Answer #2 : Based on the novel Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde by R.L. Stevenson, I found the theme of friendship. Mr Utterson is a really good friend I found in the novel. For examples, he did not tell anyone that Dr Jekyll changed to Mr Hyde in the lab. Besides that, Mr Utterson also keeps Dr Jekyll a secret which is Dr Jekyll is also Mr Hyde. He is keep friendship when he did not open a letter that he got from another friend Dr Lanyon.

Detecting the issue:Students read (halfway, full text or maybe a few chapters) but they fail to grasp the meaning of the vocabulary used : e.g.: In Chapter 2-The Signature

“He looked at his prisoner, who was very conscious of that circle of hate, and yet who stood there, filled with a kind of black scorn–” (P.15)

In Chapter 3-Blackmail House

“It chanced on one of these excursions that their way led them into a rather dismal part of town, in which there stood one street of clean and neat little houses” (P.24)
