,
you gain all the advantages of graphite with the action and fl exibility of glass. Each rod in the series
is crafted in a gorgeous metallic copper fi nish. Th ese are truly state-of-the-art crankbait rods.
CRANKBAIT DEEP FLEX
Our Deep Flex (DF) crankbait rods are a totally new (2010) design that creates a much slower taper and
softer fl ex. Th ey are incredibly light and provide unbelievable sensitivity and lure control. Th e softer
fl ex improves the lure’s action. Th e softer rod allows you to work the lure over or around the cover, the
way it was designed to, which is far more attractive to the fi sh. Bass actually suck the lure in by fl ushing
a large amount of water through their gills, bringing the lure along with it. Rods with too fast an action
can actually pull the bait away from the bass and not allow the natural “fl ow” to occur, resulting in short
strikes, poor hook-ups and missed fi sh. Another advantage is that the softer action is very forgiving
when the fi sh runs. Now it’s time to get excited. Crankbait anglers have never had it so good!
LENGTH: 7’ | POWER: 5 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGWhen fi shing larger deep-diving crankbaits, this is the rod you’ll want. It’s extremely light and sensitive
enough that you can feel a big bass just look at your bait, and so responsive you’ll be ready for every move
he makes. Th e slow action allows your bait to work perfectly and lets the fi sh catch up with it. And the
5-power rating means there’s plenty of muscle once you hook into that proverbial monster of the deep.
LENGTH: 7’ | POWER: 7 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGTh e big daddy of our crankbait series. Th e perfect rod for big, oversize deep divers. It’s
the perfect combination of power and fl exibility to handle the big Bagley baits, the 3/4-ounce
Fat Free Shad and those bottom raking DD22s. A great big bass crankin’ rod.
LENGTH: 6’6” | POWER: 3 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGTh is is a beautiful rod for throwing medium-size crankbaits and surface lures. It’s awesome
for deep-diving lures like the smaller Fat Free Shad and Wiggle Warts. It works well in close
quarters thanks to its shorter length. Th is rod really shines with big stickbaits. It loads easily,
it’s extremely lightweight, and it has more than enough power to handle big fi sh.
LENGTH: 7’ | POWER: 3 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGIf you fi sh medium-size crankbaits you’ll love the GL10532-01. It’s great for deep-diving lures like a Fat
Free Shad, and it’ll throw a Rattle Trap the proverbial country mile. Stout enough to handle buzzbaits,
the slower action allows fi sh to engulf the bait, yet still has the power to turn a lunker away from trouble.
LENGTH: 7’ 1” | POWER: 5 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGTh is is a super-lightweight version featuring RECOIL guides and our very own GLX
graphite. We made it an inch longer because we could. It’s so light and sensitive
you won’t believe how good it fi shes until you get your hands on one!
LENGTH: 6’ 8” | POWER: MEDIUM | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGTh is is a good rod for fi shing small to medium-sized lipless crankbaits, deep-divers and shallow runners.
It’s perfect for fi shing crankbaits in open water. Its soft fl ex and slow taper really gives the lure a lot
more action. It is extremely accurate for close-quarter work. If you are one of those anglers that
think fi breglass is the answer, then you need to try this rod. It has all the “advantages” glass gives you
at half the weight and talk about sensitive… it adds another whole dimension to fi shing crankbaits.
LENGTH: 7’ 2” | POWER: MEDIUM | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGWhen you need a little more casting distance and lure control, this 7’2” rod is just the ticket.
It has the right combination of length and power for fi shing ½ ounce lipless crankbaits and
medium to large-sized deep divers. It is extremely forgiving which not only enhances the action
of the lure, but keeps you from pulling hooks free when a bass jumps or makes a quick burst
for cover. Light, sensitive and extremely effi cient, this is the rod you’ve been looking for.

