I hope by the time you receive this newsletter the bluebonnets are in bloom and our gardens and trees are once again flourishing! As the weather improves, many of you might be planning some outdoor updates to your yard or home, I would ask that if you plan to make any big changes in your yard or the exterior of your home, please contact the HOA manager to file the appropriate ECC proposal forms to request approval of any changes before you begin. We are noticing a trend of many homeowners who have failed to update their electronically paid HOA dues for 2015. We have a small group that has continued to pay the old amount of $45.00 the past two months. We are hoping to avoid the time and expense involved in personally notifying these homeowners that dues have increased $2.00 per month to $47.00. If you don’t use the coupon book that was mailed to you and pay electronically thru your bank, please update your payment provider so that your account will be up to date. Please contact Jesse and ask him to take you off the mailing list for coupon books. Towards the end of February we received the results of our 20 year infrastructure study from Bufkin Engineering. e Board members reviewed the report and have set out to develop a plan to address the elements of the study that were found to be of concern. Over the next few months, we will develop a plan based on the study report and seek bids for any work required to maintain or repair the infrastructure in question. Finally, I would ask that pet owners take responsibility for their animals. ere have been numerous complaints of dogs barking incessantly. Also pet owners have been identified walking their dogs and not cleaning up after them. Please clean up after your pets, as nobody else wants to. To limit access to only activities associated with the construction of the new home, a temporary barrier consisting of posts and a chain was installed. e chain was locked and the owners of the new house being constructed were required to call the Manager when access was needed so that the Manager could unlock the chain. Recently, the four homeowners adjacent to that portion of the Common Area requested that the Board restore the area with plants and remove the temporary posts/chain barrier and block further vehicular access since construction of the new house is completed. e Board of Directors designated one of its member to take charge of the project to restore the area with some plants as well as removing the temporary barrier and replace it with a permanent one. e designated Board member evaluated the area and in consultation with the Association's landscape provider, had the following work completed: Planting of 5 3-gal size Primrose Jasmine. Removal of the wooded posts and chain Placement of 3 large boulders. Removed 1 cedar tree and trimmed back other cedar and oak branches overhanging the parking lot. Where did you grow up? I was born in Austin, lived off of Burnet Road until I was 5 years old & then moved to Cat Mountain where I have lived now for 12 years.

What school do you attend? I currently attend Huntington Surrey High School where I am a Junior.

Tell us about yourself: I’ve grown up around cars most of my life, but only in the past few years have I really taken interest in the driving and modding community. I think my best memory of a car was when I was three or four years old and my grandfather had just finished restoring his 1828 Ford Model T truck. He asked me what color it should be and I immediately said “Yellow with blue polka dots!”a couple of weeks later he picked me up in his 1928 Ford Model T truck that was painted yellow with blue polka dots.

I’m a huge car enthusiast and I love taking pictures of cars

and other things (people, views etc..). I began working as the photographer for JD Motors in December 2014 and currently enjoy taking pictures of cars because it’s fun. I can do portrait work and enjoy taking pictures of people and adding an artistic twist. By that I mean there has to be some form of art to the picture, whether it’s light painting (using light and shadows to accentuate curves / shapes) or putting the subject in an interesting environment. I also am on the yearbook committee at my school as one of the photographers.

I have a passion for photography so I figured why not try putting it to use! I enjoy meeting new people and working in a creative environment. I can shoot homes, yards, personal property, automobiles, family portraits, parties, social events and any other needs you may have. My schedule is very flexible. I shoot with a Canon T5 DSLR and have lenses for most situations. Please contact me to set up a meeting to discuss your specific project.

GET MORE FROM YOUR GARDENRaspberries require little care to grow, but can cost

a lot at the store. You can even freeze them. Mixed salad greens, like baby lettuce and arugula are

tough and quick growing, even after cutting.If you cut them correctly they will grow again. Start

at one end of your garden and cut plants about an inch from the ground. The plant could grow back 3-4 times in a season.

Flat gardening was popular years ago, but now raised beds are much better. They prevent weeds from taking over, let water drain more efficiently and plants thrive in aerated soil.

A very common error in gardening is over watering and drowning plants. If it rains at least one inch per week, you can probably skip heavy watering. Purchase a rain gauge (under $10) at garden stores to keep track of how much or how little water your plant is getting and add or subtract from there.
