SGB’s Cast Resin Transformers are designed and manufactured to withstand the harsh conditions experienced on mine sites, as well as underground mining conditions. SGB’s transformers are able to withstand the stresses of the mining environment, whilst also delivering an extremely safe, reliable, and eco-friendly power supply. The transformers are self-extinguishing, and will not produce dangerous gases - a critical safety factor on mining sites. From an important cost prospective, it also calls for a low maintenance schedule. To a mine, low maintenance means less downtime. No testing has to be done on fluids, and no fluids have to be replaced. Even when the transformers are completely dirtied due to high humidity, diesel fumes and dust, they are simply switched off and the dirt wiped off. saved the particular mine a lot of manual labour, time and money. Usually, when installing an underground mini substation, workers have to hoist the cage up the mineshaft to the surface and pull it aside with a sling. Thus, creating enough space to be able to hoist the transformer substation down the mine shaft. This has to be done because the regular size of a mini substation is too large to fit in the cage. But with this compact solution, the mini substation can fit in the cage and simply be hoisted down underground in the cage.

Coal Mining