SPINNERBAIT SERIES
Like lots of successful techniques in bass fi shing, the keys are repetition and consistency. Any one of a
thousand casts could be the fi sh of a lifetime, so consistently placing your bait in the zone is extremely
important. Th ese rods are accurate and powerful, yet so light even the softest strike feels like an
explosion. Th ere are seven rods designed specifi cally to fi sh blades like they’re meant to be fi shed, with
power-ratings varying from light to heavy and lengths from 6’3” all the way up to 7’2”. Extra-fast tips give
you the ability to snap casts in and around all types of cover, with an extremely powerful butt-section
to keep even the biggest bass away from trouble. Fuji Alconite guides and “blank through” Fuji ESC reel
seats (except the GL11279-01, which has a standard trigger reel seat) combine with rear grip lengths
to make them both comfortable and effi cient. Finished in a deep red with dark contrasting wraps.
DROP SHOTOur Drop Shot rods have soft tips for twitching baits with power that will surprise
you as you lift while cranking a little faster for the hook set. All lightweight, durable Fuji Alconite
guides stacked forward to protect the line during extreme rod fl ex. Fuji “blank-thru-handle”
triggered reel seats are on the casting rods. Our own custom spinning reel seats allow you to
mount the reel forward so you can touch the blank above the cork for additional sensitivity.
LENGTH: 6’3” | POWER: 1 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGIt’s designed to fi sh smaller spinnerbaits, but has more than enough power in the butt-section
to handle big surprises. Th e light tip makes it an extremely easy rod to cast and it’s as accurate
as they come. Single or tandem spinnerbaits up to 3/8 ounce give you a lot of fl exibility in
any water and with this rod you’ll swear that you can feel every turn of the blade.
LENGTH: 6’10” | POWER: 0 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGHere’s a GLX version of the already extremely light fi nesse spinning model. When the bite is slight and
the fi sh are far in between, the GLX all but guarantees you won’t miss them then the opportunity comes.
LENGTH: 6’10” | POWER: 0 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGTh e Drop Shot revolution isn’t just for spin fi shers. It has a surprisingly light tip
with a powerful butt to give you optimum “drop-shot” performance in a casting
confi guration. It’s a lightline fi nesse angler’s dream rod, “guides up!”
LENGTH: 6’10” | POWER: 0 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGTh e ultimate in fi nesse spinning rods, it’s designed with an extremely light tip to give you
the perfect “bait shake,” yet the butt is so powerful and locks up so quickly it hooks the
fi sh before you realize it. A great addition to your arsenal when the bite gets tough.
LENGTH: 6’10” | POWER: 2 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGIf you just plain prefer a casting rod, but need to dangle a fi nesse worm in front of a very
negative largemouth, especially when you know he’s tucked back in a bush, this is an
excellent choice. Th ere’s enough extra power to let you fi sh a “Texas-rigged” bait and still
protect 10-pound line. With this rod, you can “drop” the bait and “lower the boom!”
LENGTH: 6’10” | POWER: 2 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGTh is (2-power) version off ers a slightly stiff er tip, allowing you to fi sh much
deeper water. Another advantage is “Texas-rigging” soft plastics when the
fi sh head for cover. Need a couple more fi sh? It can save the day!LENGTH: 6’9” | POWER: 2 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGDesigned for deeper water and heavier cover, but still light enough to cast all day and not wear you out. It’s
powerful, smooth casting and extremely accurate with the extra-fast tip and stiff mid-section. A longer
rear cork helps provide plenty of leverage and gives you two-handed casting and fi sh-fi ghting control. It’s
a gem in deep water, but fl exible enough to keep you fi shing even when the fi sh are in the thick stuff .
LENGTH: 6’3” | POWER: 2 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGA dynamic, all-around spinnerbait rod designed for bigger baits and larger bass while not being
too overpowering for smaller ones. Rated for spinnerbaits up to 1/2 ounce, its shorter length
and heavy butt-secton allows you to fi sh in and around brush or submerged timber without fear
of losing a fi sh. Th e extra-fast action gives you excellent casting range as well as accuracy.
LENGTH: 6’9” | POWER: 3 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGNeed a bigger blade or more bulk in the dirty water? Th is is the rod you’ll turn to. Want to fi sh
a bait that looks like a school of fi sh? Th is is the rod! Want a rod to pull a ten-pounder out of the
junk? Th is is the rod! Want a rod to increase your strike to hook ratio? Th is is the rod! Want a
rod that puts you in control and keeps you there? Th is is the rod! Want a rod for slow-rolling
big blades? Th is is the rod! Our point? THIS IS A VERY GOOD SPINNERBAIT ROD!
LENGTH: 6’9” | POWER: 2 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGTh ese two GLX models have been added to the line-up off ering unbelievable sensitivity. Th ey load
and recover quickly providing amazing accuracy. Extra-fast tips give you the ability to snap
casts in and around all types of cover, with an extremely powerful butt-section to
keep even the biggest bass away from trouble.
LENGTH: 6’9” | POWER: 1 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGWhen you’re fi shing rocky ledges, outcroppings or main lake points in clear or slightly stained water, and the
fi sh want a smaller bait, this is the rod of choice. Its extra length extends your casting range and gives you
better control of your lures in deeper water. When a big fi sh nabs your bait, the powerful butt-section locks
up and says “NO!” It’s a long-range, fi nesse angler’s style of rod, smooth yet powerful, light and super sensitive.
LENGTH: 7’2” | POWER: 4 | PIECES: 1 |CASTINGBig, oversized spinnerbaits with big, oversized trailers need a big powerful rod. True statement, but
you don’t have to suff er to fi sh these popular new baits. We go to larger, heavier spinnerbaits to keep
our presentation in the fi sh zone longer... Th e DEEP zone. Th is is where the big blades go and where
the big bass live, and this is the rod to fi sh there. It’s a powerful, long-range casting tool that will give
you a good, positive hook set even on the deep shelves. Not a problem here! Th is rod will handle any
big fi sh, big lure situation with ease and it’s so sensitive you’ll wonder how you ever fi shed without it.

SHAKY HEADShallow, deep, around docks, and even when fi sh are on the beds, the ShakyHead may not be the go-to
tactic under normal conditions, but it’s highly eff ective when the going gets tough. When the fi sh are
hugging the bottom in tight cover the Shaky Head will get in their faces like no other technique.
LENGTH: 6’10” | POWER: 1 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGShakin’ the Shaky Worm is the key. Th e light tip will allow you to move your bait while the
stiff butt section provides the backbone to pull them out of the thickest deep water cover.
Sensitivity is the key for taking those slack line bites often encountered with this technique.
LENGTH: 6’10” | POWER: 2 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGGreat balance from tip to butt lets you work a ShakyHead downhill, allowing you to
feel the lightest taps. And it allows you to handle the bite when working it uphill, when
the fi sh feel their bait may be escaping. Either way, fi sh it deep, fi sh it often.
LENGTH: 6’10” | POWER: 2 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGGreat for deep fi shing around rocks when fi sh are hard on the river bed. Th e ShakyHead isn’t for

FROGTh is rod is a perfect blend of two extremes. Th e tip is soft enough to cast lightweight
“frog” baits while still having the power to set the hook and yank them out of

premium cork grip, and the perfect fi nish in, you guessed it, frog green.

