r Water Quality MultiprobeModel Manta 2 The Manta 2 takes the Manta 1’s utility a step further by associating most of each sensor’s circuitry with the sensor instead of elsewhere in the basic multiprobe’s base unit. In the Manta 2, the sensor circuitry is built into the sensor itself. This architecture solves two of the most pernicious problems that have faced multiprobe users for decades. First, you are not purchasing circuitry for sensors that you do not need as in most multiprobes in the market and second, troubleshooting is now simple and downtime should be less than a day if ever a problem occurs.

Palmer Bowlus FlumesThe Palmer Bowlus metering flume has been widely used since 1937 for measuring water and wastewater in open channels or pipelines that are not under pressure. Some of its most important characteristics include measure-ment accuracy, low head loss, minimum flow restriction and ease of installation in pipelines.

AccuracyThe accuracy of the Palmer Bowlus flumes is comparable to that of Parshall or other types of Venturi flumes. Experiments indicate that within the normal range of flows (from under 10% to 90% of flume capacity), measurement accuracy is usually within +/- 3% of flow rate.

r Fuel Sampler

For sampling ethanol and ethanol-blended fuels, the Fuel Sampler is effi-cient and easy to use. It is made up of three 5 ft. (1.53 m) sections of clear PVC that screw together to make a 15 ft. (4.60 m) length. As the sampler is lowered into the fuel tank, the float valve at the bottom opens, allowing the fuel up into the tube. When the bottom of the tank is reached, simply raise the sampler up to close the valve and hold the sample inside, showing a core section of the fuel. To empty, press the tip of the valve against the side of the tank and the contents will flow out. Clean the sampler with mild soapy water using the Cleaning Brush (NAB01291WA) or the Cleaning Rod (NAB01412WA) and Cloth Strips (NAB01413WA).

Weather Balloons

The Weather Balloons are produced by rotational molding of natural rubber. Their uniform wall thickness prevent premature blow-outs, and they are ozone resistant. Reinforced necks allow use in strong winds without tearing.

Each balloon is inflated, inspected, and tested before being dusted and sealed in a moisture-proof polyethylene bag. They may be stored up to 7 years if kept in a cool, dark room. No pre-flight conditioning is required. Weather Balloons are not returnable.

Lightning Detector for Laptop and Desktop ComputersModel LD-250

The LD-250 uses a small active antenna to receive the radio signals from lightning strikes. These signals are the crackling you hear on an AM radio during a thunderstorm. The direction-finding antenna is able to tell which direction the signal is coming from. The software measures the strength of the received signals to estimate distance. Special signal processing in software reduces the effects of strike-to-strike energy variations providing more accurate distance information.

Thermal Imager Model Testo 880

Mobile Thermal Imagers scan equipment or buildings, and transform infrared radiation into visible thermal images with which a qualitative and quantitive analysis of temperature can be conducted. Thermal imagers are of great significance in preventive service and maintenance, but also in building and production monitoring, as well as in technical diagnostics. A thermal imager detects anomalies, thus making the search for errors and the early implementation of correctional measures possible. It checks materials and components completely without any damage and exposes problem zones before a malfunction can occur.

Features• High-quality wide angle lens 32° with F1 optics • Image refresh rate 33 Hz • Detector 160 x 120 interpolated to 320 x 240 pixels • NETD <0.2°F (< 0.1°C) • Manual focus • Minimum focus distance 3.9” (10 cm) • 1 GB SD included (approx. 800-1.000 images)

Infiltrometer Set Model 142000

The infiltration is done by placing a circular shaped hood filled with water directly on the soil surface. Thus, no contact layer on the soil surface is necessary. The pressure head in the water filled hood is regulated by a “Mariotte“ water supply. The effective pressure head at the soil surface can be adjusted between zero and any negative pressure up to the bubble point of the soil. For calculation of the hydraulic conductivity after WOODING’s equation (steady state infiltration) two hoods are used with a ratio of 2: 1 in terms of the covered infiltration area at the soil surface.

Capillary Suction Time Model 304M CST

The capillary suction pressure generated by standard filter paper is used to “suck” water from the sludge. The rate at which water permeates through the filter paper varies depending on the condition of the sludge and the filterability of the cake formed on the filter paper. The CST is ob-tained from two electrodes placed at a standard interval from the funnel. The time taken for the water front to pass between these two electrodes constitutes the CST.

ry OxiTop BOD

Measurement Instrumentation Measurement using OxiTop Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) Instrumentation is based on pressure measurement in a closed system: microorganisms in the sample consume the oxygen and form CO2. This is absorbed by NaOH, creating a vacuum, which can be read directly as a measured value in mg/l BOD.

The sample volume being tested regulates the amount of oxygen available for a complete BOD measurement. BOD measurement ranges of up to 4,000 mg/l can be measured using different sample volumes.

The OxiTop BOD instrumentation heads (green and yellow for differentiation of inflow/outflow) have an AutoTemp function: if the sample temperature is too cold, the start of BOD measurement is automatically delayed (by at least 1 hour) until a constant temperature has been reached.

Apart from the automatic storage of 5 measured values (1 value per day), further measured BOD values can be read at all times during or after the pe-riod of 5 days, which permits the tracking of check values or measurements over longer periods. The OxiTop BOD Instrumentation measurement system also offers simple operation, improved controllability, and non-toxicity.

CryoMill Cryogenic Grinding

The CryoMill has been spe-cially designed for cryogenic grinding. The grinding jar is continually cooled with liquid nitrogen from the integrated cooling system before and dur-ing the grinding process. Thus the sample is embrittled and volatile components are preserved.

The liquid nitrogen circulates through the system and is continually replenished from an autofill system in the exact amount which is required to keep the temperature at -196 °C.

The automatic cooling system guarantees that the grinding process is not started before the sample is thoroughly cooled. This results in reduced consumption and guarantees reproducible grinding results.

Advantages • Fast, efficient cryogenic grinding at -196 °C• No bothersome manual cooling thanks to integrated cooling system with Autofill • High final fineness due to grinding by impact and friction• Highly reproducible grinding results • Programmable cooling and grinding cycles • Digital parameter setting • Simple operation, easy cleaning • Feed size: up to 8 mm• Final fineness: down to approx. 5 μm• With 1 grinding station for jars up to 50 ml

s SXBlue IIGPS Receiver

The SXBlue II GPS is a compact real-time BlueTooth Submeter receiver. With unique revolutionary technology, the SXBlue GPS is also the first GIS/Mapping grade receiver to achieve submeter 2dRMS (95%) in realtime without the need to post-process GPS data.

The receivers use SBAS signals (WAAS, EGNOS, MSAS, and compatible) to full potential and as the only needed source of differential correction, even for forestry applications.

This field-proven technology now opens the door to support true mobile GIS initiative. Find-ing assets, collecting new data and updating maps accurately and independently of any third party post-processing software has become possible today.

The flexibility of these receivers allows the user to build field data collection systems around specific needs and choices of computer platform with freedom to upgrade as mobile solutions evolve and grow.

Geneq also offers a complete line of rugged Pocket and Tablet PC’s in the SXBlue MAPPER SERIES.
