Introduction
The Nose Clinic, a private healthcare clinic specialising in
functional and cosmetic surgery to the nose, wanted to launch
a sub-brand to cater for people suffering from snoring and sleep
disorders. The brief was to create an interesting website which
would stand out from other snoring websites. Most competitors'
sites appear very similar to each other and somewhat
dishearteningly, almost always feature a disgruntled looking
partner. We wanted to create a web presence that focuses on the
benefits of treatment, so addressing the issues that sufferers and
their families typically face.

Design Rationale
We were very keen that the sufferers would be able to see and
relate to what it might be like, at long last, to get a decent night's
sleep. We developed the positioning 'Attaining Restful Sleep' to
describe the benefit of successful treatment.
We decided on a restful colour palate and positive images for
The Snoring and Sleep Clinic. The imagery also clearly links to both
the main Nose Clinic brand and sister sub-brand, rhinoplasty.co.uk.

Engaging Patients
The design of the medical website also incorporated further
methods to engage the target audience. Our objective was to be
able to see the website from a potential snorer's (or a member
of his/her family's) point of view. Both design and copy was
sensitive to the needs and concerns of the target audience.
We concentrated on ways to address patient's problems.
This patient sensitive approach has helped to engage both
patients and GPs.

Engaging Patients
We designed the self-assessment snoring and sleep disorders
questionnaire to engage potential patients (and their families).
Key clinical questions were included.
Once completed, the questionnaire results are e-mailed back.
This has both encouraged further enquiry and facilitated
the initial consultation.

Interactive Patient Pathway
We designed an innovative, interactive patient pathway for the
new Snoring and Sleep Clinic’s website to encourage engagement
of the target audience. This pathway allows for the
communication of complex information in an interactive and easy
to digest form. All treatment options are fully described for
prospective patients, as they roll over each section of the diagram
and learn what options may be relevant to them. One can drill
down into quite detailed information about specific procedures
and treatments. The ground-breaking pathway provides both
patients and GPs with important information.

The diagrams we created for this new medical marketing website
allows prospective patients to clearly see how surgery and other
treatment options are undertaken and how they may be of benefit.

Interactive Patient Pathway
The Patient Pathway was named ‘The Journey To Restful Sleep’,
in line with treatments previously designed for The Nose Clinic
and Rhinoplasty.co.uk. The medical illustrations are clear, simple
and informative.
We focused on ease of navigation, so that the website is both
simple to use and easy to understand. This enables the
prospective patient to navigate around ‘The Journey to Restful
Sleep’ in order to see which type of treatment (surgical and
non-surgical) is of relevance to them.