LENGTH: 7’2” | POWER: 3 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGWhen you fi nally get back there where all the fi sh are chasing bait in the thick stuff and
you just can’t seem to cast that “light as air” soft-plastic frog anywhere near them, this is
the rod you need. Th e tip is light enough to cast a variety of topwater frog baits (3/8 – 1
ounce and up) and the butt says “you’re coming my way whether you like it or not.”

SWIMBAITBig baits mean big fi sh! Th at’s two very good reasons why we developed our line of swimbait
rods. Th ere are guys out there that have devoted their lives to pursuing double-digit monsters.
We’ve teamed up with them, learned from their experience, shared their secrets, and digested
what they believe is needed for the ultimate in a swimbait rod. Th ese rods are the result and they
cover the gamut of baits styles and sizes. Th ey are designed to fi sh soft and hard plastic baitfi sh
imitators and in the case of largemouth bass, especially really big largemouth bass – other fi nny
delicacies – like trout, small bass and panfi sh. We make our rear grips extra long so you can tuck
the rod butt under your arm rather than having it jab you in the ribs, which can be annoying
as well as painful. Th e extra handle length also provides leverage to improve casting distance
and control, not to mention handling the big bass you’ll be catching. Don’t forget the net!

LENGTH: 7’6” | POWER: 4 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGA slightly shorter swimbait rod designed primarily for the smaller baits and open water applications. It’s
so light you won’t believe the power it generates. It is extremely sensitive and casts those smaller sized
baits a “country mile”. Th e real test is when you hook a monster and that’s when this rod really shines.
LENGTH: 7’11” | POWER: 6 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGDon’t let the “medium-heavy” power-rating fool you. Th is is a stout rod, designed to fi sh the smaller 4-7”
soft, hollow belly swimbaits like Strike King’s Shadalicous, the Basstrix and Yum’s Money Minnow. It has
a powerful butt-section for extra-long casts and excellent hook-setting power. Th e tip is very responsive
and surprisingly light for all the power it creates. You can feel every wiggle of a swimbait’s tail and you can
feel even the lightest strike. Works well for any species that will eat a swimbait, including stripers and pike.

THE CLASSICSTh anks to G.Loomis, fi shing has gone beyond being an infectious sport. You could call it an addiction of
sorts, which has pushed us to create our family of casting and spinning rods that have remained the favorites
for millions of anglers worldwide. We call these Th e Classics. Th ese are the technological wonders that put
G.Loomis at the top. Nothing added, nothing taken away, these rods simply get the job done. Th ey hold your
fi rst fi shing memories and never become outdated for your next. In other words, they do
a great job of maintaining and feeding your addiction.
MAG BASSWhen it comes to performance and all-around fi shability, the Mag Bass rods are our pride and
joy. Th ese rods, originally designed for pitching jigs and worms for largemouth bass, have been
discovered by walleye anglers, smallmouth enthusiasts, pike chasers and even light-duty saltwater
folks. Th ey’re fast-action rods with a powerful, magnum butt-section that gives you increased
casting range, more eff ective hook sets (especially in deep water) and superior fi sh-fi ghting
control. Fuji reel seats, with our “mag touch” exposed blank near the trigger gives you superior
sensitivity as well as better casting control. You’ll fi nd yourself using these rods for everything...
jigs, plastic worms, soft jerkbaits, and whacky worms. Th ey are available in a wide range of lengths
and powers, plus the more popular models come in all four graphite performance levels.
CASTINGTh ere’s been a trend in the past few years toward longer rods and it’s a valid one, especially
since a lot of our lakes lose their cover as they mature and the brush and trees die off . Long
rods are great when you’re fi shing open water with plenty of casting room, but when you
start moving to the bank and the cover gets in the way, those long rods just won’t cut it.
Th is is where our Casting Rods shine. Shorter than their Mag Bass cousins, they have the
same fast actions and responsive tips you need for low trajectory, accurate casts.
LENGTH: 6’6” | POWER: 2 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGBecause it loads so easily, the GL10144-01 allows you to cast undersized baits with surprising power
and accuracy, particularly around docks, rocks, riprap and brush. Its light tip, paired with
a medium-heavy butt, makes this rod a good choice for a wide variety
of baits and techniques, including small jigs and worms.
LENGTH: 6’ | POWER: 1 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGA fast-action rod with a light power rating designed to protect light lines, yet still have the power
to move large fi sh. Th e softer tip increases casting accuracy, making it easy to snap-cast small to
medium-sized baits at diffi cult targets like pocket water and boat docks. Great for fi shing crystal-
clear water that doesn’t have a lot of heavy cover, where light line is an advantage. Th e length
allows you fl exibility for casting and depth control, while the light action is a perfect balance
between fl exibility and strength: soft enough to allow fi sh to inhale the lure, yet enough power to
control the fi sh. Great for fi nesse fi shing where presentation is key and lighter line is the rule.
LENGTH: 6’ | POWER: 3 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGIt has a powerful tip, which allows for a good hook set, with ample power to move fi sh away from heavy
cover, but it still has the fl exibility to fi sh a “super-spook” for surface action. Where this rod really shines
is throwing jigs and worms around docks, tule berms, rock outcroppings and other visible ambush
points. It has suffi cient length to increase casting range, without being cumbersome at close quarters.
If we had only one rod for all of your fi shing, and shorter was better, this would be our choice.
LENGTH: 7’ | POWER: 2 | PIECES: 2 | CASTINGTh is is a two-piece version of our ultra-light trolling rod for trout and kokanee. It’s a little
more powerful, with a 4-8 pound line rating, but it allows you to utilize the new low-drag/
lightweight trolling rigs that make light-line trolling a whole lot more fun. Th is is also a great
small spinnerbait and grub rod for small bass and a neat little rod for shad and panfi sh. If
you’ve been looking for a little casting outfi t for trout, this is it. Look out White River.
LENGTH: 6’ | POWER: 2 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGHere’s one of the most popular and versatile casting rods in the entire G.Loomis range,
capable of fi shing a variety of lures and techniques. A good rod for topwater lures, it’s
also an excellent choice for grubs and worms, especially when fi shing clear water with
10-12 pound test. Yet it will handle larger worms and up to 3/8 ounce jigs. It has enough
power to move fi sh away from cover, but it’s much better as an open water rod.
LENGTH: 7’ | POWER: 3 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGCarolina-rigged plastic worms require a bit longer rod to handle the long leaders associated
with the technique, while deep-water jig fi shing is much easier with a long rod because it
increases the leverage during the hook set and moves more line. It’s a matter of leverage, and
this rod makes the job a lot easier. Th e GL10155-01 is excellent for both applications.
LENGTH: 7’ | POWER: 4 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGA remarkably versatile deep-water jigging rod, this powerful 7-footer delivers increased tip
speed, longer casts and more positive hook sets. It works extremely well for Carolina-rigged worms,
pitching jigs in close or even light-duty fl ipping. If weeds are the dominant cover in your lake, you’ll
appreciate the magnum power of the GL10157-01 for pulling big bass out of the thick stuff .
LENGTH: 6’6” | POWER: 4 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGTh is is a powerful, fast-action rod, making it a good choice for most jigging applications, including
shallow-water pitching, deep-water jigging and plastic worms. Designed for largemouth
bass, but it doubles nicely for big northerns and light-duty muskie fi shing. Th e tip is stiff with
a magnum butt for moving large fi sh in heavy cover. It excels in brushy, tree-choked areas
where you need a powerful rod to get the fi sh to the boat. It’s also the perfect choice for fi shing
heavy jigs or large plastic worms in deep water where “feel” is paramount, and for heavyduty
spoon-jigging when your ability to set the hook in deep water is especially important.
LENGTH: 6’6” | POWER: 3 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGA good choice for fi shing light to medium jigs and worms, the GL10335-01 was designed to
fi sh bass, northerns and even walleyes in certain applications. But it also makes a very nice light
saltwater rod for snook, redfi sh and specks. It’s powerful, with a light tip, which allows for a good
hook set, and still has enough power to move fi sh away from heavy cover without feeling too stiff .
If we had to choose one casting rod for all of our fi shing, the GL10335-01 would be our choice.
LENGTH: 6’6” | POWER: 5 | PIECES: 1 | CASTINGWelcome to the “mega” jig rod in the Mag Bass Series. When you pitch a jig into a small,
brushy opening, you have to pull the fi sh out of that same hole. And when those fi sh are 5lb
plus largemouths, you rod had better be stout. It requires a rod with plenty of backbone. One
that’s light enough to use all day, yet quickly reacts with authority. It has a magnum fast taper
with an extra-strong tip, which means when you move the rod, the fi sh comes with it.

CLASSICS SPIN JIGA real bass fi sherman never, but never, admitted using a spinning rod, unless it was for panfi sh,
and even then it was iff y. But times are changing and so are techniques. First out of the closet
were the die-hard smallmouth anglers. Th ey favoured the spinning rod because they used lighter
line and smaller lures to fool those super-cautious brown bass. Th en, as fi nesse fi shing came
into play, more and more anglers found the spinning rod to be the perfect solution for the clear
water lakes where spotted bass and smallmouths abound. Th e only negative was that nobody
ever really off ered the nice, fast-action rods that the casting crowd enjoyed. Th at was until
we introduced the Spin Jig Series. It’s the unique blend of dynamic tapers and super-sensitive
materials that helped make these the rod of choice for serious light line anglers. Grubs, small
worms, hair jigs, split shot rigs, “mojo” rigs... you name it, the spin jig rod is a great option.
LENGTH: 6’ | POWER: 3 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGA powerful spinning rod designed to fi sh deep-water situations with jigging spoons, grubs and plastic
worms, the GL10212-01 makes a great rod in light to medium-heavy cover. Th e fast taper allows you
to move fi sh away from snags and still off ers maximum accuracy and lure control. We rate it for up to
15-pound line, but it’s probably best suited to 12-pound test. Its powerful butt-section and tip make it a
good choice for deep-water situations where sensitivity and fast recovery are paramount to success.
LENGTH: 7’ | POWER: 4 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGTh is powerhouse spinning rod is our spin version of a Carolina Rig rod, with more than
enough power to fi sh heavy cover and big jigs. You’ll enjoy this rod for pitching jigs and worms
around brush and tules, and it’s powerful enough to sub as a light-duty fl ipping stick.
LENGTH: 6’6” | POWER: 1 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGA specialty rod for fi shing lighter line on large streams and clear, deep-water lakes. Th e extra
length creates a wider arc and increased tip speed, giving you greater casting distance. It also
moves more line during the hook set, critical to success in deep-water situations. Designed to fi sh
smaller lures—especially in open-water situations where light line makes a diff erence. A terrifi c
deep-water crappie rod for big, brush-fi lled lakes where you might need slightly heavier tackle.
LENGTH: 6’ | POWER: 4 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGOur most powerful freshwater spinning rod. Designed to pull oversized fi sh out of heavy cover,
built with IMX graphite, it’s very light-you can fi sh it all day with minimal fatigue. Th e 6-foot
length allows low trajectory, accurate casts, and more than enough muscle to move large fi sh away
from trouble. You’ll appreciate the sensitivity and power for deep-water jig and spoon fi shing.
LENGTH: 7’ 6” | POWER: 2 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGSpecially designed as a deep-water spinning rod, this excels at fi shing small lead-head
jigs, tube jigs and small to medium crankbaits. Th e 7’ 6” length extends the angler’s
casting range and provides a much better hook set in deep water. Th is rod has plenty of
power for bigger fi sh, but it’s also very forgiving, thanks to its moderate action.
LENGTH: 6’ | POWER: 00 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGTh is rod incorporates an ultra-light tip and a strong butt-section, making it a very good choice
for spotted bass—especially where smaller lures and lighter line make a diff erence. Perfectly
balanced for 1/8 ounce grubs and jigs with 6-pound line, this rod is better for swimming jigs
than bouncing them on the bottom. Th e tip is soft enough to fi sh 4-pound line and really light
baits, like tube jigs and crappie jigs, even when you downsize to 1/32 ounce. When those bass
get tough and you can see the bottom in ten feet of water, this rod will save your bacon.
LENGTH: 6’ | POWER: 2 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGTh is is our most popular warmwater spinning rod. It boasts a fast action and a strong tip, giving you
plenty of versatility for fi shing a variety of lures and live baits. Best paired with 10-pound line, this is
an excellent choice for fi shing Long-As or Rapalas, as well as 1/4-ounce lead-heads for swimming salt
grubs. It’s also a good rod for 4-inch “Texas-style” worm rigs or tube jigs. Th ere’s plenty of power to
set the hook, and it handles big fi sh extremely well, yet it’s light enough to enjoy smaller-sized fi sh, no
problem. If you prefer spinning rods, you’ll appreciate the accuracy and fl exibility this rod off ers.
LENGTH: 6’6” | POWER: 3 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGA fast, powerful taper, it’ll fi sh jigs and worms, as well as soft jerkbaits, and even
live bait. A good choice for fi shing plastic worms or grubs in deep water, especially
in moderate cover where more power is required. “Schoolie” stripers don’t stand a
chance. If you want one rod to fi sh a lot of diff erent situations, this is the one.
LENGTH: 6’6” | POWER: 2 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGOne of our most versatile warmwater spinning rods, the GL10502-01 has a fast taper for a
more positive hook set and greater casting distance. Th e extra length provides better line
and lure control, especially in deep water, where slack line may cost you a fi sh. A good choice
for fi shing minnow baits like the Long-A and Rapala, and the preferred rod for split-shotting
worms and grubs. If your preference for bass is spin over cast, this is a great rod.

WALLEYE SERIES
WALLEYE & PIKEPike and walleye fi shermen have one thing in common; fanaticism. One, focusing on the feel of every rock, weed and
subtle strike; the other, accuracy to place every one of ten thousand casts precisely with the power to navigate heavy
cover. Both our muskie and walleye ranges are engineered to perform for every specifi c application encountered in
the pursuit of these elusive species. We off er twelve models of walleye rods, in both spin and cast, that cover every
major technique – jigging, rigging, trolling, bottom bouncing, and cranking. One thing remains constant throughout
the range – nowhere will you fi nd a lighter, more advanced collection of rods made especially for walleye.
For pike hunters, there’s a short jerkbait rod for heavy cover, a jerkbait rod for open water, rods for every conceivable
bucktail, and even a trolling rod for the big lakes and serious plug pullers. After all, if you score your day on follows
and swirls and cast all week for one strike, at least you want to have an enjoyable rod to fi sh with.

bucktails like Th e Double Cow Girl or Musky Mayhem? Not a problem! Big baits like the

MUSKIE SERIESWhen it takes, on the average, 10,000 casts to catch one of these toothy critters, you’d better have
your game on and that includes the right equipment. Muskie are so elusive anglers are happy to
have a couple of “follows” during a day on the water. Th e lures are big, the line is heavy and the rods
have to be powerful to handle them, not to mention the fi sh. Th ese are ambush-oriented creatures
that come out of nowhere to chase down the right bait when presented properly. Th ey are explosive,
tough fi ghters and you have to be aggressive, not to mention patient. If everything works perfectly…
success! One false move and you go home wondering, “what if ”. Muskies aren’t all giants, but even
a small one is a challenge and the reward validates the risk. It’s a world of big baits and they are
getting even bigger. Giant swimbaits, huge plugs, oversized in-line, bucktail spinners and huge
spinnerbaits require long, powerful rods to cast and control these babies. It’s not a game for the faint
of heart! We’ve spent a lot of time studying the fi sh, the lakes, the rivers and the anglers who call the
Muskie their fi sh of choice. We’ve created a series of casting rods just for you die-hards that will do
everything you ask and more. Th ey aren’t your everyday Muskie rod, but then Muskies aren’t your
everyday fi sh. Th ese new rods are long, powerful, high performance fi shing instruments designed
specifi cally to fi sh the new hi-tech baits. You’ll cast farther, fi nd them surprisingly light for all that
power and be confi dent that when the “moment” happens you’ll be in total control. Carpe diem!

SPINNING RODS
A dynamic collection of light-duty and ultra-light freshwater spinning rods. We
designed them primarily for panfi sh and trout, but they satisfy a variety of diff erent
applications like small in-line spinners for bass, darts and light jigs for shad, spinners
for trout, small baits for bonefi sh, and even spoons for sea trout. Th ey are light-
duty all-around spinning rods with relatively soft butt-sections and light tips.
None are rated for over 10-pound line and most are in the 4 to 6-pound test range. If
you’re fi shing in tight quarters or really small creeks, we’d suggest the shorter models,
but if you frequent larger streams or ponds and lakes, we’d recommend
the longer rods because they protect light line better and give you
increased casting distance and a longer, more eff ective hook set.
LENGTH: 6’6” | POWER: 3 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNINGDesigned to fi sh up to 10-pound test and lures of up to 3/8 ounce, this fast-action rod
excels in strong currents and deep-water situations. It may not have the powerful butt
that you’ll fi nd in the Spin Jig Series, but it’s more than adequate for all but the largest
takers. It also makes a pretty good fi nesse rod for warmwater species when lighter
line is required, and it has the chops to handle pickerel, small pike and shad.
LENGTH: 7’ | POWER: 1 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNINGTh is is a dandy two-piece ultra-light spinning rod, designed for lakes and ponds where longer casts
and lighter line lead to success. Th e combination of the 7-foot length and the ultra-light action makes
it a good deep-water panfi sh rod. And if you like to fi sh bubble/fl y combinations for trout, this rod will
certainly do the trick, especially with a smaller bubble. It’s also a nice rod for drifting single salmon
eggs (or imitations) for trout in small streams. All in all, we consider this the perfect 4-pound test rod.
LENGTH: 7’ | POWER: 2 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNINGHere’s a real nice small-river trout and grayling rod. Ideal for 6-pound test, it has suffi cient
backbone to handle small bonefi sh and works well for shad. Spinner anglers will
appreciate the light tip and fast action for fi shing small to medium sized blades.
LENGTH: 7’ | POWER: 3 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNINGA great rod for shad, this fast-action, moderately powerful rod is designed to fi sh up to 10-pound test
and lures up to 3/8 ounce in strong currents and deep water. It will handle small bass and walleye
nicely, and it makes a good fi nesse rod for warm-water species when lighter line is a must.
LENGTH: 8’ 6” | POWER: 4 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNINGBig rivers, swift currents and hard fi ghting hawgs. Th ese spinning rods are designed for the
special needs of the Russian bank salmon fi sherman. Th ey allow you to make long eff ortless
casts with everything from large spinners to small, weightless egg clusters. And with the
sensitivity to feel subtleties of the drift, along with the strength to set the hook and land
these large fi sh, you may fi nd these to be the ultimate multi-purpose salmon rods.

SALMON SERIES
Th is is our home turf, salmon country. Th is is where we all grew up and learned
how to fi sh. Our local customers, guides and staff are among the fi nest salmon fi shermen
in the world. So when we asked them how to make the ultimate salmon rods, they had plenty
to say. We had countless conversations and came up with hundreds of designs and re-designs. Months
of trials and fi eld-testing resulted in the entire new lineup of salmon rods that fi ll this catalogue.
Trolling, backbouncing, spinners, plugging, hovering or bank fi shing, whatever your game, we’ve got you covered.
Th ese rods are powerful, light, sensitive and best of all, each one has an action specifi cally tailored for a technique that
puts the chromers in the boat. Gone are the days of lugging around one big stick and making it work (sort of) for all your
salmon fi shing needs. You can measure the diff erence in pleasure on the water and number of fi sh in the net. Enjoy.
Big rivers, swift currents and hard-fi ghting hawgs. Th ese spinning rods, one 8’6”, and one 9’, are designed
for the special needs of the Alaskan bank salmon fi sherman. Th ey allow you to make long eff ortless casts
with everything from large spinners to small, weightless egg clusters. And with the sensitivity to feel

SALAR SALMON TROLLING
HOT SHOT RODSWe designed these rods with light to medium tips and magnum-power butt sections, which make them
excellent casting tools and even better fi sh-fi ghting tools. If you’re unfamiliar, the Hot Shot technique
goes something like this... the angler positions his boat at the head of a run and allows the current to pull
the plug down to the fi sh zone. Th e boat then sweeps across the current so the plug covers the entire
width of the river (lure action is then monitored by watching the wiggle of the rod tip). When a fi sh hits,
the magnum butt section actually sets the hook for you. Th e boat operator keeps tension on the fi sh until
the angler can grab the rod from the holder. An extremely eff ective technique and a very versatile rod.
LENGTH: 7’6” | POWER: 00 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNING Th is rod was originally designed to back-troll small plugs for steelhead or silver salmon.
But because of its light tip and powerful butt, it has quickly emerged as the rod of choice
for serious walleye anglers fi shing spinner/worm rigs. Saltwater fl ats fi shermen also like
the light tip for casting soft plastics, jigs or bait to cruising redfi sh and specks.
LENGTH: 7’6” | POWER: 00 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNING Available exclusively in IMX graphite, this rod was developed for light steelhead duty on smaller
rivers, where many anglers prefer the convenience of a two-piece rod. Just like its one-piece
counterpart, this rod is extremely versatile, surprisingly powerful and super sensitive.
LENGTH: 8’6” | POWER: 1 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNING Here’s a powerful two-piece spinning rod designed specifi cally for drift fi shing Chinook salmon
in large rivers. Because of its fast taper and powerful, magnum butt section, it has quickly become
a favorite among hybrid and striper anglers as well—especially in estuary and jetty fi sheries.
LENGTH: 8’6” | POWER: 5 | PIECES: 2 | CASTING Our magnum-power plug rod, designed specifi cally for Alaska. More than enough backbone to
handle the biggest salmon you can fi nd. Use it for either back-trolling, drift-fi shing or backbouncing.
Th ere’s enough power here to fi sh for ling, cod, halibut or other oversized bottom fi sh as well.

STEELHEAD SERIESWhen you need to nail a drift against the other bank, you need distance. When you need to
stick it in the foam to get the right line, you need accuracy. When you need to do it all day long,
you need less weight. When it’s all paid off with a bite you might never feel, you need sensitivity.
Th e Steelhead Series brings it all. Th ese rods are lighter and more sensitive, the actions are faster
than we’ve ever off ered in a steelhead rod and they’re longer for greater distance and line control.
Th ey’re capped with super durable composite cork butt ends which are quiet in a boat, and rib
cage friendly. And with a stunning fi nish, and you’ve got the ultimate steelheaders arsenal.
LENGTH: 8’8” | POWER: 4 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNING Our best all-around steelhead rod may be the most accurate description for this rod. Th is is a great choice
for fi shing small to medium-sized rivers. A surprisingly strong rod that casts with precision and provides
the strength to work the fi sh, even when some brute suddenly decides to spend one more year in the salt.
LENGTH: 8’2” | POWER: 2 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNINGWhen you’re pursuing summer run steelhead in tight quarters of coastal rivers and small
streams, the shorter, light-action of the GL11668-01 is ideal. It eff ortlessly casts light drift
baits and corkies with the minimum weight needed to work low clear drifts and pools. It
also provides a little less to deal with if you’re fi shing from a tube or pontoon boat.
LENGTH: 8’6” | POWER: 4 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNINGA spinning alternative when fi shing small to medium-size rivers. Best suited for 8 or 10-pound line and
1/2-ounce lures, this rod is surprisingly strong. It will handle most smaller salmon species and steelhead.
LENGTH: 9’6” | POWER: 1 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNINGTh e ultimate light-line steelhead drift rod. Th e perfect action to handle 6-pound line and a
subtle power, much like a fl y rod, that tires fi sh quickly. We originally designed this rod for
the western technique known as boondogging. Th e technique requires a more forgiving rod,
because the fi sh will drop the bait the minute it feels any resistance. Th is rod is soft enough to
let you “see” the strike before the fi sh has time to react. A good bank rod, a great boat rod!
LENGTH: 9’ | POWER: 2 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNINGA very nice light-action summer-run steelhead rod, designed to fi sh 6 to 10-pound
line in low, clear water conditions. It has a light, responsive tip with a fairly soft
midsection that allows you to lob small lures or bait to spooky fi sh. Th e butt section,
however, is still fairly powerful, allowing you to handle large fi sh as well.
LENGTH: 9’ | POWER: 4 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNINGWhen the water drops to a low, gin clear summer fl ow, this rod will allow you to fi sh the
small hooks and light weights required to avoid spooking the most selective feeders.
LENGTH: 9’ | POWER: 3 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNINGLike its casting cousin this new spinning version is designed for big summer-run steelies
and small salmon. It balances nicely with 8 to 10-pound line. In fact, you can drop all the
way down to 6-pound test, yet still have the power to handle a 20-pound steelhead.
LENGTH: 9’ | POWER: 6 | PIECES: 2 | CASTINGWhile technically this is a big-water steelhead rod, its 9 feet of muscle give you plenty of fl exibility
for almost any sea-run species, including big Chinook salmon. If you fi sh Alaska or any of
the big rivers of the Northwest, it’s a great drift rod that will handle big plugs well, too.
LENGTH: 9’ 8” | POWER: 3 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNINGTh is is the most powerful spinning rod in the steelhead lineup. It will allow you to cover
any big river under just about any condition with traditional techniques, and if you
need to you can drop down to the lighter baits and spinners. Great for silvers, chums,
sockeye and even a small chinook in case you happen to stumble across one.
LENGTH: 10’6” | POWER: 3 | PIECES: 2 | CASTINGTh e extra power of this rod will get you steelhead in larger rivers—especially drift
fi shermen who require long casts to reach those slots on the far bank. Th is rod is powerful
enough for light-duty mooching for silvers, and it’s an especially good fl oat rod.
LENGTH: 10’6” | POWER: 5 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNINGLike its casting counterpart (see above), this spinning rod was designed for smaller
salmon in British Columbia. It works great with fl oat fi shing or standard drift gear, and
it’s a good alternative for downriggers and planer boards in the Great Lakes. A perfect
choice for casting spoons and spinners from the shore at prime river mouths.
LENGTH: 8’8” | POWER: 5 | PIECES: 2 | SPINNINGWith a little more backbone to throw heavy spoons and spinners from the bank, the GL11670-01 is a
great high-water, winter steelheader. With suffi cient power to move big fi sh, it’s not only a good choice
for large winter run steelies in swift currents, but works well for small salmon like silvers and chums.

LENGTH: 8’ 3” | PIECES: 3 | CASTINGA great rod designed for drift fi shing for smaller salmon and steelhead, it will handle a variety of baits and

SALTWATERSPINNING RODSYou may have noticed that fi shing rods tend to look like the
fi sh they’re built to pursue. Trout rods are long and sleek. Bass
rods, short and powerful. And saltwater rods are, well, to see
this analogy through you’ll have to turn the pages. From looking
at everyone else’s rods, it would seem that they think fi sh in
the ocean are big, slow, mule-headed oafs. But we know better.
Our saltwater rods represent what the fi sh in the ocean are
truly like. Sure, our rods are big, but they’re sleek too. Powerful.
Fast. Like a tuna. Our saltwater rods. designed with the help
of seasoned pros on both coasts, are lighter, tougher and more
sensitive than anything else you’ll cast into the salt. If you
want to catch big, dull fi sh, stick with one of those other rods.
If you want to catch big, fast, powerful fi sh, try one of ours.

LENGTH: 7’ 10” | POWER: 4 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGTh is is a powerful rod for fi shing open water where long casts are essential for success. Th e
extra length gives you faster tip speed for increased casting distance and long-distance
hook sets. Th e extra length is a plus for wading and it will handle big topwaters and heavy
jigs as well as soft plastics. Got a shot at a big permit? Th is would be our rod of choice.
LENGTH: 7’ 10” | POWER: 3 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGTh is rod is designed for open water where long, accurate casts are required to fi sh pockets of water from

for fi shing light jigs and small to medium topwaters. Th e extra length is also an advantage for wading.
LENGTH: 7’ 4” | POWER: 4 | PIECES: 1 | SPINNINGWhen accuracy is still important, but you need to back off of the fi sh because they’re extra spooky
or the water is really clear, the extra length is a big plus. It’s designed for big fi sh, heavy cover
and big lures. When you need to get a fi sh out of the roots in a hurry, this is a good choice.

PRO GREEN SERIESTh e Pro Green Series is a special set of inshore saltwater rods created
for anglers preferring to fi sh small jigs, soft plastics and any number
of artifi cial baits, including topwaters for a myriad of saltwater
species. A great choice for school-sized blues and stripers along
the Atlantic Coast as well as redfi sh, seatrout, permit, bonefi sh,
snook and small tarpon in Florida and the Gulf coast, these rods
off er a surprising blend of power, light weight and sensitivity.
Th ere are three diff erent power-ratings and three diff erent rod lengths off ered to cover the variety
of water depths and conditions each region off ers. Th ey aren’t meant to replace the softer, more
delicate action of the popping rod, but to give the angler an option for aggressively fi shing artifi cials.
Th e faster actions of the Pro Green Series give wading and boat anglers more positive line and
lure control. Designed to create quick, accurate “snap casts” to visible targets or long prospecting
casts where covering water is more important, these rods have powerful butt sections to move
big fi sh with ease and are still light enough to fi sh them all day long with minimal fatigue.

alterations, improper use, abuse or damage by your failure to provide necessary and reasonable

TIPSHere are a few tips for keeping your rod performing at the highest level for many years to come.
• Store our rod in its case, out of the sun and weather. Make sure it’s completely dry before storing.
• Dogs love to chew on the cork, and so do children, well it’s better to just keep it away from both.
• Lubricate reel seats with a small amount of WD40®or similar corrosion inhibitor.
• To avoid added stress on the rod it’s best to disassemble it when
bushwhacking and when entering boats and cars.
• Never reel weights or baits all the way to the rod tip. Th is may
damage the tip-top or fracture the tip of the blank.
• Always follow the line rating for your rod. Exceeding the line rating is
like ‘red lining’ your car’s engine: it may cause the rod to fail.
• To free a snag, point the rod tip directly at the snag area and pull back along the axis of the rod, putting
the stress on the reel instead of the rod. Th is will either dislodge the snag or break your leader, but your
rod will be saved. Never attempt to free a snag with your rod tip, unless your lure costs over £50.
• Have fun, after all you’re fi shing.
POWERZONENever over-stress your rod in one spot. Th is often happens when setting the hook, playing a fi sh
close to the boat or shore, or dead lifting a fi sh into the boat. Bending the tip at a severe angle in
this manner transfers all the stress to a single area, potentially causing the blank to fail. Rods are
designed to handle stress over the entire length of the blank and should be fl exed with this in mind.
